Trip down memory lane with this video, caught my first barbel some 35 years ago from that stretch just upstream from your last peg. 8lb and my hands were shaking upon netting it ! Not as prolific as the Trent, but Swale barbel fight like tigers! Well done.

Only ever caught Barbel at night from that stretch. Freelined meat under the bushes might produce.

Funny that you didn't think to fish the weir. Does your ticket end above it?
Most barbely spot under that Weir like.

It says not to fish danger and it's a long way down and no where to put the fish back safely

Also don't use ova bags on a river mate. They float too much and disperse your bait too far down stream.
