I'm glad you pay no attention to the "Winstons"... Your shows are ALWAYS entertaining, informative and fun! I truly enjoy your commentary, your activities and sweet Gizmo. Just keep doing what you're doing!
YES I wake up at 6AM if I can to watch and I live in SoCal and have no current plan to move, so why else would I look forward to Monday if you weren't fabulous, fun, and personable??
@@JERRYANDLINDA Good day, Gerry and Linda! Has this situation about bnbs been resolved or is it still the same that there are plenty of them? Also, since you are not particularly happy about bnb situation, could you talk more about the alternative? I mean the possibility of “lifestyle visit”? Thanks ahead!
My schnauzer Ivan was recently diagnosed with Cushings and a heart murmur. We started him on the meds and he is like a puppy again. He had also lost interest in his kibble. We changed to Farmers Dog and I think that has also helped. Get well Gizmo.
I can't ever move to TV because all my family is in Los Angeles, but I watch the show because you two are happy, positive, very entertaining and I do get enough info on TV
Love your show! Enjoy your segments and field trips. Thank you for all your hard work in producing an upbeat vibe. Positive thoughts for you both and Gizmo.☺
Great Show! I am so very glad that Gizmo has a diagnosis. God Bless him! I hope he feels better soon. Jerry and Linda there will always be negative nellies....better off to let them move on. The rest of us look forward to your videos! Another UA-camr actually released a video on the villages. His name is Peter Santanello and a woman from Indiana showed him around TV. It was a very positive video and showed how nice everyone is there.
Had to watch your Monday on Tuesday. Reason I was flying to Orlando early Monday 😊 And watching MBM and looking out from the 11th story in FL it's beautiful weather, just as you 3 are beautiful to be with. We are going Clearwater way not TV way tho😢 My best to Gizmo!!
Notice how quickly Jerry changed the subject after the the husband trained to bake cookies comment. Winston gone like a puff of smoke. What a saving on room freshner. I hope Gizmo does not have adrenal issues. He is so youthful its hard to believe he's a senior pup ( just like J&L).😊
If Gizmo gets diabetes from the Cushings disease he can take insulin ny shot. I know alot of people who monitor their pups insulin and diet. Btw...type 1 diabetic here, had it for 44 years. Praying it hasn't hurt his kidneys. I love Gizmo.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sending get well wishes to Gizmo from across the 'pond'! You keep doing exactly the same! Have been with you since you started & love hearing about you & the villages. Penny (wannabe Floridian!)
Good word scramble! Sorry to hear about Gizzy - our 12 year old dog Seamus was recently diagnosed with the same thing. We’re working on a treatment and praying for good results. We took Groome from the airport to TV and The Villages Transport Van back to the airport. Both worked out splendidly! Great show as always - we love to watch no matter what the topic! ⛳️🌴☀️
Oh, that golf cart law is official now and will take effect Oct. 1st. When it does, to drive a golf cart, YOU GOTTA HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE! Just like a car! And counties have the option to require registration and licensing of golf carts. I'd like to see that be a state law too. Ocala has some golf cart neighborhoods and dumb people just let grade schoolers hop in the cart and go putzin' off wherever. Not good!
New to your channel. Gave me a good chuckle regarding Winston. Gotta love a good critic. 😜 I'm looking into the Villages so appreciate your info. Is Winston's house for sale???? Jennifer (Buckey Lake, Ohio, close to Columbus Ohio)
Hi Jerry and Linda, our dog Belle, an Italian miniature pincer was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease. We worked with our veterinarian and have been successfully treating her for 4 years about 6 years ago. She is not cured but there hasn’t been any sign of the disease for 2 years now. The only thing we deal with now is that she drinks a lot of water. I hope Gizzy feels better soon. Keep up your wonderful videos. Paul Branagan
Hi Jerry and Linda! I'm subscribed to your channel despite having zero interest in moving from NW Arkansas to The Villages because I think you are great fun to watch. Also, I too am from Indiana (sort of...Air Force brat but all my family were born and raised there, including my soon to be 95 yr old Aunt who is still in her home of many decades). Loved all my summers and visits there so much that I came from the east coast to go to college there (go Boilermakers!). Keep up the good work❤
I’ve been watching your videos and I must say you all nice folks and really do a good job explaining to everybody the Villages. We are looking to move into a 55 community up in that area. Note: quick question I’m a big cigar guy, is there any cigar lounges or clubs at the Villages… R/Gus Benitez
We always look forward to your shows!!! Such valuable information you impart weekly!! We so appreciate learning so much from y’all!! So glad to hear about Gizmo and a plan to make him feel better❤️
Hi Jerry and Linda, my dog has Cushings disease too, and she’s doing great. On medication twice a day to control the cortisol levels, medication to help her sleep at night (and us!). She’s around 17 years old, mostly blind, can’t hear, and just as happy a girl as ever. I hope Gizmo can get to feeling better and more like his old self again soon!
I felt sorry for Michael when he spoke about not having neighbors just rentals around him. Neighbors are a big part of the appeal of retirement communities, especially The Villages. I think he should complain to the realtor about not disclosing his lack of neighbors. Disingenuous of that realtor. Michael go to the “head honchos” to let them know of this occurrence. Good luck in your new home .
I found you guys after watching a video of Melody Lane touring the Villages in her golf cart. After she bought a property to use as an Air B&B I was wondering how that could be allowed in a retirement village. That should be a huge deal breaker. I would certainly be making a big stink, the sooner the better before things get too far out of hand.
In higher end age-restricted communities the HOA rules require a minimum 6 month lease for rented properties, and the number of homes available to rent at any one time is also restricted. It’s not governmental regulation, just part of the association covenants that are signed at the closing table when one purchases a house.
Oh gracious the short-term rental drama (not!) We rented for a week. Not everyone can or wants to rent long term. If people don't like it, move to another development. Our host in TV was very clear about the rules, trash guidelines, etc. It is not that hard. Is there really any difference between a lifestyle visit and a short-term rental, no. It is a great opportunity for folks to test the waters of life in TV without the stress of dealing with an agent.
We took advantage of the lower airbnb prices and stayed in a patio villa in citrus grove, but I know how to be quiet and respectful :) they may impose a rule saying airbnbs must have a minimum week long stay in the future? Also sending love out to Gizmo. That was really cool that he wanted to do his jokes as a puppy this week :)
Fun video as usual guys. I'll about though, it was harder to concentrate after hearing about Gizmo being sick.... Prayers for the sweet little baby. Here's a joke for Gizmo. I used to work in a circus. I was a human cannonball until I got fired!!
Happy belated mother's day Linda! Your show is perfect. Don't listen to Winston. Finally got our Lifestyle visit booked for the first week of October. I can't wait!!
My parents live in dunedin village. Waterlilly drive, next time im there ill ask them if they know you. I like going there to visit, villages is always a fun weekend.
Many years ago my parents wanted to make sure my grandparents had comfortable living quarters so they put my Mom’s parents on one floor of a double block and my Dad’s on the other. My folks lived in one house of the double block and their parents on the other. After both sets of parents passed away my folks rented the two apartments in the double block to different people over the years with one man staying decades in one of the apartments. The renters were all fine people and no one rowdy or wild but they still did damage to the property. My parents said, “don’t bring a washer or dryer up the back steps because you’ll break the steps.” They did not listen and the steps were broken causing $$$ in repairs for my folks. Then my folks were told by one renter that there were no tiles left in his shower. It appears he threw tiles out as they loosened rather than telling my parents the tile was loose. The entire shower needed have all new tiles put in for $$$. One tenant smoked constantly yellowing the walls which required cleaning and painting. It goes on and on. These were “good tenants” and did not mean harm to the property but when it is not your house you don’t worry much about the property. My folks told me that I should not want to inherit the house as it renting can be a lot of hassles. Bottom line: renters are mostly good folks but if it isn’t your house the concern is not as deep. A lot of rentals around you is not optimal.
I'm sure the number of Air B&B's has something to do the large number of Snow Birds. They are gone now but a lot of those houses still need to be paid for. And they do the Air B&B thing to get some money. It should not be a huge inconvenience. And if it is, the owners should be made aware.
I’m sitting here in my kitchen in good old Ireland ☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪. Really enjoying your content, seeing how the other half lives!!! You have great content so down to earth. Thank you both so much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏

Al believes he knows your word scramble. 😊A very informative video as always. We always learn something new. So fun to also see a pop up photo of us flying. ✈️Please share that one with Linda and I in the back. 🥰 Our daughter Liza bought a inflatable kayak that arrived yesterday. She is ready to launch it. I’m certainly not going! I’m with Linda on the alligator fear. Crystal or Rainbow River but not these ponds as it’s mating season. Are we going to lose a daughter?🐊 I read some of the viewers comments on Cushing’s disease. Very encouraging. Sending love and prayers for Gizmo.🙏♥️

Another great video. Always appreciate hanging out with you. The word scramble was better this week. The clue is a nice sentiment. Sending good vibes to Gizmo.
Jerry and Linda, I had two poodles and the vet tried to tell us at various times around the ages of 13 and 15 both independent of each other that they had Cushings disease. I spent thousands of dollars going through the tests and at the end of a lot of money the tests came out inconclusive. Both dogs went on live very productive lives one until 19 years and the other just past 18. So the diagnosis of Cushings, I feel is what they resort to after they have done every test under the sun and can’t pin anything down. I could not even really get them to give me symptoms that were easy to understand. It was like pulling teeth to get the vets to lay things out in a simple way. It really cost a lot of money on testing and all came to nothing.
We're not really moviegoers so were decades behind which works out well as we pick up $1 DVDs at second hand stores. It also helps to be old enough to forget if you've already seen it 😁
In 1971 I went for grad school to UF in Gainesville. I had never been to Gainesville and it was right in the middle of a really bad lovebug infestation. I wondered what in the world I had gotten myself into !
We look forward to this every week. We hope to do a lifestyle visit next summer. Get well soon Gizmo!! We love you! Your mom and dad have a great show!!
We had our AC unit fail on Fourth of July Weekend a couple of years ago. Obviously we could not get a repair or replacement easily due to the time of year and holiday weekend. Luckily, I had a temporary solution to the problem already in place. When we moved south in 2010, I purchased 2 small window AC units at Walmart. And although our HOA prohibits window units, our neighbors were quite understanding when we installed them for a few days until we could get a brand new Trane AC unit. I've used those 2 AC units for both sons when they had similar issues over the years. I store them in the garage on a rolling shelf for emergencies just like the July 4th issue we had. I usually place one in our bedroom and one in our kitchen window. Sleeping is comfortable and the house stays cool enough to live for a few days.
Sorry to hear that the Brownwood theater is permanently closing -- doesn't really make sense to me. Hoping Gizmo is doing well despite his health issues. Keep the informative and fun shows coming. Bug off, Winston, Bye Bye.
Your videos are always amazing and make me happy 😊. I almost can’t believe Winston, oh well…bye bye to Winston. I’m very sorry that Gizmo doesn’t fell well. I’m hoping he’ll feel better soon…I love that little guy.
We love your show! Love the word scramble! My husband and I solve it right after we watch the video! This week it took us a little bit longer, but we got it! Gizmo was so adorable as a puppy! The jokes were especially funny this week! We loved them, and laughed very hard! We are working on getting our lifestyle visit planned. Bruce and Toni-Ann from RI ❤
I enjoyd today`s episode…felt like Linda was a bit „out of it“ because of Gizmo. Understandibly - our current 6 mo old puppy has also been a bit „off“ and it does worry us, even slept on the couch to keep an eye on her in the night! But we have also been where you are now, with an aging dog and it is a hard time…keeping you in my prayers!
My ex husband the bad car dealer from @#$& went to auction to buy a golf cart for one of our employees because he lost his license years ago drunk driving. I said that's a big no it has to be registered and insured because it's motorized and he will need a license. So my husband bought it anyway. Ralph drove that cart about a week 1/2 a mile to 1 of our car lots . Cops stopped him and impounded golf cart and took Ralph to jail for driving on revoked license.
I'm glad you pay no attention to the "Winstons"... Your shows are ALWAYS entertaining, informative and fun! I truly enjoy your commentary, your activities and sweet Gizmo. Just keep doing what you're doing!
Agree! You two report on TV doins all the time. I look forward to Mondays because of you ❤

Given all the rules at the villages (like painting your house), its hard to understand they are not regulating rentals.

I'm sure the number of Air B&B's has something to do the large number of Snow Birds. They are gone now but a lot of those houses still need to be paid for. And they do the Air B&B thing to get some money. It should not be a huge inconvenience. And if it is, the owners should be made aware.
Loved the pictures of Linda during your lifestyle visit.
I have had 3 Frenchies that had Cushing's and they did okay for a long time. I had them on meds.
Cushing Disease can be controlled with medication. I have a horse who has Cushings and has done well on a medication called Prasend
I finally “got here”! Enjoying it, and hope to run into you somewhere!
Vets have said all my older dogs have had Cushings. Look into it before spending a lot of money. Liver enzymes go up in older dogs. 👍
Baby Gizmo was adorbs, now he is just handsome lol.
Great video 👍👍
I’m sitting here in my kitchen in good old Ireland ☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪. Really enjoying your content, seeing how the other half lives!!! You have great content so down to earth. Thank you both so much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏
Thank you! We hope to see your beautiful country someday!
How about lowering the golf cart age from 90 max to 80 max?
I think that you two and Gizmo are the main reason I watch your channel (along with the cart tours). I'll be 80 in October and will probably never live in the Villages, but I live there vicariously through you. I hope you don't get burnt out since I realize that the channel consumes a lot of your personal time.
Thank you William! It is time consuming but we love it.
Hopefully your Vet will place Gizmo on a treatment plan that will have him feeling better soon. Hugs to you all

He is a smart man. If Liza needs some advice on where to go, have her give me a call. She will be just fine. Gotta love her spunk.
Yes… I agree.. the cooking episodes are fun
Hi, we have retirement villages in Australia, but no Bells & Whistles. We have our own lovely
little home & my ill husband has cleaning services every week, but I'm his major Carer.
What happens to v. ill older people in Villages ? Enjoy your retirement & lifestyle.
There are transitional care services here. There are also assisted living homes.

Linda,Jerry- we completed our lifestyle visit and drank the Kool-Aid!! We bought a home yay!! Thank you for all your helpful info!! see ya when we get there.
love you guys. PS - Our Molly had Cushings for years. Hey - gizmo should be wearing his own Jerry and Linda T-shirt as well. :)
He has one!
I look forward to Mondays now, thanks to the two of you! Sending prayers for Gizmo, he's very special. Pay NO attention to the trolls! Your show is fun, entertaining and I always learn something! Thanks so much!

I just hate that Gizmo is not feeling well. I can only hope that it's not that disease and that he recovers soon. Get Well Gizmo!

In 1971 I went for grad school to UF in Gainesville. I had never been to Gainesville and it was right in the middle of a really bad lovebug infestation. I wondered what in the world I had gotten myself into !
Yes! Many, many of us DO watch over Gizmo and hope he gets better.
I'm here 20 years and live in Silver Lake and I love your program. Hope you keep doing them. Anne Biggers

Sad to hear about the Brownwood theater. My husband and and I a saw a movie there on our 2018 lifestyle visit. It was a beautiful place.
How boring could you be if you kayak with the alligators? Not boring at all. I betcha Winston wouldn't do it. lol
😁😅🤣😅😁
We look forward to this every week. We hope to do a lifestyle visit next summer. Get well soon Gizmo!! We love you! Your mom and dad have a great show!!
Thank you, Jeaninne. 😁😁😁
Great idea!
What is the lowest cost lifestyle visit? The highest?
Great show!! Prayers for Gizmo. Winston needs to get the stick out. Thank you for all you do putting the show together. Great pic of the ducks!!
Sorry about Gizmo, We had a Doxie that had Cushing's for many years and with meds, she lived to 17
We love your show!
I hope Gizmo starts feeling better. 🐶
A private tutor 🤣🤣😂 dying
does a polaris 2 or 4 seater count as a golf car....in other words would it be allowed all the same privileges as a golf cart at the villages.
No, we checked on it.
As a dog mom, I know how concerned you must be. Lots of prayers coming your way for Gizmo! ❤ 🙏❤️
Just wondering if the residents in the villages have to deal with sand blowing around and getting in your homes
It is not too bad for us.
