It's really awesome to have found him some years ago because my voice is just like his and it's sometimes quite hard to make cover songs fit with my vocal range (low baritone) and register but TWB's songs are all just _perfect_ to cover plus he's such a great songwriter that it's never a bad time to play or hear a White Buffalo tune aye. My GF and I are finally gonna get to see him this summer with a ton of other great artists (Big Sky Festival in Montana) and I'm super stoked to see him. Cheers and happy new year man.

I was not a soldier but some of my friends were, (I was a volunteer firefighter first responder) and i dont feel right singing the line "country I was a soldier for you" and would like to change it to "they" in honor of all veterans (my grandfather was in the Navy).
i hope this would be ok.

I have this album and a few others, and i've been listening to it ever since. To me, they are one of my favorite artists. Jake writes some of the most relatable songs to me.
When I considered to end my life 2 years ago, this song made me reach out for help instead. I still cry when I hear this song as a reminder of where I was and where I am today. Thank you!

Never have i ever seen my mother cry in my entire life. This song made her remember her mother (died of cancer) in some way i couldn't have suspected it when i showed it to her. The moment me and my mother had with this song is irreplaceable and i am for ever grateful for this.

What always fascinated me about professional singers is how they are able to get through songs like this. I mean how on earth do you pull off the 'mother, tried to behave for you, now im a diggin a grave for you, it was all i could do' part without your voice breaking? My throat always feels like its made of solid rock when he gets to that part even when im not trying to sing along.
He has such a unique voice with a wide range and good breath, and his lyrics are compelling. Thank God for SOA, or I might never have heard this beauty.

I don't know how my music could ever come close to this. You describe the sentiment so well...... Most of the time I try to not follow sad things, because my life has had enough sadness and hardship without dwelling on the sadness around me too much. But there are those days that I feel strong enough (or angry enough) to face the truth, and try to do my part. I don't usually watch any violent/realistic series' like "The Punisher", because I cry entirely too easily about the injustice of it all. But today I was so glad that I did, because I heard this song for the first time. Of course, you guessed it.... I cried. You reminded me that it's time I pull my guitar back out of the case and get back to working on my own songs for social change, and I am grateful for that.
