As a good American I’m not ashamed to admit I rock with Beefeaters and Britvic tonic. Thank you to the London bartender who saved me from a life of Bombay and Schweppes. I’ve tried Aviation but it’s best in a cocktail but not as good in a classic like a G&T. But if I want GIN I’m staying with the horse I rode in on Beefeaters. And it’s cheap too.

Beefeater vs Aviation? No contest. Beefeater blows it away. There are some good American gins. Aviation is not one of them, in my opinion. Beefeater is probably the most perfect gin ever created! ( I may be a little predjudiced!) Great review Bobby, thanks for all you do my friend.
Both gins are great. I like aviation on its own and for very spirit forward cocktails, whereas beefeater is just kind of my workhorse gin for any cocktail.
I challenge you to do a blind tonic-off! Is Fever Tree really worth more than double the price of Schweppes? Would a premium supermarket tonic fool you? All that good stuff. Blind though - no cheating ;)

I am not a fan of Aviation because of the strong cardamom. I love Beefeater and even better: Brokers. Brokers is the top gin under 21 euros. I wished you had done a Beefeater versus Brokers, because Beefeater versus Aviation is like Beyonce versus Streisand.

Hi Bobby. I'm fairly new to gin. My brother and I pounded down a shitload of Tanqueray once when I was 16 or 17. We mixed it with Hawaiian Punch mix. Just the powder, no water. We got sloshed and he puked all over my mom's driveway. That was like 43 years ago, and I was sure I'd never like gin. The wife and I decided to give a go, so about three weeks ago, we picked up some Aviation and some mixers after watching your video on what to mix with. Neither of us were crazy about it. After kicking that bottle she still wasn't a fan. I on the other hand can't get enough. Since then I tried Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire, and tonight I got a big bottle of New Amsterdam. It's not bad for the price. Beefeater is wonderful, but so far Aviation is my favorite. Probably gonna try Gunpowder Irish Gin next. I'm very open to suggestions from an old gin expert like yourself.
I like Aviation too with a new palette for Gin. If you can find it, Roku Gin is extremely delicious. It’s also not as Juniper forward, but they add their own twist.

I bought two bottles of Ha'Penny Dublin gin from ALDI in Sydney last week at around GBP 27.50 a bottle and 37.5% ABV. Lavender is one of the botanicals used in Ha'Penny, and sampling with Fevertree Indian, lavender was the ONLY thing I could taste. It reminded me of the lavender disinfectant used in my bathroom. I gave the rest of the bottle away today, and returned the unopened one to ALDI. Sorry about being so long winded but that is why I am now lavender shy.
Hey Zeddington To be honest, I don’t get much lavender in it. I have tried lavender gins before but don’t really like them. It might be worth a go. Maybe try it in a bar first before buying the whole bottle. 👍

I stopped drinking Beefeaters when I found out its botanicals include almonds, because I have an allergy to almonds and I was getting a reaction that I finally traced to the Beefeaters. It turns out that most gins have almonds, so now I use almondless Aviation (for Martinis) and almondless Boodles (for Negronis).
Beefeater is much better than aviation in my opinion. If I'm going to get a mass produced Gin it is usual going to be Beefeater or Bombay Sapphire. I know Bombay is usually not considered a good gin but I personally like the way it tastes
Bobby, got another couple of American gin distillers for you to try. Vikre gin out of Duluth, Minnesota. Check out their website. Also St. George's out of San Francisco. Both are representative of the craft gin revolution in the US. Love the videos... Cheers!
Beefeater was my go to brand absolutely love it but in the US few years back they lowered the abv from 47% 94 proof to 44% 88 proof and it's definitely not the same gin very strong citrus kinda gives me heartburn it's very different it's a shame for me. I've went back to tanqueray it's 47.3% 94.6 proof it's a good gin need to try others but will see what happens.

No it's fair.. 200 years of experience to an America Gin and I say America as in (North, Central and South) NCS. Doesn't have that experience of Gins. To be on the same playing field is great, but you're absolutely right it comes down to preference and that's what I have been looking for. I can't stand Bombay too fruity. If you have something mild not a shank of flavor than that's what I am after. If you have that with another. Probably won't be able to enjoy it as much. So excellent review. Try both if you're not a gin guy and find which one you like. Cause it's clear. You will pick BeefEater cause it's your bread and butter, but Aviation is clealry a good if not fair tie. Which 200 years of experience. Aviation 2006. Yeah. It's all about who listens to the brewing process that makes great products. Time and time again.

Especially considering Ryan Reynolds gave you a shout out, you obviously are biased, so when you bash other gins in comparison to Beefeater but not the Aviation Gin, there's not much to talk about.
