Hi, David from Lawrence, NSW Australia here. I quite enjoy your videos, and as an established top A grade player I think you are explaining the basics very well, very well thought out videos. If I was learning I would come to this channel for the best advice on how to improve I've yet seen. As a fellow long time player, I agree with a great deal of your lessons, and many of the practice routines you show are ones I do myself very often. Mr Hendry is who I modelled myself on personally, and it served me very well (we are the same age). Ronnie took it to another level, but I am 6 years older than Ronnie and it was Stephen's approach that I copied as best I could. I concentrated on being very good at awkward shots, such as long pots of all types, cuing from on the cushion, over balls and using all of the equipment. As I was playing defensive players I often found myself in these positions, and being able to pot your way out or play a strong safety from these positions gave me an edge. That, and Stephens mental approach are what I took from him, and it made me very difficult to beat, I was never out of a game until the last ball went in. Kudo's, and keep making this great content. Cheers. Subscribed.
Both playing to build up 147 and comentatoring job are impossible mission to most experienced players! But only you ve proved it once in your private rehearsal room! Despite losing last black, this is pretty impressive footage. Well done you make this labour intensive work more easily!
Thank you for not mentioning the 147 in the title. It really increased the suspense when you were down to the last few reds on wards. Even though you missed the final black, I still really enjoyed the attempt.
Bloody brilliant play. Now started playing on full size table at my neighbours , play pool normally, but snooker is a totally different animal . Jon L.Cornwall UK
That was a lot more helpful but i think it comes down to when i second guess the shot it goes wrong (well at least most times)and sometimes im way off when working out an angle over a large distance... Hello form Newcasle NSW Australia
Aiming is a tricky subject, most players I know aim in different ways, and some can't even tell me how they do it, but play to a very high level. Nice that you put the spot there in the graphics it helps explain your visualization much better. I'll give your method a go, as I still miss quite a lot and I rekon it's mostly aiming that's doing it. Phil - Aarhus Denmark.
Great video I really like the addition of the aiming cam. I was wondering if you could use a thinner line on the object ball to more clearly see where to aim :)
That's the best video clip I've seen, I like the way tou show dots on the balls thank you, please make some more video like that, it shows aiming and positional play, also could you make a video about the path of the cue ball after hitting the object ball. I learnt so much from your tutorial videos and I always practice them. Thank you so much for your efforts
I've been playing for 40 years and still struggle to get more than 5-6 balls regularly. Highest break is 38! Just cannot get consistency. Play once a week with me brother and he has same problem, it's such a hard game and you make it look easy!
POV videos are always great but after the last video I'd suggest to put the camera on the same line as the center of your sight if possible cuz rn it feels like you're putting your cue to the left of the center of sight
Please Show the aiming button in every of your video It will help us to learn where to hit exactly a cue ball THANK YOU 💎❤️ Watching You from Rawalpindi Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
Great stuff, I am wondering if it would be better to not have that green spot on the object ball. some maybe are confused, when you are also showing the green spot on the cue ball. It's enough with the cross showing where the middle is.
@@mattmanslim just focus on three thing on every shot. 1. Imagine there's a ghost ball in front of the ball you want to pot, and that it is in line with the pocket. This is the hardest step as it requires you to visualise, but you should be fine once you've potted a few balls. This is your aim. 2. Deliver the cue in a straight line and follow through. 3. Hit the cue ball where you intend to hit it. I find that staring at the cueball when down on a shot is very helpful.
@@Aloksbil I can visualize a ghost ball if I'm looking down on it, but when I got down I'm not sure where the ghost ball (or the go-through-aiming-point that OP is using) is anymore. How could I solve this visualization issues?
@@yuanheli307 i'm not a snooker coach, I just like the game, so I wouldn't take my advice super seriously, but I visualise the ghost ball and focus on it as I walk to the cueball and keep staring at it. You can really prepare mentally for the shot like that.
Can you tell me the technique of looking at the center of the hole of each square? that the center of this square hole should aim at which point of the hole from Thailand
I believe he answered why he don't play professionally in a video. I think he may said his long game is not good enough for professionals (long time ago, not sure).
Unfortunately i think the real reason is you cant wear hats, hopefully 1 day he can earn enough on youtube for a hair transplant then we may see him in events like qschool and the 900?
So the tip contact islike step two after youve pictured where the ghost ball is so to improve accuracy further...is that right? This interests me as I always use the ghost ball but I miss a lot?
You have the same stroke and cue action as mine. Going a bit across the ball putting unwanted side left. Drives my crazy, i can make 100+ but under pressure i twitch on all shots and sometimes even can't make a 9 break
I'm only a beginner player, so am having difficulty anticipating where the cue ball will go after hitting the object ball. Is there a way to determine it in the meantime until I figure it out through experience?

Ah man, what a shame on thy last black. Fantastic video either way, well done
I see where you're aiming, but I don't understand how you're aiming or how you're deciding where to aim other than instinct and experience obviously
beautiful... but y would you play pink on the cushion to get to the black ?!
Very intertaining
Great effort!

hello from Pinlaung,Myanmar.
I always play best when I think I am the most still, this confirms that. Let's practice being still!!!
I’m playing snooker with my dad in a couple hours, this is so useful!
Good luck. I’m still terrible no matter how many times I play. Even more difficult with Anthony Hamilton laughing at me.

The camera line was slightly off centre to the right. Would've been so much better it it was plumb centre.
