That's what I thought, certainly to save your head from your gear, but I've also had bad crashes while wearing a helmet and the wrench on your neck when you hit the water is horrible, better to make a cleaner entrance with a bare head maybe?
I wonder what would happen if a second foil was put at the front of the board to stabilise it…? Both foils could presumably be smaller to reduce the drag…🤔
