@@danielamaris6367Abba are the greatest pop group of all time. They were a stadium band, before big stadiums existed everywhere. They had to lottery, 2x shows in the UK, as 3.5 million people applied. They are the 2nd highest selling group behind The Beatles & were around lesser time. Their music is timeless & as popular as ever. What makes them even more extraordinary, is that they are the only Non-Anglo Saxon Group, to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, & English is not their native language. Simply the best.

you are absolutely CORRECT, Sir! We will NEVER see the likes of them again. Ann & Nancy Wilson of HEART, during an interview in 1999, were asked "do you ever compare yourselves to, say, ABBA?" Nancy Wilson's answer was classic: she said "NOBODY can compare themselves to ABBA, not even the Beatles. They are in a league all their own, the best voices, the best songwriters, the best lyricists of ALL time.......all time. So NO, we don't, we cannot, compare ourselves to ABBA. Look, we are very happy with our career, our band, we've been blessed, we've traveled all over the world. But to compare any band, any musician, any vocalists to the 2 in ABBA..............it cannot be done..........and SHOULD not be done. We can't hold a candle to ABBA. Does that mean we are not proud? Of course not. We are extremely proud of our body of work. But we know we are not on their level. Nobody ever will be. We are not peers of ABBA. ABBA has no peers."

Well I'm pretty sure this just a lip-sync or the person editing the video just put the studio version over it as a lot of people do with ABBA videos (as you can see they don't even have microphones). But either way even if it is just the studio version, yes, the vocals are awesome by everyone, and at the end I think they're just yodeling "yodel sounds", not in any particular language, although there are some versions of their songs that they did Swedish versions of. :)

Stig Anderson was right when he said that this could’ve become a huge international hit with the right commercial backing behind it. I think it’s a wonderful song. As for this clip, west can you say? Joyous on every level.
An interesting aspect to this was that there was no grand-plan at this point. They weren’t even called ABBA. But at some point later they realised that what they had here was solid dynamite.

I picked it up off the shelf and went over to my grandmother to ask her to buy it for me (mind you I’m 13 years old at the time) she did and that the first thing I do when I got in the car is tear off the protective plastic and open the case and pop in the first CD and well low and behold I discover what was ABBA’s very first single and I have loved this song and any ABBA song since. I even love Agnetha’s solo work and the few things Frida released post 1982 ABBA.

How rare it is to see the girls in more of a backing role for the boys! Let's also talk about that WILD yodeling!

I'd call it a very controlled yodeling rather than wild.

Through surround sound, the yodelling is coming out of the back speakers - very clever production in 1972 (although Quad sound did exist!) Anyway, they had the powerful punch in their production from day one whilst not trying to sound like Zeppelin :D

How great were Abba , or B and B, to fight through the language barrier, imagine the journey from "People Need Love" until"The Winner Takes it All". P.s love the yodelling at the end.

I rate the 1980s more highly (but I was born in 1964!)... let's say Abba contributed greatly to rescuing the 1970s music scene!
There were amazing bands around, but in average....... 👎.
