This reminds me of my mother - she was always singing it or humming it as she didn't know Italian!!!! I can still see her now, doing the washing - and singing at the height of her voice - over 50 years ago and it's still fresh in my mind!!! Those were the sunny days in Malta!!!
I have finally this February 2014 seen Lago Maggiore and cruised on it to the Borromean Islands and Stresa and Arona - lovely places - I nearly started singing the tune!!!! I waited a long time to tick off this place off my wish list!!!!
This is lovely - I can remember this on the RAI TV in Malta - we always watched Eurovision and I was only 10 when I heard this!!! Have been looking for it for ages on UA-cam - somebody should have put it under GIORGIO - that's what I was looking for !!!! I always remember my mother singing this - every woman used to sing this song whilst doing their chores!!!!
An amazing singer who sounds better at over 80 years old than most young popular singers today. I would rate her the 2nd best singer of 1958 Eurovision, with Alice Babs the best. This song is my favorite of 1958. Lys Assia was a very polished, relaxed singer with a very good visual presentation, and is one of my favorite singers of Eurovision.

Thank you setheurovision94 for your kind comments - it was also nice listening to the Malta jury giving their votes on the Eurovision!!!! It still impacts on me today, we nearly won it some years ago - then Macedonia or one of the eastern blocs nations voting for each other cheated us of the last vote!!!!! So sad, we could have put Malta on the international map of music, and given a very good spectacle,as in my younger days we used to have the British, Italian and American hit parades,

this was brilliant and so camp
Wow, that's a fascinating fact to hear. It's always nice to hear that songs impact one's daily life as well as our listening subconscia.
I like it, apart from the fact that the lady sings "Chiorchio" instead of Giorgio. LOL

ESC in black and white just doesn't make sense to me. I'm used to seeing it all dark and lit up and cool. This is weird.
Una delle canzoni più cretine nella storia della musica leggera.
