- In this particular video I struggle with elevation sickness at our campsite near Greer, Arizona. So I decide to pack up and leave, heading towards Hon-Dah Casino in lower elevation... where we stay for a couple days and I give a walking tour of the surprisingly large RV Park with 500 campsites.
Welcome to my channel PandaMonium. My name is Ausia and my dog's name is Moo-moo... my rig is the Lucky Panda, a 28ft 2018 Coachmen Leprechaun towing a 2008 Chevy Colorado or sometimes a trailer and 2014 Can-Am Maverick 4 wheeler. I live full-time in a motorhome off the grid with 700ah of Battle Born lithium batteries and 950 watts of solar. My channel is about living and traveling in my RV to different locations across the U.S. with various friends that I call my tribe, where we camp, hike, bike, paddle board, 4 wheel, go to events and venues, eat at different restaurants and explore new places. Certain times of the year I'm at my homestead in Williams the high desert of Northern Arizona where we are working on projects, homesteading, gardening and try to practice permaculture and being off grid & self-reliant. Just wanting to be honest & open I am transgender and part of the LGBT community. I welcome anybody with an open mind and heart.

Folks don't understand Elevation. Propane doesn't burn right. Generators have to have a adjustment to the carb. Old style cars with a c🎉are must be adjusted. Cattle moved from the desert ranches of Ax to the high country get sick and lose weight or even die. Noodles cook different. I could add more but hey you get the point.
That rate is fantastic, I payed more 8yrs ago in Pinetop and Lakeside, which kind of made me sell my tt. Had a big shell for my truck and camped in it for a few yrs. of course my lungs could no longer liked the elevation. A winter neighbor of mine has a place there. Lovved the buffet breakfast!

Drink a lot of water for elevation sickness. It worked for me at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Oh my God this place is gorgeous and yes for the price of the monthly oh my God you can't beat this.. oh I love that breakfast buffet and yeah I like the way you said you have to be patient and you had to like wait for 30 minutes

Two years ago I went to Peru. Landed in Lima at 600 ft elevation (which is where I live in Ohio) then flew to Cusco at 11,000#. I no more than got off the plane and I couldn’t breath. The airport nurses came right away and I went to the hospital for 24 hours. They let me go when my oxygen got up to 93 but I couldn’t do anything for the rest of the trip! I was down!! I feel for you Asha.
What about flying? I was concerned my oxygen wouldn't be enough to fly because of a mysterious blood vessel disorder I have but I finally flew last month felt fine

That's quite a large RV park.
We have a 10 year rule at our park, but the older rigs are grandfathered in for our long term residents that have lived in our park for years. Mine aged out too, but again, I've been there a long time now.
Most don't understand that the 10 year rule happened due to those that came in with major issues on their RV's, causing electrical fires, leaking septic tanks, unmaintained RV's, etc.
It sucks for those that do keep up with their RV maintenance & can't get in because of the ones that ruined it with trash rigs.
It also helps keep out the druggies too. We had a bad time with that before the 10 year rule.
Elevation sickness is no joke! I feel for you.

Ausia you were out of breath the entire video but managed to show us that enormous Rv park....lovely! Thank you for taking us along with you. Getting lost and asking for directions was funny! I once got altitude sickness on a trip to Woods Canyon lake on the rim and spent the entire weekend in bed in our rig. Not fun. I know how you feel.That food looked yummy!!

My ex boyfriends parents would RV the winter down that way some years ago!! Where they stayed was 55 and over only, so that made it to where none of the kids and grandkids couldn't go for the holidays!!

I remember when I was young and in great shape hiking in Montana at almost 10,000 ft and I was out of breath, had headaches and wasn’t sleeping well so I know elevation matters.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Eastern Az. FYI, if you don't like your site at Hondah, they are very accommodating to change your site. My husband and I come there in May and October when the crowds are gone. Our home is only an hour away but love this campground. Safe travels.

That is an Indian casino and I imagine some of the casino workers and staff live in that RV park full time as Pinetop is very expensive housing. Pinetop is where folks from Phoenix come to get out of the extreme heat in the Valley of the Sun during July thru September.

Down the road on your right about a mile from you there's a cattle guard if you turn in there it's a beautiful little Lake in there if you go on down to the left will be the fish hatchery which is really nice to see

Good you're doing better after coming down in elevation. Wow, thats a pretty campground. For that price, I might think about staying there during the summer, electric and ac, laundry room. That's a nice area,. lots to do. 🙂👍

Hello Ausia , we have run into that 10 year rule, usually send pictures to get in. But what a great rv park! Petty deceiving with all the trees and divided roads . Breakfast buffets are best, IMO . Safe travels to you and Jeff and puppies!

It's a beautiful area and I'm sure the weather's great but I understand the elevation situation. 3rd summer in Leadville and I still can't breathe!!!! I don't think we'll ever get use to it!!! Safe travels y'all.❤

the 10 year rule exists at many rv parks because of insurance requirements for the park owners. their insurance rates skyrocket if they allow older rigs, so in order to stay in business and turn a profit they are forced to impose this rule on guests.

I've spent my summer in pretty much the same areas in the White Mountains. Though I did spend some time in Colorado.I never equated my abnormal for me mild headaches, palpitations, and shortness of breath to the altitude. But I went to Tucson for a bit and everything was back to normal. Dang. Gotta ease into it next year.

I say this with love Ausia. I had to laugh a little bit when you got lost, your sense of direction seems to be off lately. I know for sure I would have been lost, but I have never had a good sense of direction. I do love that RV park, it's nice that they let the full timers fix up their space, Great video.

Try and get a RX # for oxygen concentrator for your high elevation camping and hiking also I use portable OX bottles when I exercise and become short of breath , you may not need to be on OX all the time your at higher elevation.......watching

I have forty acres up where you guys are it is 9200 elevation and it is tough when you don’t live there you just have to take it Easy for the first week or so. Also you can get those oxygen canisters for a few hits during your stay but nothing strenuous!

I guess like the casino , the rv park is on reservation . So there not as greedy as off reservation people are . Where i store my trailer ,
there rv park charges 1000.00 a month for full hookups . includes electric though.

Yikes, 9k feet elevation. Lake Havasu is calling you at just 500 feet. Unfortunately it won't be cool there for another 2 or 3 months. Good luck feeling better at a lower elevation.

The park is nice and clean, no clutter or trash. Good management ! IF..owned by the casino, then there is money for the welcomed expansion. That was unusual low laundry rates. Thanks for sharing the walk-about.

I get altitude sickness. Did you know Amazon & Walmart (online) sell pure oxygen cans/containers that will help with that for a temporary basis?

As a full timer, 1 question is why would anyone want to camp there?
Inexpensive and conveniently.. located near Show Low and Greer, two awesome places. If you want to stay in one place instead of moving constantly, that's just a few reasons, but each to their own. I like moving around and seeing new places. 😊👍♥️
People also get older. Not as easy to get around and boondock any more for them.
