They are my favorite tuners too... I have been using them on all my builds . You can really feel the difference.

lol - Grapthech has patent on gear ratios? Is that even possible? But anyway - they make some great tuners. I will have to get a set and see if I like 'em. Thanks for posting up.

Never thought of white oak for a neck but I bet that’s really sturdy. What do you do to age the wood? I’ve seen people use vinegar w steel wool to darken the wood and make it look older but are you doing something different? You said you stained after so curious.

Why would you drill for this install when these come with universal adapter plates?

I know it is a difficult question, but how is the metal quality compared to lets say Sperzel or Gotoh?

I use hipshot on all my builds, really like the feel and tuning stability. Then I discovered they’re made in the USA, sold me even more. I tried the ratio set but not impressed. I think they’re nice but I’ll stick with hipshot as I think the quality is better. Price is more realistic to.

Like those a lot too. The pricing premium on the Ratio is significant. I suppose if I was building something high end with machined instead of cast bridge and tailpiece etc... they would be a great option. But for an everyday tele, hard to imagine the uptick in price is worth it. I don't begrudge these guys charging a premium for the patents but its going to limit their market. You can buy some great tuners for half the price.
That said, it's good to see meaningful advances in technology some 70 years after the intro of the electric guitar and I like that Derek is constantly looking for a edge and putting this stuff out there.

Jim Ford right on, I do appreciate seeing them also and as I said I tried a set but really felt I could not tell a significant difference and price point was to much. Thanks

I just upgraded my acoustic with Ratio Tuner and I am loving them. I want to put a set on my Stratocaster, do you know if those 2 pin Ratio tuners will just drop in and fit the holes on the Strat headstock?

I don't think they'll fit a Fender strat, but I do know they will fit a Squier standard. However, those mounting templates help these tuners to fit almost all contemporary and even vintage headstocks.
