I own a 2019 EG Standard and made it my own. Added lower fairing, stereo, King tour pack, handlebars and more (over last two years). Love this bike, no regrets.
@@phyllistrussell2819 I installed a Sony AX500 plug-n-play kit about 2 1/2 years ago. I recently upgraded to a SoundStream Reserve HDHU14+ which is 100% better due to it being waterproof (IPx6 rating). I would sometimes have issues with the Sony unit when I washed my bike. I have not ridden my bike in the rain yet (don't judge me LOL).
I just traded in my 114 street bob for a new 2022 Electra glide 107. 107 is plenty of motor. I needed a more comfortable motorcycle for 2 up riding at an affordable price! I absolutely love the looks of the Electra Glide. My father had Electra Glides for years growing up. I am a bit partial to the batwing because of that. I am so proud and humble to have my own now! Minimalistic, raw and an absolutely beautiful motorcycle!
@@HoneyBeagle the price is right and the looks for me. The road king was a close 2nd as well. No regrets. The comfort level is superior. The street bob was fun tho around town.
Good review. The handlebars are easy to adjust on these bikes just a bit of a PITA. Also, the buffeting is mostly coming from underneath not all from the windshield. An easy fix is to either put lowers or even better are the so called "fangs" that mount to the forks. Same thing was happening on my Heritage and the fangs completely cured the helmet bobble.
My Harley was an 08, and I loved that bike . I’ve been thinking about my next bike purchase in a couple years , and I had been looking at lots of other bikes , but I just might come back to the Standard again . Glad you rode this one for us !!
Been thinking about one of these for a couple years as my first HD, but I highly doubt I’ll pull the trigger. Too indecisive and my list of bikes I want is too long. That said, I love the FLHT. It’s back to basics HD touring. It’s not about all the chrome (nor the inverse gloss black trim for that matter), or the big stereo, flashy paint, oversized wheels or even loud pipes (unless you want it to be), and it’s better for it. This is the Harley for riders. It’s not about who’s got more cc’s or more bling or who spent more at the dealership. The guys who bought the $45k CVO but only put 500 miles a year will never admit how jealous they are of the guy who bought the EG Standard and put on 20k miles in one year.
Great review. I have a 2020 EG Standard. I threw a stereo in mine and blacked out all the chrome. Highly recommend this bike if you want something to modify, it’s already stripped down. And those are just speaker pods, no actual speakers. All the wiring harness are there in place for when you want to upgrade. Super easy.
I've looked at so many bikes to move up to. I always come back to baggers and one of the my top choices is this and the Road King standard. The price points make them more approachable. Plus, I can add to it myself with all of the Harley after market parts out there
Totally disagree on the wow gasp and awe factor. Just bought one, love the Street Glide, but I have no reason for a stereo, perfect for me. I am coming off of a BMW S1000XR and I have to say, I don't miss it. The FLHT is smooth, powerful and lot more agile than it has a right to be at its weight.
6:20 standard Street Glide/Road Glide have the 107. Special gets the 114 and ST/CVO get the 117. People get too hung up on the base engine. The 103 was fantastic in its day and it still is. You never needed the 110. Same for the 96 before it. If those were more than adequate, how could the 107 (with 4 valve heads that the Twin Cam didn’t have) not be enough?
Loyal subscriber, dude. Great video, and by far, your coolest opener. That edit you made with the saddlebag opening into a mirrored shot of the bike was seamless AF!
My 2022 Electra glide standard is a sumping piece of crap 600 miles of correct riding , not even make it to 1000 mile oil change . Stage 1 package 📦 Service manager at said roughneck Harley in long view Texas said the breather had too much oil when installed 😂 isn’t that red oil ? And pretty sure that the big sucker breathers Don’t hold 1/2 quart of oil . Harley lies like a rug .
I admire that model. It's what I do like. I would order it with the RDRS and the OHLINS rear shocks. But it's a pity not marketed in Europe. You keep the really good things on USA. Who knows, I daydream to fly there, buy one somewhere on west coast, ride to the East then north to Canada, put it in a ship, then from Irland, across UK, Europe to home country Greece.
Very nice platform. If I was in the market for a Street Glide I'd chose this instead. With that said the Road King or Road King Special checks more boxes for me. Love my 2020 Road King Special. Take care.
Id take this over the sport cause this is like the softail standard its a great bike on its own and all the shit u wanna customize isnt just gonna be a waste
It does not come with Speakers on the Bike when you Purchase new. Not a deal breaker though I purchased a 2022 Electra Glide Standard and absolutely love it
Absolutely the smartest move to build a "Performance Bagger" is this bike.... The smart guy's are buying these for a song and spending the saved $$$$$$ over the basically same bike (overhyped) SGST on true aftermarket performance mods.... Why in the heck would a rider pay way more $$$$$ for a SGST for parts you're gonna trash anyways on the build path for performance?
I have a 2005 Electra Glide Standard. Love it! Never had anyone say anything bad about it. I’m always being asked if I’m interested in selling. I plan to keep it after I purchase my 2022 Ultra Limited.
Wouldn’t the Road King be the ultimate “budget” touring bike? It’s got a lot more on it and is way less than a SG or RG. Road King is all modular and shit .. take off windshield and u got a bar hopper. Put on a detachable chopped tour pack and travel far as hell. I know it’s not long but road up to MI from IL .. didn’t need to stop at all. 85mph straight thru Great wind protection with the windshield if u add those fork wing deflector. And RK customizes soooo well. Can gangster it out or do a more touring motif .. or go for more or a nostalgic build Yea I’m simping hard for the FLHR (the STANDARD model way better .. for that price difference to get 114 and blacked out … u can do a full aftermarket stage 2 and make way more power than a 114.. and with the RKS u don’t get the wind shield or the passing lamps.. passing lamps are a MUST And yes .. ppl are sleeping hard on the Electra glide standard. It’s a dope ride and is a blank canvas
100% agree with everything you just said. The things I said may sound stupid, because I had to stretch to find the flaws in the bike. Those are just the weakest points in my opinion. If they aren’t bad to you, then it’s the bike for you.

What type of stereo system did you get?

I’m right there with you. About to trade my street bob on a bagger. Was looking at the street glide but need to check this out

Thinking about getting this model with Stage 3 and RDRS.
Good video i just upgraded to this bike coming off a sporty
Big jump! Congrats on the new bike man!

you can do so much with this bike great platform to do your on custom treatments on a budget.l know l got one all dressed out
It’s the next bike I’m getting. Going from a ‘14 Iron 883 to this is the best investment to me!
Hell yeah! Awesome jump up!

Great review of a very nice bike. It would be an excellent upgrade from my Softail.
Wrong no speakers in the fairing I own one and just did soundstream reserve install

I’m going for a Electra glide knowing what I know now I don’t want that big ass tour pack tho I’m only riding around my state
I think would be an awesome choice!

If you’re going to keep saying extremely low price at least give the price
Blockhead much?
I guess I’ll take that as a compliment 😂
