Well done!
Think you've found a niche here. Making something out of reclaimed timber with relaxing music. Winner for me.
Thank you
Awesome build. Wishing you, baby brown, Mrs brown and the cats a happy Christmas and new years
Great looking shelf! I learned an important tip - go ahead and mill my 'finds' as soon as I collect them. I expect it may become easier to be inspired to use them.
Yeah for me once the wood goes on a shelf or in to storage it tends to sit there for years 🤣👍
Love it.👍🏼❤️
That looks awesome and I learned a new trick the paper bag one, great idea not to get things dirty when your drilling 👍😁♥️
Thanks 👍
I reckon I could watch a 10 hour version of this- great work Keith
Thank you! More soon 👍
Simple, recycled, practical, totally my vibe too! 🐧
I absolutely love that you’re up cycling and even though you have no use for the pulls and knobs you offered them to people watching, so awesome!😁
Beautiful 👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
May I please offer a tip for transferring the keyhole positions to the wall without any measuring . . . offer up a level to the keyhole clips that are installed on the back of the shelf; make two marks on the level where the screws will go; hold the level on the wall, level it and transfer the marks you made on the level to the wall; place your anchors and hang the shelf. Thanks for your time, enjoyed the video, thumbs up.
What a great creative project❤
Thank you! 😊
That turned out to be a beautiful shelf!
From trash to beautiful family heirloom. Bravo.
I like the taped bag to catch the scraps. I would never of thought of that.
Can also just grab an old envelope out of the paper recycling pile.
Love these vids . In this throw away society we live in today ,it's great to see reclaimed timber used like this Bravo my friend
Great build. Thanks for sharing the video.
Love your attitude towards using reclaimed stuff, Keith. Making something beautiful and functional out of scavenged wood: awesome!
Lovely job 😊
Awesome job! Great idea to save the wood from the landfill! Turned out beautiful! 😊❤
Thank you! Cheers!
This made me smile through the whole thing. Basically, you made lumber out of scrap and made something out of the lumber. lol! The ultimate in "upcycling."
🤣👍
I’m feeling you’ve been enjoying going back to your roots Keith doing some salvage builds.
You look like you’ve really been enjoying making stuff.
Great use of material
*muy buen trabajo reciclar es lindo ademas de importante*
😎😎😎😎
Nice work Keith! Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖👍😎JP
Thanks 👍
@@RagnBoneBrown Your very welcome!😎
That's the way it's done. Wonderful idea. I love to see (& make) projects from recycled materials. Freecycle is a great source of old oak and pine furniture. I'm always upfront that I intend to re-purpose old furniture and don't take anything that I think others would find really useful, but for tatty old furniture that people just want gone, it's a great way of saving it from landfill. Most people are just happy to know that it's being put to good use. I've even sent photos to a few people to show what their old table or chest of draws transformed into.
I love when old bits of furniture and other pieces of timber can be repurposed. A beautiful addition to the kids room. 👍🏻 My favourite channel for this is 'Epic Recycling', unbelievable craftsman, just shows you what can be done with "scrap".
Is the name of the channel "Epic recycling" or "Epic Upcycling"? I could only find the latter.
@hansdegroot8549 Sorry my bad - youtube.com/@epicupcycling?si=suWOoQDCcCZQT3VY
As a ex-metalworker I'm very anti doing any wood work myself! But I enjoy your diy videos from recycled wood and appreciate your workmanship!
Love it!
Loving this junk hunt series, Keith. Really showcases your design creativity.
Rather than measure between the key holes (which can be tricky to get exact), I like to use a strip of painters tape attached from one key hole to the other. Then mark the shape of the key hole on the tape with a pencil. Then put the tape on the wall, position to find studs and level the tape. Drill your holes where marked on the tape and hang!
Great job 👏🏼
Love this series. Is it weird my favorite parts are the processing? XD
Fantastic job Keith you've really improved a lot. This looks like high end furniture. Didn't like the finish at first but actually turned out great.
I want to start putting my pieces together with dowls. I could watch you work all day
Beautiful build. Merry Christmas to you and all the family
Thanks, you too!
Brilliant - and all for just your time and fittings you had already. I look forward to seeing how you use the rest. Happy Christmas to you, the family and, of course, the cats.
I thought I was bad at finding / re using stuff. OK Keith. You win hands down. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Brown family 🎅😊
So nice that wood didn't make it to the tip and got to be enjoyed again. Well done.
Thanks 👍
Nice hack with the paper bag for the dust.
Love the design ... clean, modern look. Great work.
Thank you! Cheers!
That is a brilliant shelf from what you started out with, that’s some vision you must have.
Thanks
Brilliant 🎉
Nice project. I must say I enjoy the videos also of the times when you're looking for project wood. Subscribed too.
Thank you very much!
I made some elliptical shelves an had a similar problem attaching them to the walls. I ended up cutting a tiny mortise into the back of the shelf (using a domino), and then shaping it with a chisel into a tiny blind French cleat. I the attached a slim wooden hidden French cleat to the wall and put the shelf over it. It holds really well
just came across you channel.love the way you are recycling wood love to do things with old wood to.not on your scale but i enjoy it will watch a lot of your videos and do some of your ideals thank you.
Great project for baby browns room. Have you ever trip the tape trick trick when hanging things with those key holes or d rings?
Attach the fastner as you normally would. Then stretch a piece of tape across the 2 of them. Mark with pen, marker, etc on the tape when the fastners are. Then stick the tape to the wall where you want to hang it. Mark wall through tape where fastners are.
Lovely build, Keith - and great to see it being put to such good use at the end!
Thank you Eddy!
Beautiful work Keith! Always amazes me how you turn dated wood furniture into something so contemporary! Nice work! 😗🤌🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
That's a very nice shelf, hard to believe it started from 'scrap' wood.
Very nicely done!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love this
Brilliant shelf 👌
Wow, can't remember the last time I saw a YT woodworker using a plane and a gouge! Good on you, mate, you've just earned another subscriber!
Thank you very much!
Great item fantastic end result 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
👍👍👍 May this Christmas bring peace and happiness to yourself and your family 🎄⛄. Thanks Keith
this came together so well!
Nice build Keith! I like the rounded of design, almost like putting a big bubble of shelves on the wall. ❤
Nice video, I hope one day you make a video about how you identify wood species
Really nice, love the idea, I would love to be able to do such work but when I see the amount of equipment and skills needed I decided to postpone that to a next life….well done !
It's never too late to start anything new in your first life.
Love these types of videos. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Hey Keith! I started watching your videos during the pandemic and was inspired by you to start doing some furniture revivals. My neighborhood throws out a lot of good stuff!
My most recent project is a wood bookshelf I restored for my mother’s Christmas gift
(could’ve used that tip about rounding over dowels! 😅)
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for your videos and Happy Holidays to you, the family, and most importantly, the cats.
You are so talented, great job
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work Keith and all from old kitchen units, looks better than shop bought, Take care
Love it Keith. Never seen those keyhole plates before. Great idea.
Thanks 👍
Excellent video as always. Great re-use of materials, keep up the good work.
Thank you! Cheers!
shows the level. Proofs in the pudding. Nice Job Keith!
And very nice it is too!
Thank you

Such a nice book case, love it when you reuse materials. May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you! You too!
Stunning shelves, Keith! Beautiful work!!! 😃
Merry Christmas!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too!
Beautiful
Thank you
Another great build Keith, it looks lovely! Great tips along the way too. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas 🎄 thank you for all the videos
Thanks, you too!
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a merry new year 👍
Same to you!
Nice.
Top tip. We have the same planer machine and found the lock down for the left table to be a pita to lock. Removed it, removed the screw and handle, Inserted a long machine screw into the old hole and locked all in place with some nuts. Makes access really easy.
Great video and terrific project. I always enjoy your found wood builds and really like it when you include us on the hunt. I am sure many treasures are going to call that shelf home. Stay safe, thanks for sharing and a very Merry Christmas from San Diego, California!
Thank you very much! Happy Christmas
I often use upcycled kitchen doors, & drawer fronts. the oak ones release a sweet perfumed scent it's really nice, very straight and stable wood is great to reuse.
Yes! Thanks John
Nice one Keith, as usual. Seasons greetings to you and yours, 🎅🎄
Same to you!
Really enjoted that one Keith. A classic Rag n Bone Brown project. Wishing you and your family an amazing Christmas and a happy new year 👍
Happy holidays!
Brilliant!
👏👏👏 great job
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work
brilliant
Brilliant Keith well done and all the best to you and your family at Christmas. TC.
Barry (the Wirral)
Thanks Barry, Happy Christmas!
That came out really well mate !
Cheers buddy
Lovely piece Keith... looks great. Merry Christmas you you and your family
Thanks, you too!
Thanks Keith, Hmm, I'm not sure on the timber, I think you're right in suspecting there may be more than one species though. An imaginative re-use of the "waste" timber anyway, and it looked as if your new workshop layout was helping with the workflow as expected !
Have a great Christmas I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun with Brown Jr and the rest of Clan Brown !
Merry Christmas everyone
01:47 the yellowish wood that looks almost like spruce is ash, and the other darker wood with this zigzag grain is elm
I concur
@chefdaniel8391 👍
Dude. You’re my reclaim hero. One question. Why do you cut off the hinge holes and the ends of the doors? Couldn’t you maximize your wood by using the ends?
Would love to have a video on your reasons why you take all those steps.
I don't mind keeping the odd screw or nail hole but anything bigger than that is firewood to me
Love it, I’ve got oak and walnut over the last few years from cupboard doors and it’s great! Seems to be really stable after being in kitchens for years as well.
BTW more parallel clamps needed 😉😁
Shelf looks the business dude 👍👍
Cheers Dean
That’s a really awesome shelf!
Thank you Dan
Using double sided tape for this is WILD! But I’m glad it worked out, I’d be interested to see how it has held up next year. I don’t like trusting it enough for router templates but I’m trying to get used to it haha. The pots are a cool design, thanks for the video and have a lovely christmas 😊
I think you might need to watch the video again. I didn't use any double sided tape
@@RagnBoneBrown sorry mate, bloody youtube skipped to the next video on my watch list! 🤦🏻♂️
Great work
Nice bit of kit Keith.
Just an idea, check out some car boot sales, sometimes you can find really good stuff for pennies.
Instead of measuring for the hanging holes, use a piece of masking tape: put it on the back of your shelf and mark where the keyhole hangers are, then transfer the tape to wall making sure it's level, drill through the marks, remove tape, hang shelf, done.
Big up woody from pleaasurewood hills!
