Some absolute beauties there, i never realy understood the power of barbel to just recently when i caught a small one pounder on the fly while fly fishing for trout, grayling, and chub, amazingly it gave a very different fight to the other 3 species and i had no idea what it was till i netted it.
I often find the small barbel will give a more energetic fight. The big ones do run a bit but mostly just feels heavy and powerful. Hoping to get a fly fishing vid out soon...
some absolutely great angling and superb barbel,it would be good to see set up bait and feeding etc.but once again superb thanks very much for taking the time and trouble to do the uploads looking forward to the next one.
Quite standard rig wise, just a running rig with a hair rigged quick stop. Nothing fancy but you don't need to over complicate things for barbel, strength is more important along with making sure you don't tether fish if you break off.
Really well done. Two doubles from the Ouse is not the easiest thing to manage. The bream are quite something down there, they don't half kick up a fuss.
Nice catch! I managed a barbel from the YDAA side right there on my 2nd ever attempt. Blanked yesterday without a hint. It was on the cards though as new rod curse ;-) D'you prefer Leeds book or just fancy a change?
My wife and I enjoy your videos. Just 2 Things though. Wish they were longer and PLEASE stop showing us 'what's coming up' we don't want to see what you've caught right at the beginning. Otherwise they sre great viewing. More please.
That’s a good peg at Nun monkton, the only thing that spoils it are the walkers slamming the gate!
Loving the AC/DC Thunderstruck cover!
That banjo and mandolin classic.
Love fishing this stretch awesome fishing
Me too, although not made the most of it this year! Too busy with trout...
Great video again and achievement on 2 doubles. Looking forward to seeing your next video 👍

Thanks so much. I have had a couple of requests for rigs and bait so might have to do a vid soon, although nothing special.
Awesome couple of sessions, well done my friend, some stunning whiskers, tight lines, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig 🙏🌿
Thanks Craig!
Tip - There are some really superb chub in the River Foss just behind Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy in Strensall at the moment.
Cheers, I have fished there in the past but not too recently.
Love your videos mate
Thanks a lot!
opposite the tower at Beninbrough! great fish, would like to see your rig and bait, feeding ect.

Many thanks, hope to get a few more out before it gets really cold. Half the battle with the bream on the Ouse is finding the shoals!
@@riverfossfishing Oh yes. They just tend to turn up when they're not really wanted.
Good watercraft picking the inside line for the last fish. Is that a Diawa regal br? I've had one for a while...Cracking reels.
I like to fish close in in floods, and fishing mostly smaller rivers often have no choice! Its a soniks reel, I tend to fish them or shimano.
Where abouts on the Ouse is this? What stretch>

Thanks, I fish both books quite a bit.
