Bruh, the level 83 was a legend. The temptation of the easy kill and easy money is just too much for most people. It takes a very long time to get 30 mil legitimately so an easy 30m is a really hard temptation. I got lured for about 150m back in pre-EOC OSRS. I had a guy talk to me for about a week, was good friends with him, asked me if I wanted to help him do a lure on the second week of hanging out. We ended up going to unsafe clan wars, I joined the team with the guy that he was "luring" for a Santa hat with bandos, whip, dfs, max gear at the time basically to "make him comfortable", got in the portal and the dude started barraging me after we got to the center of the map away from the portals. I also got "lured" in OSRS in 2020. Knew I was getting lured but was curious about the method - AFAIK it's still unpatched - Guy told me to hop to PVP world (obvious lure) but I had about 1B at the time and had 4m in my inventory and he kept trading to make sure it was in my inventory so I just did what he said to see what the lure was - we went to Lumbridge bank (safe area) in a PVP world, he stood in a spot near the bank doors and said "trade me" - I traded him and my character did some weird pathfinding and pushed me outside of the bank doors into PVP and his alt came in and started barraging me. Really interesting lure but definitely bug abuse imo. Jagex still hasn't patched it yet AFAIK. Best thing to do - if someone is asking you to do something in Runescape - just don't. Don't trade them, don't take any items, don't even talk to them. Ignore them and do what you're doing. Unless you're completely naked, no inventory, no gear, don't even risk helping someone because 90% of the time, it will end up being a lure. What's weird about this video is that it could have gone the other way - if Swede wanted to lure these lower-level guys (which he kind of did) he could lure them with the alt as bait, then kill them with his maxed account at the boat with no intention of ever rewarding people who were genuinely trying to help. People will be absolutely ruthless to gain gp in Runescape. It's sad in a lot of ways.

Interesting video from a psychological perspective. I think a lot of them suspected you to be a UA-camr due to how suspicious it sounds to ask somebody to help you take 30 mil into the wilderness, expecting you to give them something the moment you got to the chest. Then when you start opening chests, they likely began thinking that you weren't a UA-camr and there's no reward in it for them. I feel like a lot of these altruism-tests probably have people passing because they end the tests too early, so I liked the fact that you didn't just give them a reward the moment you got to the there, but made clear that they were getting nothing unless they attacked you, meaning they'd have to be a genuinely good person to pass the test.

Of course people suspect every logical alternative first, but with 31m on the table, the part of you that says "what if this guy really is a noob? what if this is just 31m on a silver platter" would be the loudest. Most of these pkers themselves aren't risking much, so they're more than happy to follow the bread trail to see where they end up. Can you imagine how much regret the average pker would feel if they were cautious, assumed this was a lure themselves, only to see this guy complaining in edgeville bank later on about how he lost all his keys to some other guy?
My biggest lure: I was about 12 years old. Just started playing the game back in 07/08. Didn't really know about the Wilderness. One day i walked around in Varrock in my brand new full black armour i was very proud of wearing. Then this guy came up to me and traded me some good stuffs and told me he would give me more if i followed him. I followed him deep into the Wilderness where he killed me and robbed me of my black armour. Obviously i was a naive child back then but i learned a life lesson that day.
Lol man I was the dumb 13 year old trying to lure people back in like 2004 or 05. I think I remember telling people that you can access the premium areas through a pass near the end of the wilderness.
Id be down. Im sure he could get other players to help him with these too. I don’t even play anymore but would love to watch more of this. Hopefully more players are genuine like that one guy

Funny subject, last night I logged in to f2p, found out I needed a bond. I walked to ge, seen a lvl 48 helping a lvl 4 learn the game, I just followed them around. The lvl 48 had been playing 3 months. After the lvl 4 left. I decided I should show the lvl 48 mems. So that's what we did! He loved POhs, we got him protection prays, then did waterfall quest. Fun times
these videos give me hope that there are still ppl who care about the old school community and haven't gotten poisoned by all the bad stuff that does go on in the game unfortunately. Great stuff!

This video was amazing. I haven’t played RS since I was 12 back in 2006 and have never watches RS content so I have no clue how this appeared in my feed but I’m glad it did. Back in the day, I was the most geared and highest level in my school with full dragon and a level 83 character. I had a friend that was a grade lower than me that came over to my house on a Saturday with his dad to watch a college football game. He saw me playing and was like “No way dude you play RS too, oh man you’re character is a beast” and asked if I could help him with something later that night when he gets home. Later that night he logs into his 73 character with full rune and tells me to follow him. I followed him and paused when he went to bring me into the wildy and was like “Dude what is this? What are you trying to do in the wildy?” He came up with something that made sense at the time so I went with him. Deep in the wildy he stopped and said “Wait can you hit me really quick? I need to test something.” So I hit him once and he yelled “STOP!” and I stopped. We kept trekking deeper into the wildy and at this point I got the x bones over my head. He then put on full mage gear and started nuking me. Little did I know, this guy had maxed out his magic skill and had been wearing rune to appear like he was less geared than me so I’d buy that he needed my help. I was a warrior through and through with only like 40 bow skill and 40 magic so he thoroughly demolished me and I lost everything I had worked countless hours to achieve. Two days later at school I ran into him on the playground and he acted like nothing was wrong so I hit him with a double leg takedown on the asphalt and, whilst on top of him in full mount, I told him “You’re going to go home and give me all of my gear back or I will kick your ass every day I see you.” He replied, fighting back tears, “Dude it’s only a game, calm down.” I responded, “Dude it’s only your face, calm down.” When I got home from school we hopped online and he gave me all my gear back :)
lol yeah if this game would have been big when I was in school, that could have started fights. Minecraft was new but never got into it, cod zombies were in its prime and gears of war. These kind of pc games seem insane I could see how people get hooked to it

I got lured at green dragons in wildy. Someone helped me get there, and stayed to chat and kill dragons with me. A random pker came and started attacking me, but he came to the rescue and ko'd him, which earned my trust. Then he dropped all his dragon hides on the ground. Kept clicking that one spot, but a player appeared underneath. Got skulled, and realized I've been bamboozled. Lost all my stuff. Now I have trust issues.

You're doing gods work, i loved this video, everyone except for that one guy near the end is the reason why i haven't been to the wildy since 2008 and cheered when they removed it, it's filled with crappy people that screw others out of their hard-earned equipment and items because they're too lazy to work for it themselves so they sit there in squads and jump people passing through or ruin new players experiences with the game and hurt the player base, i wish the duel arena was still as popular as it was back then because there was still some semblance of respect for each other in the fight. If you ever start playing RuneScape, you’ll never quit only take small breaks the game is sick

This video was amazing. I haven’t played RS since I was 12 back in 2006 and have never watches RS content so I have no clue how this appeared in my feed but I’m glad it did.
Back in the day, I was the most geared and highest level in my school with full dragon and a level 83 character. I had a friend that was a grade lower than me that came over to my house on a Saturday with his dad to watch a college football game. He saw me playing and was like “No way dude you play RS too, oh man you’re character is a beast” and asked if I could help him with something later that night when he gets home. Later that night he logs into his 73 character with full rune and tells me to follow him. I followed him and paused when he went to bring me into the wildy and was like “Dude what is this? What are you trying to do in the wildy?” He came up with something that made sense at the time so I went with him. Deep in the wildy he stopped and said “Wait can you hit me really quick? I need to test something.” So I hit him once and he yelled “STOP!” and I stopped. We kept trekking deeper into the wildy and at this point I got the x bones over my head. He then put on full mage gear and started nuking me. Little did I know, this guy had maxed out his magic skill and had been wearing rune to appear like he was less geared than me so I’d buy that he needed my help. I was a warrior through and through with only like 40 bow skill and 40 magic so he thoroughly demolished me and I lost everything I had worked countless hours to achieve.
Two days later at school I ran into him on the playground and he acted like nothing was wrong so I hit him with a double leg takedown on the asphalt and, whilst on top of him in full mount, I told him “You’re going to go home and give me all of my gear back or I will kick your ass every day I see you.”
He replied, fighting back tears, “Dude it’s only a game, calm down.”
I responded, “Dude it’s only your face, calm down.”
When I got home from school we hopped online and he gave me all my gear back :)
lol yeah if this game would have been big when I was in school, that could have started fights. Minecraft was new but never got into it, cod zombies were in its prime and gears of war. These kind of pc games seem insane I could see how people get hooked to it

I got lured at green dragons in wildy. Someone helped me get there, and stayed to chat and kill dragons with me. A random pker came and started attacking me, but he came to the rescue and ko'd him, which earned my trust. Then he dropped all his dragon hides on the ground. Kept clicking that one spot, but a player appeared underneath. Got skulled, and realized I've been bamboozled. Lost all my stuff. Now I have trust issues.

amazing video man. my only complaint is you should riducule the people luring a bit more. i think a message when you pull up with your max account something like " guess you should have helped huh? " because a lot of them probably just think youre a pker, not the other guy
I tried RS once for 10 mins and got a major headache from it way back in the day. Just stumbled upon this vid while having lunch. Like the vid, but what made me click the like button of this random youtuber I never seen before was the effect of the like button when you said to click it. gj man xD

@@emoimo4171 yeah i was dropped as a baby. I bled all over the place since I hit my head on the corner of a concrete step. My mom was piiiiiissed at my dad lol. She’s so over protective sometimes. Even to this day lol. You can still feel the little bump on my head though if you know where to look.

It is not “polite” to call someone morally wrong for defending themselves against someone trying to kill them, or to see if someone will make the right choice.
You being annoying and obnoxious, with an objectively incorrect take, is what makes it normal to also respond to you in such a way.
@@emoimo4171 bro it’s a game where part of the game involves killing the other players. My take was that there isn’t right or wrong. And if there was, he’s just as bad since it’s an elaborate lure. It’s just like dropping 30m on the ground having someone chase it into deep Wildy then attacking them.
It’s always impolite to attack someone’s intelligence. It’s not normal to respond in such a way. At least for adults. Children and teens haven’t matured fully yet and do so. But adults do not. Adults behaving that way are red flags.

You're doing gods work, i loved this video, everyone except for that one guy near the end is the reason why i haven't been to the wildy since 2008 and cheered when they removed it, it's filled with crappy people that screw others out of their hard-earned equipment and items because they're too lazy to work for it themselves so they sit there in squads and jump people passing through or ruin new players experiences with the game and hurt the player base, i wish the duel arena was still as popular as it was back then because there was still some semblance of respect for each other in the fight. There's a reason the wilderness is almost totally dead on a majority of worlds
