Just discovered this channel today, and I have binge watched all the videos! And with every series, the improvement is huge! Definitely learned a lot about London, so thank you very much ♥
Only ever knew of shadwell via the DLR. so much diversity and a sense of community. Shows exactly why those in power could make things so bad for us individually but as a community we'd survive whatever was cast upon us.
Think I walked through Shadwell from WhoteChapel.Quite an electrifying experience, best way to describe it,I'm glad that I've travelled about and seen different places.
yeh, to sir with love was filmed there 1965 ish, plus to the south, juniper street, tench street, rreardon street, and later during 1995, wapping lane...for number two...
Wonderful films. Shadwell has been my 'manor' since '91. Has changed so much since then, so it's lovely to hear what it was like, back in the day. Great stuff!
Wow so many hidden gems round London thanks for sharing this videos i thorougly enjoyed every single one of the videos it's me proud to be a Londoner .
Thanks Peter. Yes Norman and John were both very nice to work with and as Shadwell natives, they were able to offer insight I could have never researched. Kudos!
Indeed very different, Not sure about the narrators, although they do add to the background tales. Your voice, informed of what to say would be just as acceptable. Maybe something of th background of arrivals of peoples and its past history if you do another of this place. Thanks for your time, well done

this is a terrific one - quite emotional
I vaguely remember a grave at St. Paul's marked "Pirate Jack" (or similar) with a skull and crossbones on it -- couldn't find it the last time I went.
Brilliant. Very professional.

Did anyone else spot the man dancing at 4.50. He's giving it his all. Great video by the way.
Never even noticed it behind the camera but yes, he's going for it, full on. Well spotted and thanks for watching.
"Paul the pub landlord used to spray people with the soda siphon if they passed out in the pub".. lol that's entertainment - I'd drink there any time

Those 'narrators' are proper locals, Paul. *Maybe* put in to tell us what it was really like.
intrusive music. had to watch on mute and read subtitles
Its just preposterous
Shadwell Army
Great narrator, terrible background muzak.
Super annoying background music ruined this video.
Only here to do homework
As valid a reason as you can get.
Iraq
Very interesting- shame about the unnecessary annoyingly distracting musaque & the butchers porn.
