I have never liked my pictures on the wall! Now I have a picture desk after watching this I took all my pictures to my desk and decorated it! Thank you.
I love this video! I love this topic! I live in the upper Midwest, and fresh flowers from the garden are months away yet, but the feminine, minimal touch is something I find so comfortable. I would love to see another video dedicated to feminine simplicity.
Maintaining a clutter-free bedroom with ample light contributes positively to my well-being, fostering a restful sleep environment. Despite sheer curtains, minimal furniture, and no TV, I encounter challenges framing small pictures. However, I consistently introduce fresh flowers each week, enhancing the overall ambiance. The video resonated with me as a delightful and thoughtful piece.🙋🏻♀️❤❤❤
This was the perfect topic of conversation for me. I adore the romantic look, but I also do not like a cluttered look. I’m more of a minimalist, romantic gal.
I absolutely adore hydrangeas , I do not have a green thumb, so almost everything is faux, and I add cotton balls dipped in essential oils for smell My husband also said the home is mine since I am the homemaker but the garage is his lol You are such a feminine inspiration
Thank you! My husband has strong feelings about hyper feminine decor and I really wish him to feel relaxed in our spaces but I did get some Cabbage and Roses sheets recently in grey/blue that brings romance for me and in a pallette he does not object to. The more I show consideration for his feelings then he trusts me to do what I like with all our spaces. I appreciated the book recommendations and the Victoria magazine inspo. I think about the places that make me feel the most romantic are gardens and those neat whimsical cottage style gardening places.
Romantic, vintage, feminine, shabby chic decor has my heart 🩷 It’s been a few years of embracing this style in my home decor and it’s added such a softness to our home. I love the colour pink, so it is certainly sprinkled throughout the house whether it’s blankets, bedding, dishes, etc. There’s also a lot of florals, lace and dried roses around our house and it brings me such joy. I am so grateful my husband is unphased by the feminine romantic decor style I have, and that he finds our home cozy and comforting. In fact, his favourite chair in the house is an old lady floral arm chair in our living room 😂 I am not a minimalist either, I like things but I don’t like clutter. Everything has a place. It’s so lovely adding romance and whimsy to our home
I agree with all of your points……and like you, I love pretty, classic, elegant, and minimal……I can never add something to a room without removing something else…..I get anxious if there is too much for the eye, lol……so glad to hear that I’m normal after all…..❤️👍
We live in a log home in the woods and it’s tough but I think I’ve made it somewhat girly! I’ve got lace curtains, doilies, vases with flowers, feminine comforters, etc.
Hi Nikki absolutely beautiful video. I love anything romantic, my husband isn't romantic but l do decorate in a romantic way. I love flowers and make my own arrangements. I have a low buffet that l put all my photos on children and Grandchildren. Our house has a lot of huge windows so not much room for pictures. I agree candles flowers always make it romantic. Those books you have look so gorgeous. Loved seeing little Lady in your bed absolutely adorable. Thanks Nikki loved this video ❤❤
When we built our home we had EVERY ceiling can light put on dimmers. We only use incandescent light bulbs in them. When we have evening guests they always comment how our rooms are so inviting and comfortable. Oddly When we visit thier homes we almost have to wear sunglasses! They have those awful glaring light bulbs which are suppose to save on electric bills. Strangely... thier electric bills are at least $100 more than ours. Lighting is so important!!!!
Loved this video. Romantic decor always makes me feel happy, feminine, and cozy. I am looking into the books you showcased for additional inspiration. More episodes like this are always appreciated! 💖💖💖
You are a huge inspiration to me. I think you are very talented and what I love most is the simplicity and class!!! Making do in a simple way that I can relate to because of funds that aren't in abundance!!! Your home is beautiful and very much my taste 💞
Absolutely wonderful video! I love feminine, romantic style so much. A few times I thought maybe I would try something different but I just don’t enjoy anything that isn’t very feminine. Your home and style is beautiful 💕💕
Hello Nikki, You shared some of my favorite books; I like to put a beautiful book under many of my decor pieces. Seeing what books people have in their homes is something I enjoy looking at when we are invited for dinner; books can be a great jumping off point if there is a lull in conversation, too. Beautiful video today.
I love your feminine and classy decor, Nikki. You have inspired me to search and find the exact french inspired clock that you have displayed in your home. I absolutely love it! 🌸
@@TheLadyoftheHouse Thank you so much! 😊 I actually got mine from Amazon a while ago. They had only one left and it’s the exact one, the vintage clockworks clock with the Roman numerals. 😊 I’m sorry for the confusion, I didn’t word my previous comment correctly. I agree, the other clock that they have is very beautiful as well. 🌸
Hi Nikki, I also don't enjoy photos of people on the wall and I think a part of it is because usually the colors in the photos don't go with the colors in the room. I really enjoyed this! The table top idea is really good.
Ok I'm swapping out my new duvet for a different scalloped quilt. 😂 I think my main issue is the dressed up element juxtaposed against American country. Like how I've pulled from a Thomas Kinkade cabin tapestry and use an unfinished worn wood desk. I do gravitate towards softer lighting, little lamps, scalloped detail textiles, stoneware etc. basket weaves, wicker baskets with the detail edged linings and I do love ruffles and lace so those are things I can implement more from your list. I would be on board with more pink or some florals but as often as I wear them I wouldn't want to blend into the house. Inspired as always. 💜💐
You've really found the balance of romantic decorating without your home looking cluttered with it. All of those books look inspiring! I have the French Country Cottage Inspired Gatherings book, but not her first book (I know, I bought it out of order). I'm going to get the one you have next. Thanks for the beautiful video, Nikki!
❤I love your decor style! It is exactly how i hope to decorate my home someday! Just wondering what the name of the paint colour is on your bedroom walls? Such a pretty shade!
I loved your video. Decor is one of my favourite things. I am currently in the process of decluttering and will be slowly renovating over the next couple of years. I am trying to add small things like faux flowers to make the everyday beautiful amongst the different coloured walls and miss matched furniture atm. My partner doesn't mind too much with how I want to decorate but won't have any Ikea furniture. We have recently purchased second hand Australian Oak wardrobes. I love them, but I was hoping for a more lighter/whiter colour scheme of furniture. I did think of painting them but that would be a lot of work and may take away their beautiful character. Also, candles and decor are difficult due to having my gorgeous but naughty cats. I can safely display a couple of vases and a gold tray (which is secured with tape lol) without them being knocked to the floor. Eventually, I will get a lovely display cabinet to display some things. I'm so glad I found you. I'm loving your beautiful content. Thank you for being you. 💖💞💞
Developing a romantic style sounds like great fun. I never thought much about home decor before, but you make it sound approachable. I was focused mainly on housework. While I have cut flowers from the garden, I need more now for the romantic ❤ look... preferably faux because of allergies. Your style has developed over the years too. You have a very refined romantic style.
I think I remember being drawn to a French Country Christmas edition in bookstores this past Christmas season, and when I saw it I thought of you, Nikki!💖I had so much fun just standing there looking in it!😊
Hi Nikki, This was such a helpful and inspiring video. I think your home shows a romantic style yet is not cluttered. Having just a couple of romantic pieces can work well with other styles as long as the scale of the furnishings is right. The important thing is to love what you have and enjoy your home. So many good suggestions in this video. Mirrors can really do wonders in so many places and really do make spaces feel bigger.
I love a femine style in my home. I live alone.so a femine style I try to have. I'm one of those people that has family pictures on my walls and tables. I' don't like alot of clutter in any room so thank you for sharing I love it.
Thank you Nikki! I truly enjoyed this video. Everything is so pretty and helpful. I realize now that my style is Romantic; i just never knew it, lol. Your home is so lovely; well done. You've worked hard; enjoy! Have a blessed weekend. isabella✝
Yes, Wilson’s Return to Pretty store is expensive… she has found a couple amazing pieces of original art that are truly well worth the price, but I wouldn’t want to pay for shipping to Canada. It’s nice to know that her book is worth it, though! I wasn’t sure if I should buy it. Next on my wishlist is your planner, though! I need one even though it’s late in the year because I just enrolled in summer school courses. Thanks for reviewing.
Hi! Just subscribed. I just had to purchase all the books you mentioned, and the Article on Mayhurst in the Victoria magazine was amazing! I am going there in Sept with my friends from a design group. Thank you for a beautiful video! 💖🌹
I have just started enjoying this style of decor. Part of the way I plan on incorporating it without making it too feminine is to use the colours green and blue in the kitchen and living areas so it isn't pink. Not everything has to be floral. Pillows can be solid or a different print. As well as tablecloths or runners, hand towels and dish towels etc. I have also started using floral in my purse. Floral wallet, small bags to keep things in, a notebook with a floral cover etc.
In our Hymnal at Church, there's a song in it that I just love. It celebrates Spring that GOD has made, hope you like it, it's called Morning Has Broken. I don't know how to send it, so you'll have to look it up. Are you still selling aprons, and are you still thinking of putting your artwork on tea towels? Thanks.

Soft warm lighting, lamps with crystals, scented soap, fresh or faux flowers, french provincial furniture, details details details, mirrors, ornate frames, tapered and pretty candles, monochromatic schemes, sheers or lace curtains, secretary desks, lining drawers, beautiful stationery 📝
