When I was barraging smoke devils during my hour of protection the defence xp/h wasn't even better than just meleeing at crabs. and of course, being hit constantly there when the option of meleeing for similar/better rates would just be mentally draining. If I did barrage slayer, then of course that would have ended slayer faster, but i'd just be stuck training melees in random areas for longer then
