I started two weeks ago and it seems to be working. Have a couple beers now with no cravings. Feel tired a lot more than usual.

I took this for 4 days but it made me so sleepy, almost comatose. I have mild alcohol addiction so I’m just going to quit it and stay off alcohol on my own. Whats the point of feeling that tired and messed up and not being drunk?

I've been taking 50mg for the past 2 years and I feel that I am starting to drink more and more now even tho the medication initially lowered my drinking about 50-60%. Thinking about trying 100mg dose, would that help do you think?

I cannot get a straight answer anywhere… if I’m a current heavy drinker and start taking Naltrexone, will it tell my brain I’m no longer drinking and start the withdrawal process?

the idea is that naltrexone acts as a blocker in your brain. If you do the sinclair method, the idea is you take 1 to 2 hours before you start drinking and over time you will not want to drink as much. Take a look at some of the videos from Thrive Alcohol Recovery. They have great videos that explains how it all works.

@@Adrian-yi8fl withdrawing from alcohol probably will still cause withdrawal if thats ur body chemistry.

I am a heavy drinker and I just started taking it (50mg late afternoon)and I still want to drink but recently when I do I feel super tired and don’t have the drive to keep drinking. It also for me has greatly reduced the desire to power drink early in the night to peak. I’m still trying to figure it out but I’m staying open minded because I really love alcohol. Life long anxiety and alcohol has been my escape but as I get older it feels more like a poison.
