I'm almost 30 myself and would love to do what you've done. Be proud of your accomplishments because no one can take that from you. I'll be there to visit next month, I can't wait. Thanks for another fun vlog
Just returned from Bangkok. Mixed impressions but ultimately you would need to prefer living in a densely populated, heavily congested urban location with serious air pollution issues on many days to live in Bangkok. When there, make sure to stay within a short walking distance to a Sky train station, otherwise you could be stuck in heavy traffic for long periods of time in transit. Bangkok has everything, great place to visit but I personally would never choose to live there for an extended period.
We love Thailand and escape the London winter every year. Have a great time in Bangkok! We are packing to go to Chiang Mai in 2 weeks and we can't wait to return to Thailand.
"Do you think it's weird to eat by yourself?" Some people are just too afraid to venture out and about on their own. I eat and go out alone 💯 of the time in Bangkok. I am not the only one and literally nobody cares! Your English is impressive btw.
I'm smiling while I was watching your vlog. So fun, as I'm a half Thai half Milano who live in BKK . I love your attitude about Thailand. I'm your new Sub.
Great video and congratulations with your life decisions! I grew up in the Netherlands. After staying in Bangkok for 3 months I made the decisions to sell or rent out my apartment next year and move over to Bangkok because of the complete different lifestyle I have over there,. it's safe, people are friendly better quality of life! I miss my daily walks at Benchakitti and Benchasiri parks,..
Your videos are interesting and calming. Along with your list of places in Asia to visit, I suggest Chiang Mai. Luang Prabanf, Laos and Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. All the best.
Good for you! I like your sense of adventure & willing to look & try new things/areas. It is sad but true what you said @12:25 but no worries & never feel like you have to explain anything to people that assume such nonsense. Enjoy Thailand! My wife & I lived there for years & soon will be moving back.
thanks for sharing part of your life in thailand. i am dual citizen (Thai and USA). i'm thinking of moving to thailand in 5-10 years full-time. your videos and others alike got me thinking of moving.
i actually liked going to eat myself. I am female and straight, but Thai waitresses would many times flirt with me and smile. So actually it was fun for me I dont understand why are people bothered doing things alone, i actually prefer being by myself
as a middle-aged asian-american man living in california, i really appreciate your outside the box, independent attitude and lifestlye. i have been to thailand several times and would love to retire there someday. keep up the cool videos and wish you all the best
Just so you don’t confuse your viewers, you’re not on a tourist visa. You’re from a country that has a visa exemption. You are visa exempt for 60 days and can extend it another 30 days. Then leave the country. Come back and repeat. I hope that helps others.
@@burcuigitYes, you are from one of the privileged Visa-Exempt countries. Basically, automatic 30-days which was recently amended to 60 days with an extra 30-day extension as Thai immigration wants to boost tourism. You have to leave after this time (like a "visa run") and then comeback so they can keep tabs on you. If you keep coming back in right away it does raise red flags to immigration offices whether you are trying to stay long-term like a retiree. Typically, leaving Thailand for at least 30 days then coming back in solves this problem. Just try not to leave for 1 day and then come right back in!
JAPAN is a Must-Do and Must-Go. Especially now that the Yen is weaker yet again (exchange with the US dollar). I am heading to Tokyo again in January 2025 and going to Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and then flying to Bangkok after that. Won't cost much as my August 2024 trip to Tokyo for 14 days barely cost me anything. Thailand is still relatively inexpensive. Japan is "on-sale".
Hi. Thanks for that. Seems you have got have got it all together. I admire that you can live away from home and can still put in 40 hours work a week in a foreign location you are now residing.. Cheers.
thanks a lot! It helps a lot that it's not my first time visiting Thailand so I have less things to figure out etc. Probably moving to another place would be different! thank you for your comment ☺
Just got pointed towards your video, always interesting seeing new bloggers on Bangkok. If you have any questions for another Dutch expat that has been in Bangkok for 12 years now (corporate working, pretty connected and pretty settled by now) let me know.
C’mon girl! Eat that pizza with your hands!😂 Love your channel. Your awesome. Good luck to you. Hope I see a lot more of you in Thailand. Gonna retire there in 4-5 years. Be safe.
Are you still around Bangkok ? In this November there is a Golden mount temple fair which is held only 10 days each year (8-17 Nov) it is a temple fair which has street food, rides, fairground game and the hi-light is climbing to the top of the golden mountain to view Bangkok at night. Don’t miss it. BTW, happy Loy krathong day
I am a half -thai person, I'm a subscriber and viewer of your channel, but sorry when i say that. 30 is not really old. I'm almot 50 years old and grew up in Thailand in the 1970ies...
Hello there~ I'm 51 years old asian US immigrants, I also now moved to Bangkok 4 months ago, and found a condo near onnut area. I'm just curious what other people who moved here feeding them self everyday all day..? I don't mind to eat out everyday if I was just visiting here, but now that I'm actually living here. I just can't possibly getting 3 meals a day by going out. I did that for first month, and I get stomach sick everyday. At the beginning I always try to get my meals from either food court or whatever I can find on the street just to stay in my budget since I don't have stable income anymore. Nowadays, I cook most of my meal at home something just simple.. How about you? How do you feed yourself?
I hope someone sees my message. I’m coming to Bangkok mid January for a month with my baby and I’m looking for a live-in nanny for a month or probably more and I’m not sure how I can get it done

Once smitten with Thailand you will remain in its fangs forever! Do you think immersion into Thailand is only possible by learning Thai to be able to swim in the Thail language and have a nattter with the locals?
True! Yes, I mean in any case for any country, the only way to really 'blend in' and really understand their morals, culture and more is by speaking the language.
I am a Turkish Cypriot, 50, retired English Linguist and Teacher. Is around 2000 dollars a month sufficient for a comfortable life in Bangkok? I am single
My question is why you don't want to live in Turkey? But I feel I already know the answer :) I'm from UK, but have a villa in Turkey. I also lived in Thailand and Malaysia so there is no bias. Just curious.
Hm, years ago I thought about how could it would be to live in Istanbul but recently I'm not so sure about that anymore :D. It's too crowded and touristy, but love being there to visit family. - may be a vacation summer place like Bodrum would be nice tho.
@@burcuigit I lived in istanbul when it was good just before erdogan took over, no chance I'd live there now for many reasons. My place is near fethiye. I'm considering Thailand again though but not Bangkok, too busy for me 🙂 good to see adventurous folk like you.
I just want to clarify something for you. People asking you what you do and how do you fund yourself, is mainly because most of the people that do vlogs like this in Thailand tend to tell everyone in their first few videos. "Hi, here I am in Bangkok, I left my job in XXX, sold up and am here for XXX time to do XXX while working as a XXX". Most digital nomads are quite upfront about how they fund themselves. If people don't do that then guys will start to second guess why and how, which can then lead to assuming stereotypes which clearly don't apply in your case. Hope this helps as you mentioned you had to justify yourself being a woman. You don't, however when being compared to other vloggers the audience will wonder why you haven't been upfront about it, because other people are. Also, I suppose people like putting other people into boxes, lol.
She mentioned returning home after this latest stay in Bangkok. Probably saved or borrowed the money for this adventure. Her online marketing gig would likely only generate enough income to pay her living expenses in Thailand with little left over. Many of these so called digital nomads flock to countries like Thailand, like many retirees on a pension, because it allows them to afford a better lifestyle than in their home countries.
