  • A MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE ON UA-cam: Glen Campbell performs the instrumental version of "Love is Blue" on guitar. The song with lyrics describes the components of lost love with references to colors as emotions: blue, gray, red, green, and black. (Reminds me of Lorrie Morgan's hit song "Something in Red," 1991.) Music composed by André Popp. Lyrics (French) written by Pierre Cour in 1967. English-language lyrics written by Bryan Blackburn. The version you most likely remember is French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat's, recorded in late 1967. Mauriat's "Love is Blue" was also an instrumental production and, at least at that time, became the only number-one hit by a French lead artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. ~continued~
Getting back to Glen's cover, this track can only be found on a yet-to-be digitized album, 'The Artistry of Glen Campbell' (Limited Collector's Edition, Double LP 1972). Here's to all the colors of love, yes, even blue. ~Dee, BringBackMyYesterday Channel on UA-cam. [Photo Credit: m wrona] [Copyright Owner/Content Claim by: EMI Music Publishing, Audiam (Publishing)]
