Congrats on finishing college! I live in Germany and went to three different appointments with surgeons in my area. One of them is really popular here and he genuienly knows a lot about his trans patients! Like what special needs they have, what the surgery means for us etc. I chose to go with him in the end even though I have to wait almost a year for my appointment. But it's ok. May will come sooner than I think and like you said this is something you only do once. I personally want to feel safe with my surgeon and like he can achieve the best possible result! Hope both our waiting is worth it in the end! 😊
Sorry to hear about the hangup with Mr. Yelland. :( I hope you get your surgery ASAP! I was so happy to see that you’d uploaded, by the way. I can’t believe how long you’ve been on T; it seems crazy to me that it’s been over two years.
I thought Dr. Yellend stop all together but obvs not, does he have a website so I can try and have him bc like you I really really love his results. And it sucks what happened to you but in like probably under 2years you would have had top surgery and will have recovered 😁
Alex P. As far as I’m aware he is still doing surgery ( I hope so anyway!) I think his website is transsurgery.co.uk he has a bunch of his results on there and everything :)
That sounds frustrating for sure. I get not wanting / not feeling comfortable to go a surgeon whose work you're not familiar with. I don't think you should ever feel like you have to *settle* when it comes to choosing a surgeon. That said, I know waiting times absolutely suck and the fact that you'll have to see him privately complicates things. I'm in the US, but when I had top surgery, my insurance didn't cover any top surgeons except for maybe one or two who don't actually specialize in chest surgery (and therefore had only done a handful of top surgeries) and I had never seen their results. I ended up waiting longer so that I could save enough money to go to a surgeon whose results I loved and who I felt had a lot of experience. This complicated things for sure, but I don't regret holding off until I found someone who I felt comfortable with and could trust would give me the results I desired. Also...major congrats on finishing college!
How much is a consultation with andrew yelland? I know some surgeons offer free consultations. Id also like to know the price of the surgery itself as ive struggled to find that online. Ive heard around £7000 but they werent a primary source like yourself;)
