My friend, get a harness for when you go up on your roof. It's really easy to fall off one and get injured badly enough to ruin your day up to ruining your life when a reasonably priced piece of safety gear can keep that chance way down. One missed step is all it takes. I sold life and accident insurance for a year and also sat on safety committees at multiple employers over my career. Falls from height were the worst and most preventable injuries I saw. Do it for your family.
And get some life insurance while you're young, healthy, and really cheap to insure.

That was absolutely fascinating, and a two for the price of one 😀 Thank you.

If there was a way to cool your house with walnut in the summer, you'd have it made!

Fascinating. When you stoke up the furnace how long can you leave it before it needs fed again?

It depends more on the log. A bunch of small logs will burn hot and fast. I like to have some that are barely able to fit through that little door. Those ones don't burn so hot, but last much longer before I need to feed it again. Probably on average I need to put something in there every 1.5-2 hours.
