"I just hadn't had that feeling anywhere else" - with that exact feeling it started with me many years ago. So many details that you are describing - all of this got me as well back then. Now 15 years later still living in Thailand and still not intending to leave.

I think the special thing about Thailand is the Thai people, they care about other people's feelings and are friendly even if they don't know each other. I think this is a unique feature that is different from other places. This is hard to explain until you experience it by self

      Thank you.
I’m Thai, once I met western family by the pier and they wanted to go to the other side of Chaopraya river with lots of questions on their faces but they didn’t ask anyone.
So I told them which ferry to go there but they looked at me as if I were a scammer. 😅
I thought they might visit Thailand for the first time. They were not wrong, actually as a scammer I needed them to pay me big smile.😊

Yes I concurred…I’m Thai living in California for 40 years. The caring and compassion are ingrained in most Thais, I’m Catholic by birth, married to a Filipina who is devoted in Catholic which shapes me to be a better person, but being surrounded by Buddhist`s teaching which is also taught in Catholic..the good teachings are like, Karuna, Mettra, Pranee = Kind pleasing??, Compassion, Kindness are the teaching ingrained in MOST up-standingThais but , of course, not all…

@@tettok8431 In Buddhist calls 4 sublime states of mind ka, the first three are about good wishes for others like loving kindness(metta), compassion (Karima), sympathetic (mythical) and the forth is about keep ourselves in equanimity. Normally it’s written in books 😅I’m not sure it might be written on our blood line for many Thais. There are good and bad people like anywhere else.

Hi kdrama lover, I'm a Turkish woman mid 30s who also just moved in Bangkok last month. I learned many things from my old office works. Do something before being too late also why not. In here life is more cheaper of course and more delicious, exciting. Discovering a new culture\country is an extra beauty. I also choose Thailand because close to all other asian countries, so reachable. I'm trying to do my remote job too lately. Hope everything goes well for both of us and for who needs luck.

The statement @ 1:30 hits the nail on the head. I'm from Germany and currently in Bangkok, same cultural background as you btw. People back home don't understand how addicting traveling can be, they get their 2 weeks all inclusive vacation and are happy with their life. But if you seek adventure, life in western Europe is not where you can get it. Second time in Thailand and next trip in January to Malaysia. China is such an underrated place if you seek your own adventures, first time in 2017 and hopefully making it back in 2025.

I'm coming to Bangkok for the first time in December for a month. Ive watched hundreds if not thousands of videos about Bangkok and Thailand in general.I feel like I have a pretty good idea about what to expect but I wont know if I love it until my feet are finally on the ground there. I love watching videos like this because it reinforces my beliefs that Bangkok is an amazing place and gets me excited about coming there. Thanks for the video. Maybe I'll see you vlogging on the streets there and come say hi. I'll be doing the same. 😂

HI, nice video, I’m from the states I’ve lived in Thailand since 1997. I’ve seen so many changes and like you said it’s a central location for all the other Asian countries. I love Thailand now that I’m traveling I miss it. there’s no place like it. I’ve lived in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong. Malaysia, Indonesia and a few other places. Now I’m in Dubai for the last 3 years I also vlog but I go live as a dj and rapper. Anyway when I’m in Thailand I’ll reach out to you, my tour finishes here in March for Ramadan so I’ll be going to Asia. Bless you all the best. BTW I use to work in Siam Square where you walked pass my job was Novotel with my band and my favorite mall was Central world.

Yes you hit on a few good points that are often not mentioned by other youtubers living in SE Asia - primarily that you are more active, doing more activities, experiencing more, always learning, and really just constantly walking, exercising, interacting with locals and expats. Then when you go back home, people go back to their usual, mundane routine. That's a big part of what makes Asia more exciting, it is a completely magical world and you live a totally different life there.

Will only be in Bangkok for a couple of days. I will check out other areas such as Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya as well. While I am there, I will certainly be looking to see if it seems like a place I can live. I am in the United States now, and I feel the urge to explore and take in a different environment. Life here in the US is becoming incredulous! I feel like Thailand will be a great reprieve from this lifestyle. I am hoping I can find the western style amenities that I have become accustomed to, without the western style costs and the western style people! New sub, btw!

For someone that hasn't spent anytime in english speaking country you speak it very well. Did you learn from Netflix or school?

Not sure if you commented on this already, but are you finding it pretty easy to make/ find friends, like minded people in Bangkok? I hear there are a lot of meetup groups/ FB groups, etc.

I like the way you think! I recently moved to Bangkok too. If you are looking for new friends we can go somewhere together and make vlogs 💓 I'm new to youtube but very excited about vlogging!

3:09 as long as camera is pointing at you or no one in particular, Thai people wouldn’t feel like they are unsafe so just keep this in mind.

Thanks for sharing. It's heartwarming for us as a local to know foreigners like our city. A lot of Thai don't appreciate this and actually think the west is much better. For me its the place that makes you feel welcome is the key. I travel to Europe often and find European are cold and sometimes rude. I love Europe for the beauty of the architecture and landscape but people are not so welcoming - especially for Asians

Moving to Thailand is easy, unless you really have to 'go native' in Nakhon Nowhere. The Farang ghettoes make in the cities make it so easy. It's moving BACK that is tough, but you are enjoying your time in Thailand so I'll leave it there.
