- This absolutely stunning Dingwall Super J 5-string has the longest list of upgrades I have ever seen on a Dingwall!
Swamp Ash Body
Wenge Contrast Layer, taped off
Maple Burl X-Top with Purple to Turquoise Reverse Burst finish
Solid (opaque) turquoise back and matching headstock
Blacked Out Maple Neck (now a discontinued option)
Ghost Block inlays on a wenge fretboard
Luminlay Side Dots
Rupert Neve 2-band preamp with Passive Tone rolloff
3 pickups - 2x Super Fatty II, and a P-Tone in the Neck position
Series/Parallel Toggle Switches
This recording was made with the bass plugged directly into the camera (Sony a7 IV) via an IK Multimedia iRig Pro Quattro.
This bass has already been SOLD.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS BASS TO ARRIVE! Thank you for the amazing service John! This just sounds insane
My pleasure, thanks for letting me try it out! Can't wait to hear what you do with it. Your vision for the specs was absolutely brilliant. This one will be remembered for a long, long time. Well done!
Congrats!
Congrats, man! I saw your post on the TalkBass Dingwall Owner's Club thread.
Congratulations! Gorgeous looks and tones.
Whats the preamp in this?
2:06 My favorite tone. That is the reason I recently changed to flatwounds on my EHB
So you are kinda a blues guy
looks and sounds amazing omg
Amazing bass. Love the tones - especially at 4:57
Beautiful bass! Saw it on Talkbass earlier today 🔥
Holy cow. Amazing
Gorgeous bass and top notch specs. Sounds amazing! I hope that's the preamp that's coming in the John Taylor signature models.
Yes, believe it or not, it sure is!
I thought you were using a Neve preamp. Never heard of a Bass Guitar preamp from Neve. This must be so good!
PLEASSSSSSSSSSE Where do i find this NEVE preamp?
Yeah, it's insanely good, isn't it?! You can find one inside of your own custom Dingwall. You can also find one inside a new Dingwall John Taylor production model bass. The black ones should be available starting within the next couple months, and then the green and white ones should follow a few months later.
I think they should sell that Neve preamp..

Wish they'd put that Neve preamp in a pedal
Outstanding idea! How much would you pay for that pedal if it existed?
@@JohnFoxBass would really depend on the feature set, but having the eq options, and maybe a transformer balanced DI out etc... $600-800 wouldn't be unreasonable considering you're getting studio quality gear at your feet. I'd look at something like the API Tranzformer as a starting point price wise
@@charleshale8504 Have you seen the Caveman Audio BAS1? It is incredible. Sounds like exactly what you want. But it's not a pedal. For something like the Neve in a pedal format, check out the Arkham Oracle.
