Hi Nikki, I always enjoy your videos so much and they always inspire me. In todays video you mentioned that everyone is different in their age, their seasons of life, and energy. The tears started to roll down my face. So very true about your comment. I am 65 and my husband and I are retired and I am in a wheelchair. In 2018 - 2019 I dealt with knee replacement, breast cancer, back surgery, and then a DVT. I have been in a wheelchair since 2018 and I look at my home and it is over whelming. I am depressed as to the state of my my home. Especially since I can't walk yet after my surgeries and the non organization of my home brings on anxiety and depression. Your video's help me with that and gives me inspiration to not let it all get me down, but strive for my home to become my respite place again. We all need that wonderful feeling about our homes where we feel in control and not the house in control of us. Thank you again Nikki for your sincere, and inspiring videos.
You have gone through so much. It was really inspiring to read your comment. While my heart goes out to you, the fact that you still find inspiration through your struggles and especially when things aren't ideal. You wish to move forward and press on. I admire that 🌹
I clean quickly our two bathrooms each morning, I make the beds, tidy and then...have a good coffee with a book. It is my reward. And then I take care of the living room and of the kitchen when preparing lunch. After lunch, I clean kitchen sink and floor and my house maintenance is done for the day 🎉
12:15 i backed up to this section the part where u 🤗SHOW us your REAL home messes....this is VERY nice to see because i am a VISUAL learner and now i have a much better idea of what TIDY means ...putting "things back in their homes" and wipe down all counter tops! Thank u for your transparency
Thank you for mentioning your husband staying up playing video games! Glad I'm not the only one 😅 lol. I have a fun video suggestion! A lady's car orginzation/ preparing your vehicle for summer (things to have on hand or keep in the car! It is coming up soon so it is something I'm working on . I'm inspired by the seasonal changes !
Thank you for this video, it was so nice to see what the everyday view of your home looks like. With so much comparison and things like social media it can be so disheartening when our homes are not meeting the perfect standards set. I have adapted the lady of the house method for a while now and I can say that it really does work and makes all the difference having the “leave a space better than you found it” mentality. One thing you pointed to today that I love is the fact that your house doesn’t have to be perfect before you go to bed- it’s ok to wake up and tidy if that’s what works best for you- I know I used to get so mad at my kids for wanting a snack after I cleaned the kitchen because it “had to be cleaned before bed”. All that did was make me the mom who wouldn’t let her kids have a snack- and guess what between the hours of 8pm and 7am no one saw it because we were all sleeping 😂. Once I took on that mentality it really helped me relax a little and you know what, my house is still clean! 🤭 thank you for all your inspiration! 💕🌷
I love the home walk through to see what you tidy every day. It's encouraging. It is definitely the little messes that pile up for me, because i struggle to do a tidy everyday. I also struggle to have a home for everything. But I'm working on it :)
I'm glad you enjoyed that and found it encouraging. That's great that you are working on those things, it will make all the difference and then it won't be such a struggle 🌹
😂 I don't know how these things happen, either! Thanks for showing us the reality...it's nice to know it's not just my house where dirty dishes magically appear during the night!
Thank you for sharing, Nikki. I sincerely appreciate your transparency. It also helps to know that a tidy home can be achieved with focused effort, even with kids, spouses, and pets!
16:15 i agree i empty trash each am as part of the tidy the home...empty trash cans make me FEEL good...and empty trash cans n doing laundry ....ahhhh those two things keep bugs away!
Hi Nikki, I have to say that even a household of 2 can get pretty chaotic. It is imperative to do what you are suggesting to keep sane. It truly gets better the more you stick with. Thank you for your continued inspiration. I send love 🌺
i sure enjoy these chats and the "lifebook cleaning routine calendar journal" i find i pick it up Daily!!! many day i am using is SEVERAL times a day...my fav part is definally the cleaning routine and I SEE RESULTS...i do enjoy the calendars and the daily page R PERFECT for me😊
Thanks for sharing your routines - I'm continually learning new and better ways of keeping my family's home, the skillset needed is so huge! My daughter left those sorts of trails of mess and clutter all through adolescence, but as an adult she and her partner keep their home clean and tidy. Your kids are soaking up what you're teaching them and the routines that give your home life structure, however many times you find dishes in the sink in the morning, after you left the kitchen clean at your bedtime.
I know how you feel about the Thursday morning mess!! I have four children, ages 9 - 17 and they ALWAYS need more to eat when we get home from Bible study on a Wednesday night. It’s usually 8:45 - 9:00 by the time we get home, and I’m completely wiped out by that point. I tell them to stack their dishes in the sink when they finish and put away any food they get out, and I go get ready for bed. It’s easier to just deal with the leftover mess in the morning! I much prefer to wake up to a clean kitchen, so I’m glad this scenario usually only happens once per week. 😄
It's refreshing to see a content creator show a realistic view of what homes look like with people living their day to day lives in these homes. I agree that the daily tidy up is essential. Your little puppies are just so adorable. I love it when they make an appearance! Is the little brown one a toy poodle? The colouring is stunning. I have a silver toy poodle and have always dreamed of having a brown one some day.
I thought that would be best to share. The truth is, by the time I've gotten around to filming most days, I've already done my daily tidy. It's hard to begin working with a mess or clutter around. My mind can't function properly. Of course I don't mop a mopped floor or wash clean clothes or wipe clean counters but much of the dirt and grime is washed out by lighting and never seeing a true before with the clutter around can be deceiving. Lady is a mini poodle. She is an apricot color, at least that's what I've read about her coloring 🌹
My mother did washing on Mondays ironing on Tuesdays, she also had the same menu most of the week. She clean the house every day made the beds. Did the bathrooms and vacuumed. I lived in immaculate house when I grew up as a kid I am the exact same way. I’m very picky about my house. She used to tell me everything has a place if you put it back in its place when you go to look for it next it will be there…,,😂❤I am 68 .,,
Hello Nikki thank you for sharing one routine item is first thing in the morning is making the bed. I tidy up the room and get coffee. I dont mind keeping up with making my Apartment beautiful.
After cleaning up the kitchen at night, I was wondering what others do when someone (me in this case) wants a late night snack or little meal. I usually rinse the dishes off and leave them til morning. Setting a curfew like, "Kitchen is closed after 7pm" doesn't always work. I also have a workaround situation with the shower and tub. The tub downstairs has only the hot water faucet working. To take a bath, which I have tried, takes a bit of work. So I shower upstairs. My son takes care of his situation. That leaves me with 2 bathrooms to clean.
“The kitchen is closed” is a nice thought, but not practical for growing children, movie nights and a variety of other scenarios I’ve come to find out. Rinsing your dishes is perfect. There are always those ideals but rarely is it real world. Doing our best in each moment goes a long way🌹
Hi Nikki l do remember those days where things would be left around, with 3 children it seemed never ending. I even find now with just 2 of us l seemed to be still picking things up. I love your videos because it keeps me going so inspiring. Your home is lovely Nikki and your doggies are gorgeous. ❤❤
Hello Nikki, We have routines and responsibilities for everyone in our home; with 6 children 13-27, it’s just a very busy household with lots of different job schedules, out of town events, and meal times. I like having the kitchen tidied after each meal but know someone might come in right afterwards and make their meal. Our children make their own breakfast, lunch and snacks; each child makes a dinner once a week. Sunday meals are a team effort. I definitely wipe down the toilet with some tp before my shower; a wipe the counter down with the hand towel that is headed to the laundry; each child does their own laundry and one extra load: cloth napkins, kitchen cloths, bath towels, rags, shower curtains, blankets, etc. Teaching children these responsibilities is simple life skills preparation. Our home isn’t always tidied but it’s been picked up 2-3 times each day.

Hi, Nikki-you’re home is beautiful just like you. I love your heart and channel so much and the ladies that follow you. You certainly are a lady with so much composure for waking up to disarray after you tidy it before going to bed. I struggle with paper and junk drawers and just in case items. My home is all white with some beautiful antiques and gorgeous antique French chandeliers. My decor is antique with white French Madonnas, antique candlesticks with white beeswax candles and French mirrors and bowls.Yes, most everything is French; except, me. Haha I’m Italian. I feel it is pretty, minimal, and elegant. . But back to my issue: I stuff all those things in closets, drawers, basement, and spare room. It looks like a tornado blew through. Thank you so much for this new video which inspire me. But I have a question. All the mess you show is made by other people. Do you say to us that they can also tidy behind them? I'm a fullworking mum and when I go back at home I don't want to see a messy home. Do you have some friction with kids and spouse for that?
It’s always unfortunate when able bodied individuals don’t pick up after themselves. The majority of people don’t do this simple task, just look at society as a whole. It’s a priority for the lady of the house to teach this skill to her household but know that it will often be met with resistance. Praise the considerate behavior when you notice it and share just how much you appreciate it because coming home to a clean and tidy home after working a full day brings you peace and happiness. Some pick up these thoughtful skills early on while others really struggle with selfishness. Constant reminders in which case will likely be the norm. Some will say, “it shouldn’t be that way!” but I’ve yet to see even those have a perfectly run home with all members of the home pulling their own weight 100% of the time because the only one we can control, is ourself🌹
With kids, you never know how things happen 😂 Mine are 4 and 7- I'm in the thick of it with stuff ending up in every nook and cranny. It's the never-ending catch up game! I'm looking foward to watching the rest of the series ❤ After years of being a working Mom, I was finally able to quit my job when we recently moved to the other side of the US. I love this tablecloth..what should I type in to search for it in Amazon? Also, your planner is great with pictures...how do you create these pictures? Love it
I've been going through a big declutter and tidy of my home. I made the effort last night and put all the laundry on my bed away. It was a big pile. It was so satisfying waking up to a tidy room for the first time in a long time. I still have some things to finish off but most of my house is tidy.

I'm so happy you are loving these videos 🌹
I am visual. I can stand a little dust for a couple of days but I want all the rooms tidy.
Agreed!
❤❤❤
I love this tablecloth..what should I type in to search for it in Amazon? Also, your planner is great with pictures...how do you create these pictures? Love it
"Lace Tablecloth" - there are several designs to choose from so it can be hard to decide. I use Canva. They have so many designs 🌹
I've been going through a big declutter and tidy of my home. I made the effort last night and put all the laundry on my bed away. It was a big pile. It was so satisfying waking up to a tidy room for the first time in a long time. I still have some things to finish off but most of my house is tidy.
That's wonderful! I'll be highlighting your comment in an upcoming video 🌹
Nikki, you look especially lovely in this video. Feminine and attractive. Enjoy and appreciate your material. Thank you.
Thank you kindly 🌹
Where do your kids air dry their laundry?
My oldest daughter uses my clothes rack for her dresses. Everyone else uses the dryer next to the washing machine 🌹
16:15 i agree i empty trash each am as part of the tidy the home...empty trash cans make me FEEL good...and empty trash cans n doing laundry ....ahhhh those two things keep bugs away!
