Nr 1 - Great advice - In my case this was the biggest issue, jumping in too soon before doing the work and learning how to do close straight shots with a consistent technique.
I wish I could have this in my ears next Saturday as I'm playing my first semi finals in the Scotland Women's Tour. I'm new to snooker and finding your videos so informative and helpful.
Glad I found this. I've recently been rattling the pockets A LOT in my games and it's got in my head a bit. I figured it was a cueing action rather than looking more at the sighting. Will definitely spend some time next visit to the table in checking this out
Great info in this video Im having a Rocky Balboa moment can't wait to get to the snooker hall tonight and put these simple adjustments in to practice thank you from Bradford 👍
Always remember that a controlled backswing means that the delivery will also be under control. Might sound a bit silly but it's true. Next time you play, focus on a slow(ish) controlled backswing with a nice pause at the back and you'll see that your delivery will also be better.
The reflection steel ball is a great idea. I am a mediocre player but I always tell my brother that he misses straight shots as he hits too hard, normally to try and get postion on next ball. I always tell him he is better to safely pot and then decide if safety etc...Great video as always 👍👍
Watching from close by, north of the border, Glasgow, Scotland, got a fold up snooker table a month ago and have suddenly become obsessed with the sport. Your videos are great for little tips on maximising shots, can't seem to get enough of them, i'm far off from even being an armature at the sport, but enjoying the practice I have after learning some useful tips from your videos :)
Greetings from Tehran, I played my first snooker game yesterday and it turned out I'm really good at this game for a beginner ( I scored 84 , I know it's not much but not bad for first time),and I'm really invested in this game , unfortunately it's really expensive to play this game here in Iran so I'm gonna do my best at every time I could get to play , this was really helpful, thanks a lot
I just bought a new 12ft pool table, and i was unsure which youtube tutorial should i follow, and now i am stabilizing my decision by following your techniques your way of explaining is so good even for people who don't speak english, thanks from Tunisia
Love the channel. Explains the mechanics of what’s going on. I’m over 6’6” tall and have always struggled getting down low enough and far enough away from the cue so as not to cramp my action. Any tips on how I can help my positioning and posture. Many thanks Big Ron, Letchworth, UK
It’s a skill to put into words and demonstrate what the greats often do instinctively. Impressive my friend. Love the don’t just watch, play message. I play with the missus each night while we watch the news. Appreciate the worthy content - Ta.
Great video. Love the encouragement to choose to think positively about the cue action you’ve got and look in other places for ways to improve (while also completing shots consistently, staying still and controlling backswing..😂). Tip 1 is intriguing... not seen it anywhere before - looking forward to testing myself on it. Tip 8 is my favourite though. Amazing what % of people, me included, play snooker all their lives without this so crucial penny ever dropping! Like the related practice drill with a second white placed two shots ahead - would work well using a cue ball sized white paper disc (moved around with cue tip Nic Barrow stylee...🙂). Finally, I will also benefit massively from finally understanding why I should always get up and start again rather than engage in second guessing and believing that some sort of adjustment is needed to make a shot work... Thank you very much.
p.s. the other 3 tips I remember now and like most of the top ten are “always put your cue on the line of aim - helped by having your foot somewhere near it too”, “practice round the black spot” and “practice safety with just cue ball and the black”.
p.p.s. Which just leaves the tip about breaking off and one other for me to go back and check up on..!! 😂 (oh, just remembered, it was about identifying shots to nothing and % play in matches - which is something I’m already OK at...)
Very Informative video as always. Thanks for making these videos. One day i hope to have my own snooker table so i can play when i want. I hope you have an amazing day. :)
@@harveyandrews6731 Dunoon (not the Australian one) in Scotland mate👍🏴🇦🇺 (I hope I got the right flag for you there mate? It's hard to tell on my phone with the flag being so wee and similar to others.) Ps, yeah, I know Dunoon sounds stupid too, I think your town beats mine though 🤣🤣
@@randommadness1021 yeah the woll is pronounced as wool and the ongs are pronounced just like ings but just with an o instead it's really complicated and yes you got the flag right 👏👏
New Sub, played off and on for a long time but never really practiced anything, hope I will be able to get table time in the future to follow your advice, easy to understand video, thanks
The tip about working the CUE BALL positioning forward two shots is not one I've heard. I normally just work to get about the right angle on the correct side to generate the same on the next shot and the one after (3 ahead), but not to specific 2nd or 3rd ahead cue positioning. Interesting, will keep that in mind. Tightening control on future play is probably never a bad thing. Good tip, I hope. :-)

All of these are super important for beginners and amateurs. And I agree about the 1st one being most important. Cheers from the states
your advice makes so much sense than conventional coaching
