(Arcade) Wardner / Pyros - No Death Clear, 1CC 1080p60

Completing the game on 1 credit isn't very tough, and a no death clear isn't too much harder especially if you cheese the last boss out like I did with the fairies!
I really like that there are many secrets to be found, and different ways to complete the levels. For example, I basically skip most of the 3rd level by riding the bird at the cost of more gold and missed powerups.
I was really hoping to get a "perfect" run, as in no damage taken. I almost succeeded in this, except for being hit once in level 2 at approx 5:17. I may possibly revisit the game to either attempt this or maybe go for a max-out/counterstop scoring run at some point.
Gameplay was recorded with WolfMAME v.220 using default settings. As with all my runs - no TAS (tool assistance), cheats, hacks, or save states are used. INP file available on MARP:

So many secrets. 😲 It looks like the hardest part is remembering where to go sometimes. And when in doubt, just ride your dragon past everyone to the end of the level. 😁

I remember playing this a lot at the arcade. One glitch we exploited was on one of the ladders in the 3rd stage where you could climb to a certain point then jump off and get 1UP every time then repeat.

I think what you're referring to is the 1up I got at approx. 9:40 in the video...it can be gotten as many times as you want by just going down that ladder then coming back up (just have to be wary of the rocks each time).
Nice little secret, very cool that you found it and exploited it back in the day when it saved you actual money! 😇

yeah they can lay waste to bosses so fast, It's kind of funny to watch the last boss not even last 2 seconds.
