  • In the video I review the 2021 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Standard FLHT. This bike is a perfect for someone who doesn't need all the "extras" but wants a solid touring bike. Also great for anyone looking to build a performance bagger.

    The 107 is a great engine! It was a huge upgrade from the 96 I also have. I find it amusing that a lot of people are still boosting the 114, but to each their own. For me, it has plenty of power, but the only reason I have it is because I bought a 2020 Street Glide and I wanted a chrome engine, not all blacked out. Just think though, this bike is what, $7-8k less than the Specials? That money can go a long way to build this up if one was so inclined.

    Just bought mine yesterday! No speakers behind the covers, but it's nice to have everything set up for the stereo when I'm ready to put one in. I'm glad to have a bike I can build to my taste without having to pay for a lot of stuff I'd end up replacing anyway!

    I just bought mine over memorial weekend and it is awesome! Traded my softail and the ride is so comfortable. I took all the reflectors off and blacked out the turn signals. Plenty of power. Ready to upgrade with stage two with full exhaust. Great buy!!!

    I just bought the 21 EGS. Love it. Did a stage 1 using the V&H Torquer 450 exhaust, Arlin Ness air flow & SE tuner. Added a chopped solo tour pack, rear LED tail lights and filler lights, changed the headlight and lights to the Everything LED. Next is handle bars. I will do that in Sturgis this summer. Maybe a radio, too.
    I love this bike. I also have a 2019 Heritage softail that I have done upgrades to as well.
    I am brand new to riding (December 2019), 60 years young and feel like I have unleashed a hidden talent. I love my motorcycles!!! I love riding!! 💘
    I will do a walk-around video of my EGS next week and post it to my channel.
    Thanks for your review as well here. I am a new subscriber.

    I traded In my street bob last week for a new 2022 electra glide. The wife wasn't happy riding 2 up on the bob so I said well I'm going full bagger then. My father had Electra Glides for many years and loved them. Now I have my own! What a world of difference in riding comfort. Cobra 909 pipes have been ordered and high flow air cleaner will be ordered in a few weeks to complete the stage 1. Stage 2 coming over the winter. Great video as always 👍

    Great bike, got a 2019 leftover in 2020 with a 5K discount. Added a lot, my favorite mods : Sony XAV-AX7000, Lower fairings made it possible to install 4 rockford fosgates and the Ohlins HD772 shocks. The standard rear shocks are bad, really bad 😢 The Ohlins made it the perfect ride.

    So funny about the radio thing and completely true, peace and quiet, or wind noise is nice sometimes. While I have a bagged and built 2002 Night Train that owns my soul lol, I'm in Love with those EG Standards. I'd like to add a touring bike and do exactly what you said, build on a blank canvas because it's all getting changed anyway. I'd do a warranty build, which should be plenty to have some fun with a nice suspension, legend or ohlins, even progressives would be better than stock. Honestly, I think the plain red badge on the black is perfect. I usually debadge my bikes but this is nice, I'm not a fan of multi colors or designs like the CVO. If they could get it down to 16g's it would be great but to keep it still within reach of a street glide seems like a smart marketing angle to get people to bite. Thanks for the review

    I'm looking at one of these, going to text ride it this weekend and the dealer said they would put a 2up seat and pegs on for my wife. Overall I think it's a good fit for my style. I use sena so I dont need the info center in the fairing but I would benefit from the glove box.

  • @davidc3943
    @davidc3943 3 роки тому +2

    This bike would be perfect. I have a sena on my full face, so there is no need for a radio. I get a faring bike to deflect wind, and I get bags to store stuff in. The price range is perfect. 107 is just a tad bit slower on top end compared to a 114 but can still keep up with the pack. This is prolly the bike I’m gonna get at the end of the year. I been lookin at street glides and road glides, but like I said, don’t really need a radio and bells and whistles. Stripped down bagger is my type of style!

      @edsbikerstuff 3 роки тому

      @@garrysceppa7508 I posted a reply but it didn't take for some reason so I will try again just in case you get two replies. What kind of riding do you want to do the MOST? Are you commuting on it? City? Country? Short or. long trips? This will be a heavy bike for a first bike. How did you feel on the test ride? Have you test driven any other bikes? Touring bikes are heavy and most people don't start out on them for their first bike. That's not to say you can't handle it, I'm sure you can. I would take other test drives on different sizes of bikes before you make a final decision. Are you dead set on a Harley? If so, I would try the Heritage, the Street Bob, and maybe a Road King, which is also a heavy bike but those will give you some comparisons on how comfortable you are and which one feels better. Then test drive this bike again. Still feels the best? I would also recommend taking a motorcycle safety course before you purchase anything. That will educate you on your basic riding skills and different situations you will face as a rider.
      Touring bikes have the advantage of a larger gas tank so you don't have to stop for fuel as often but they are heavy bikes. Let me know what you decide and keep me posted.
      Always happy to see another new biker join the fun. Take Care.

      @@edsbikerstuff thank you for the info i've taking the safety course last November and I'm about 6ftoot 230 and my riding style will be highway and city riding . I havent made my decision yet but thank you very much oh im in Maryland.

      @@garrysceppa7508 Garry this is good. You're starting to know what your body feels best. Also, don't get in a hurry. Take your time testing and riding to see what most suits you. This is also a financial decision in which I would hate for you to get a bike only to have remorse and watch it sit in your garage most of the time. I'm in Oklahoma but my best friend that I've known all my life lives in Ocean City. Oh and also, I found this out the hard way is handle bars make a huge difference in my
      handling of the bike so keep that in mind also. Once you make a purchase you can have the dealer adjust them higher or lower.

      @garrysceppa7508 3 роки тому +1

      @@edsbikerstuff I apologize for all the questions my first thought on the standard was the handle bars are low so that info you gave me was perfect and I was going to add the rdrs on the bike as well. The price of all this is included in my budget I already have great gear that I bought before and after my class at Patriot Harley in Fairfax Va. Also I'm still in the 180days of receiving my license to get that discount on my bike but I'm not sure if that is the way I want to go or not and I'm not in a rush because of that . I wish Harley would make that dash cap open up towards the fairing instead of towards the rider. I would make it so much easier to put gas in. You are so lucky to be able to test ride. Here in Canada, the dealers won't let you test ride. You're lucky if they let you sit on them.

    For 20 grand, I am on a fairing bike. I love my FLSS, but my back says otherwise. At 41, it's time to get the bagger. I think this bike with a zippers 468, new exhaust and a tune will make this bike a mean SOB for minimal effort and cost.

You guys have all sorts of bad ass VICTORY road DYNAS. I wish I could afford that INDIAN CHALLENGER you showed us at the beginning. It’s was better then that stupid Harley Davidson s1000rr or the even dumber Harley ROAD STAR WARRIOR!! 😂😂 all joking aside. I really found a lot of useful info in this video. It makes a lot of sense to get an ultra glide if your going to build one out the way you want to. It’s a super cheap starting point. I’m not sure if you mentioned the engine. But I think they come with the M8 107? I was wondering if they came with any other engine? Like the 114. And does it come with a 6 speed? It’s a dumb question. But if you think about it, it would make sense to offer it with a 5 speed to save more on the price. But at this point I’m sure it would be a huge step backwards if they did that. Keep these vids coming!! Got a lot of good info out of it and even had some damn good laughs!!😂😂

      I am facing that “dilemma” myself. I can’t make up my kind if I want to go with another Electra Glide Standard or a Road King Standard. I currently ride an 02 Electra Glide and will not sell or trade it in so I am leaning toward Road King. I have owned a Road King before. The bikes are essentially the same with the exception of the gauge layout and fairing on the FLHT. The batwing fairing works wonderfully with wind reduction but the Road King is the quintessential Harley. It’s just a matter of preference and style really

    I’ve been trying to think about upgrading from a Street Bob to a touring model and think the Electra Glide standard all I need. I don’t get why it’s a 150 lbs heavier than a Street Bob, are those pannier cases and the bat wing made of lead? Lol.

    I don't see the point in this bike! A few k more and you could have the SG. With this bike you ride around with a big hole where the radio should be and speaker holes with no speakers! I get the idea that you can put your own radio/sat nav in but then that begs the question why not just save a bit more and buy the SG?!

      When I was in sales it was usually older guys that didn't care about the radio. It was between this and the FLHR usually and some liked the fairing. It's the old, less to go wrong mentality sometimes too. Like the guys who want manual windows in their new Buick lol.

      Mark, I have to disagree with you, I currently own a ‘20EGS, the 4K in savings, I was able to put in a Sony Stereo with speakers, (total plug and play)changed out the windscreen to a Klockwerks, changed all the lights to Custom Dynamics, LED’s all said and done a little over 2K..Im good with an extra 2K in my pocket

      Just returned from San Diego,CA and rented a SG tourer for the week..while the bike was almost identical to the EGS, I personally felt that the EGS felt a tad more comfortable..I think it has to do with the the front tire being more beefier.. Ride Safe Brother

      For some, this is the perfect bike (me included). 48, single, veteran w/ back issues. Softails don't feel soft anymore. I can ride the shit out of this thing, and let each ride dictate needs vs wants vs desires. It comes with cruise, and ABS linked brakes, so it's about as safe and comfortable as a bike can get. Add the docking and security systems and it's literally the perfect entry level bagger.
