You might be a backyard garage mechanic by your own claim but there's something you should know. It's awesome watching you so often take the time to get things done well. The trial and error you have to push through just helps regular Joe's like me to remember that mistakes will be made but they don't have to be final result. Thanks for filming so much of what you do. It's informative, inspiring, and fun to watch. Thanks Taylor 👍
Thanks to taylors videos and other automotive youtubers. If it wasnt for content creators like you. I wouldnt of been inspired to leave my landscaping job which was one of my passions for another passion automotive and If it wasnt for your in detail and descriptive videos. I wouldnt have most of my automotive knowledge which is helping me excel in a new job.
I've really enjoyed this build i'm dreaming of having a streetable LS car of my own someday and watching this makes it seem super attainable. Overall entertaining and informational as always.
It’s not even that expensive. You could easily run a stock bottom end at this power or more. Turbos $500. Huron speed makes a full kit for $2500. Decapped injectors. DW pump. And you’re off to the races. Watch Matt Happel’s “don’t bs me” series. It’s a little dated so would probably recommend doing a Holley now vs stock ecu but still. Super budget.
We bought a wrecked Escalade from the auction and used everything drivetrain related. We sold everything else and the swap was basically free. It'll cost a bit to turbo it but if you can get a donor for the swap it'll make it easier/cheaper. Of course the s10 thinks it's an Escalade now but it works.
Not many youtubers who take on the projects you do, at the level of quality that you build them...and THEN the quality to take us along step by step. You're a gem, and we love the content. With the new garage, you're just getting started!
I'm A Licensed automotive technician that works for GM dealership for the past 13 years. When ever I under go a large job on the (engine) powertrain, I always use straight water in the cooling system first check for leaks. Cannot tell you how many times I avoid a big coolant mess. Very good, Nice job on the build. Tuning it going to be fun, all best to you.
sleeper exhaust would be sick, keep the side pipes for the on boost dump pipe and put a boost controled dump so you can run an full exhaust with muffler tucked up where you cant see it
Good job on that white board list. It's always a good habit,, as we age and have more and more stuff on our minds our memories tend to get stretched nd items we need to remember are easily overlooked. A list on a white board is ALWAYS GOOD.
Taylor please when you get everything sorted and good to drive pull it all back out strip it and paint it black with some flakes or something! Also I think you should get a nice bench seat! Would clean it up. Or just bucket seats.
Hey Taylor, just finished watching the episode and I really hope you see this comment because here is your reminder to refill your argon bottle! 😂😂 keep it up dude and can’t wait for the next shop video!
Props to having a filmer! May be a weird transition but having someone film you part of the time is a great addition. He will get better at filming super quick as well. Film stuff you wouldn’t normally film just to see how he films and work together to dial it in perfect 💯👊🏼
I have the exact same truck but gold with black trail blazer SS wheels and I’m finishing up my turbo build basically the same time this is definitely my favorite content like this shit gets me excited to watch lmao we are basically running the exact same setup except the transmission.
How long before T-Ray is sat on his drive head in hands and tears, as Jose and his girl walk into the sunset 🤣 Its obnoxiously loud for a "street" truck.
If you haven't figured out fans yet it looks like you have room for the oem 2005-2007 dual e fan setup. You can pick up the factory style connectors pretty easy and wire your own relay setup to the terminator so you don't need the whole harness. Since your thinking daily and maybe drag and drive having fans that you can pick up at any parts store or junkyard or same day from Amazon comes in clutch.
Invest in a Vacuum coolant refiller. If it doesn’t hold vacuum there’s a leak somewhere. Can pressure test and spray with soapy water to find air escaping on an empty system as well. Saves me time at work often with this kind of stuff.
I can't wait to see this baby make some booooosssttt. We did some roll racing today on the free with a couple turbo k series cars and my 300+ whp Mazdaspeed on 22 pounds lol love it
That's so funny. Just rebuilt my Suburban 6.0 and I did nearly the same thing. I swapped right and left heads when reassembling and had to pull that plug and install on the "right" head. Doubly funny - after installing the engine, I pulled it out again (another story), pulled the heads, and then inadvertantly swapped them again - so I had to swap that plug a second time.

I check for updates a few times a day and whenever you have an update show up, it is a good day. Happy to see this one up and running, sort of, keep it up broseph, we are all on pins and needles here!
Once u get the truck and vette dialed rip the miata apart and rebuild it from the ground up. Make it your mona lisa cause u cannot sell it and its gonna be weird if u give it away . Change to all the nuts and bolts, make it lighter and fix all the little niggling stuff and make it super super clean and back on the them 3 piece wheels
Just some good info to have is, try to stay away from aftermarket fans. Buy e fans out of a 05-11 Silverado Tahoe Yukon etc and they will bolt right into the core support. Buy the connectors and wire factory fans in yourself. They cool great and at the right play they cost around 60-80 bucks. Just wanted to be helpful but I’m sure your gonna go with mishi fans or something. Mishi also makes a radiator and e fans for 99-06 trucks as well so. Yeah love the video man keep on keepin on
It sounds soo nice Taylor one of my favourite channels for versatility of vehicles and the steps involved in adding turbos. love to see you do a aussie barra conversion one day
literally some of my fav content, always keep it humble and straight up. Have loved the LS street truck build when it was just the idea. Kudos bud, be safe. Salute
Yess sirrrrr! My truck build is a similar engine set up for a Chevy Colorado. Most certainly will be revisiting this build series for ideas when I am able to get started on it
Man you are giving me major motivation to finish my turbo Silverado. It's been on stands since October and work on it every chance I can. I have the cold side done and I'm working on the downpipe and exhaust, and I can't wait to drive again! Also I don't know how you get anything done while trying to film everything, I constantly do things and forget to film lol
Hey brother it might be the video sound quality, but she kinda sounds like shes misfiring when you were driving her up the street. Loved watching the build (as always) and i cant wait to see it when its 100% done.
This thing is badass. I hope it gets crazier from here. Like complete fiberglass bed and front end and doors. Ahahs. Gota do ,4link an coil overs tube the front end lol straight race truck. Give it a year
Its running congratulations... its still comfy for now... if you are going to do some back end racing you should probably have a cage... if it was mine I'd take it to a dent guy and have as many of the dents as he can get out pushed out.. then I think I'd get some proper leaf springs from drag racing and get it setup so it'll hook and book. Then I would try and find a set of GM factory 5 spoke wheels and get a drag race setup wheels and tires I mean.
in regards to the white board, the 86 has like three things on the go, the vette has two columns, hell yes. looking forward to both, smol boi and vette men.

Favorite build. I own a 2012 crew cab silverado. That is desperate for some kind of forced induction. I'm leaning towards a bolt on Magnuson. I'm just looking for 500hp and run smooth. Side note. Amazon delivers argon gas. Up to 125cu/ft. Your welcome
You should make some fixtures for your welding table with V bands on them so you can clamp your pipes to the table easier. Also, every time I watch your videos, I get the urge to go out and check the bottle on my welder. lol... Truck is looking great. Fun stuff.
I had the same problem on my 99 ford ranger with it not wanting to idle, which still isn’t perfect but at least now it idols without throttle input so don’t feel bad about just thinking you’re masking the problem with turning up the throttle blade
3 points I'm curious about. 1) would a smaller pipe from the intercooler result in less lag because it would be less volume to pressurize? 2) does anyone ever bump up the psi a tad as an alternative to using an intercooler? 3) is a blowoff valve needed if you program the ignition system to incorporate antilag ? Please forgive my ignorance
I've always been a fan of the LS series engines . But my 220 horsepower Ranger , is more than enough for anything I ever needed to do . And it's actually faster than my Gen 4 Camaro is .
Great build man, I found a company online that makes a bezel for the 1500's to fit the Holley 7in display think im going to go that route. Ill just go with the Term Max and ditch the OEM 411 ecu.
I wanna do a similar, but very different build (2nd gen ram) same kinda stance but i want a camper shell. I think it’d look so cool on Taylor’s truck too lol

He could easily adapt a 4” prebent diesel tailpipe to it.
I vote for a cutout
I don’t know about mufflers and all that but I’d at least run it all the way out the back. Keeps it way quieter in the cab and it doesn’t drone so bad
