My kit is a Pearl Valencia circa 1960's modified/modernized and converted to be an electronic kit.
I replace a broken cajon pedal cable with a brake cable but found it a little more thick hence making the kick pedal a little more stiff but it worked!!!!!!!!!
Nice project. I have to add this to my project list.
Thanks. I have to admit I don't use it that much. I keep meaning to make time to play it.
cant beat engineering something for free.👍🏻🍻
I know. That the best thing.
Dude this is pretty cool.
johnsondrummer yeah it was fun to make. It was easier that I thought it was going to be. Fun to play too.
Duane Bailey Drumming heck ya man
awesome idea, thank you bro.
no problem. I like making stuff from other bits I find.
Thank for sharing...
Meinl makes a direct pedal that is excellent. I picked one up on eBay for $40
That's great to hear. Ebay is great if you have access to it in your country. I don't and this was made from bits I had laying around.
Dude. Nice
Got some great ideas from that - thanks!
Glad to hear it. Sorry for the late reply. How did you get on making yours?
awesome ... full McGyver
Hey man great video! I made one very similar based off your design! I am happy with it but I’m finding the cable to be a little bit too stiff for the shorter double strokes, did you have this issue? Tried a few adjustments with the spring and the tension but it didn’t help just kind of made it more resistant
No sorry I didn't. Perhaps taking the inner cable out of the sleeve and rub powered graphite on it. It may slide easier when put back together. Good luck.
How do you mount that small cymbal on top of the hi-hat-clutch? Looks good!
I had a part of the original 1960's hardware that came with the kit that had a screw through the side that clamps to the rob when tightened.
couldnt you make the pedal shorter ?
bro no se te rompe el cable , tengo un pedal para cajon dixon y el cable siempre se rompe , como lo puedo solucionar ??
How do you find the durability of these rigs, the cable mainly?
To be honest,I haven't really used it much.
did he say Piddle?
HAHA. Nope, that's my accent. :)
