Blender 3.5.1 has a three point light system built in. just enable the add on, then add it. it automatically points at your subject and tracks it if you move the object. Nice 3 part tut on sculpting/painting/rendering!
Great mini series, I really learned a lot. And I tried my hand at sculpting for the first time; I gotta say, my drawing skills really tranferred over to sculpting better than I thought it would, but with the help of a great teacher made all the difference! Thank you for this, I'll definitly be purchasing your courses, I enjoy the way you teach Grant. Thanks again. 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loving this series and the results are amazing, especially for my first time doing any sculpting. I purchased your absolute beginners course and hopped over to this midway for a bit of fun (and will go back and complete that now) but I'm thrilled there's so much to learn. Thanks for the amazing courses and tutorials, you'll be keeping me very busy for the next while :)
THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!! I've tried many other videos and courses and i just couldn't get myself past even the blocking in stage of sculpting. But with your relaxing voice and simplified lingo, I was finally able to follow through till the end, resulting in my first ever finished digital sculpt!!! We need more no-nonsense straight-to-the-point tutors like you in this platform!!!
for my first sclupting try my chracter looked little cringe and weird 😅, however i loved your explaining and i know now many usful points to make my first step to do more sclupting , i cant thank you enough sir many vids couldnt make it to understand what they doing but with your series it was very smooth and efficient
Great video - as always. Can you please make a tutorial about color spaces and color profiles? It is quite challenging to render the right colors and white balance.
Great video Grant - really helpful. Thank you! If we do want to scale down our head to real world scale for game engine purposes, in what mode would we do that in to be correct? Is it in Edit mode?
How to use subsurface scattering in 4.1 version I want to achieve that nice translucent affect where the light passes through. Like on your final render on the characters ears
Hey grant! Ive just bought your 3 courses and have a question before i start. I downloaded blender 4.0 the newest version . Do i have to download same version as in video??
You should be ok. I'm gonna do a video soon on any changes that affect the courses in Blender 4, and I'll be revamping the character course fairly soon
The video an amazing, but while working the light sources stopped to work with me after doing shift d and move them. Do you know how to make them work again? Because the lights and shadows not move over the character when I move them around him.
@@grabbitt the paint doesnt work for me in cycles i think its the same problem he is having. there is light and the materials work its just the painted colors not working
You should make an animation tutorial using this head model to make a sort of skibidi toilet animation. That would be a hit on UA-cam! You could even do a sort of hashtag challenge, for people to follow the tutorial along and at the end post their own skibidi toilet animation with #skabbitt_toilet

Ive just watched these 3 tutorials and decided to buy the course after my work!! Love your videos😊😊
Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for making this wonderful video
planning on buying the course today :O
Cool🙂
I guess this 10:08 is one area where the new Light Linking options would come into play? Thanks for the great videos!
Amazing
Bruh Ur insane thanks alot. Fr respect!!!!!
thanx for the videos.
i hope u make videos for the whole body and the hair
In 4.0 the subsurface layout seems completely different. Dunno how to use it
If I remember it's just putting up the weight slider
No, it's the Anisotrophy.
Want to achieve that nice translucent affect on the ears just like real skin.
Stuck there 😅 I'm used to environment modeling
Great video Grant - really helpful. Thank you! If we do want to scale down our head to real world scale for game engine purposes, in what mode would we do that in to be correct? Is it in Edit mode?
you can do that or just scale it down and press ctrl a and apply that scale
Thank you!
How to use subsurface scattering in 4.1 version
I want to achieve that nice translucent affect where the light passes through. Like on your final render on the characters ears
If you have the lights in good places you should be able to just tinker with the sub surf a little to get a result

Did you paint on that subtle edge/cavity highlight manually or do you add it procedurally? Looks great!
It's purely lighting if I remember
First view..from east Africa
Thank you for your work. Can you tell me why I have glare on my eyes in the form of a square? Thanks again!
Reflection?
@@grabbitt Yes, for some reason it is in the shape of a square ...
How do you export this to unreal engine 5? Also the light is baked when you export it?
-Great Job on the tutorial series tho
No you have to bake it yourself
how i can bake it myself? Inside blender?@@grabbitt
@@I-MM-O-R-T-A-L see my baking playlist

thanks, i just made a chad goblin 👍

Are you in rendered mode
my sculpt turned black when i changed to cycles, is there any way to fix this?
Is it a lighting issue
@@grabbitt the paint doesnt work for me in cycles i think its the same problem he is having. there is light and the materials work its just the painted colors not working
i fixed it, you have to rename the color attribute and then reselect it in the node👍
@@skeleporter Why did renaming the color attribute fix the issue?
@@CanyonCook-ee8ym not sure just saw the fix online its a bug
So I take it this can be done to a character full body and be exported for rigging, animation, etc?
Yes to put it very simply
Mine look like MégaMind . But im happy of my result

Interesting
wait, what!?... I don’t have F12 on my Macbook.
How do I export the rendered image?
Go to the render menu at the top
Do anyone know why face turns black when I change render engine to cycles? eevee turns out normal.
Is your texture hooked up correctly
@@grabbittgetting the same problem I’ve tried tweaking with the settings of cycles
Nothing worked but I didn’t really know what to try
