    One of the best drivers I have ever reviewed...took out the 2nd day and absolutely crushed it all day. I can't play it cuz it's blue...come on Rick hit up home depot and grab a can of flat black spray paint and paint the sucker

    Bought one of these second hand a few days ago, first thing i did before i went for it was look through your channel for a review as i have with all of my clubs. You are yet to steer me wrong mate, thank you.
    Took it out for its maiden voyage and only missed two fairways with it all day! (thats a pretty big deal for me haha) Absolutely love it!

    I hit this driver, the f9 amongst others for about 2 hours.
    This by far excelled in terms of desperation, i went in store thinking I was buying a cobra F9 but it just shows that a thorough play of clubs is a must when making a purchase.
    What was even crazier is I ended up with a regular shaft which I was carrying further then the stiff !?.
    Just shows you then everyone’s swing is different and you gotta do your due diligence.
    Even my golf pro was surprised I ended up with a regular shaft but the numbers don’t lie.
    Not to mention it saved me $300 as it was superseded....by 6 months!!!

      When you have a poor sounding driver (such as the Epic) then this does taint your view of the club especially if you have come out of a great sounding driver. IN the case of the Epic for me the sound was accompanied with poor feel

    I've played Mizuno irons for years. That driver looks very interesting. The sound you describe actually would be a positive to me, I love hearing that echo crack back at me. Thanks for the review, really enjoy the new format. 8-12hdcp, 105-110mph driver speed.

    I just watched this video yesterday and went into Golf Galaxy looking for a 54 degree wedge and came out with this driver instead. It was in the used section but looked practically brand new and was $150 cheaper than the new price. And I was hitting it just as straight but 10-20 yds further than my current driver.

    I currently have this in my bag and I will say that I strongly prefer its sound to that of any other manufacturer I've tested (Taylormade, Cobra, Titleist, Callaway, Wilson Staff, Ping, and probably others). The feel is excellent and results give me yardages consistently longer than my M2 2017 or Ping G LST. I love the blue, but I have to say I can see it getting old for a lot of people. For me personally, the Taylormade M1/M2 2017 are the best looking drivers I've ever seen but I can't get along with the sound/feel. Thanks for the review as always, Rick. I highly enjoy your videos and always look forward to more.

    I agree totally about the spin generated when you are a low speed player. I found that my spin was higher than my usual driver when I tested the ST180. (Up around 3500) My speed was 85 mph. I found the Ping G400 Max driver dropped my spin down to 2200 rpm

    In about a month I will be fitted for the ST180 driver. I do like traditional black, but if it consistently straightens out my 300+ yarders, swing speed 108 to 115, I will forgive the color. Your video helped me make the decision.....Thanks.

  • @tontoj11
    @tontoj11 6 років тому

    I was really excited to try this driver out after hearing great things about it. Wasn't big on the looks of the shiny blue, but that's super low priority for me. I had already tested out the F8, the M3, and M4 and was planning on going with the F8 but had to try this one at least. I just could not get over that absurdly loud "tink" sound on impact. I don't care what the numbers might have been like there is no way I could deal with that over the top sound on impact every shot. I hope Mizuno does something to manage that in the future as this was easily the loudest driver I have ever hit.

  • @scottcarroll9201

    I'm more partial to the look of the Cobra F8. That's such a sleek looking driver. I plan on getting one over the Summer. Hopefully it performs well enough for me to game it.

    Rick I’ve just purchased the Rogue sub zero, and got a custom fit. What you said about a slower swing speed (90-95) to be warned. The Rogue out performed my FT3 by 10-15y. I’ve not tried on the course due to bobbins weather

  • @marksmits1546
    @marksmits1546 6 років тому +2

    Hi Rick, thanks for the review. With that numbers it would be a no brainer for me. I currently use the Nike Vapor Fly Pro driver witch also is blue (partly because of your review of the club), so color isn't an issue. I recently hit the Taylormade M3, M3 440 and M4 and I find these drivers also loud, but not as good looking as the Mizuno. I hope you post the review of the GT 180 soon. On Wednesday I have a fitting scheduld with the Mizuno rep , here in the Netherlands, and I love to know your opinion on this driver also.

    Thx for another honest/sincere review Rick. So much of buying a golf club comes down to those little subjective things like color, shape, feel, etc. I’m still using the first driver I ever bought (orig M1) but I’ve tested literally every club that’s been released since, just for fun, & I haven’t seen any real big performance jumps. That being said, I actually really love the look of this driver 😂 & will now be testing it to see if there’s at least some time performance gain to justify snapping it up.

    I'd like Rick to do a showdown of several of the non-adjustable clubs. Tiger says he doesn't like adjustable hosels as he can feel the difference that extra weight causes. So what are the options if we want a good club with a glued head or just hosel adjustment? I highly doubt the average golfer can deal with all the adjustment available on some of the new clubs - its a bit like getting a new car and a tool kit for you to adjust power, acceleration, MPG, wheel tracking, and suspension (have I seen the future - agh!). Most of us prefer a old style club with no adjustment or just loft.
