We had a bad year in private aviation the past year. Good job getting back on the ground safely.

Well done and def shows you have training an a calm mind.
Here in NZ the major cell companies are going to be using Starlink an the other provider to cover the country so you could in theroy use your cellphone to call air traffic control etc if really needed which i think is amazing especially in situations like this for less skilled people or if your out boating....but knowledge and training is a key to success

What ya can do is get the phone numbers for the airports on or near each flight path ya take but also always carry a handheld airband transceiver so atleast u still have radio comms and due to being higher up u will get a good distance with it

I come from a family of pilots and my vote would have been to land at the nearest runway asap. I haven't flown in decades.
While not knowing why the electronics was shutting off my fear would have been total electronic failure of the plane or worse and electric fire aboard. Thankfully that didn't become an issue. I'm always on the side of getting on the ground safely while we can control the plane and not just at the mercy of gravity and hope.
*Glad you all made it home safely.*

I'm glad you made it home safe Parker, and Thank You I needed to hear that as a reminder, when the shit hits the fan, stay calm and collected to figure the problem out. Because if you panic, you make stupid mistakes.

@Teeth & Turbos; @Teeth&Turbos; Parker, this video along with others, especially within aviation are among those which interest me most in addition to those within motor vehicles.
My background is within mechanics, mechanical, electrical, electronics, advanced mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, design, development, verification, certification, testing, troubleshooting, problem solving. Also included in my experience is within advanced avionics. Have personally been interested in becoming a pilot especially during university [~45 yrs ago]. Had some time with using, 'flying' a fixed based flight deck simulator with a full aircraft cockpit, avionics, computer simulation including 'real feel' and large screen visual with a large wide body commercial aircraft [MD-11].
My question with this aircraft [seemingly Your now ?] is where are the actual electronics, avionics place ? Is there any access to the electronics from inside the cockpit, that any troubleshooting can be performed during flight ? If so, it would be especially helpful to have just a DVM, perhaps some other simple tools to carry when flying, along with some basic knowledge of troubleshooting.
According to Your description, apparently the transformer [not inverter] which transforms, converts 12 VDC to the necessary 5 VDC for the electronics [radios also require the 12 VDC] apparently was overheating, thus failing. There are simple solutions with the high, overheat condition, at least temporarily, as needed.
Clearly You and Your co-pilot are well trained, developed including with among the most important aspect of calm, clear thinking, knowing, following, executing proper procedures, methods, decisions.
During the flight deck simulator experience, within my tasks the management requested my presence to support during a week of the test pilots use, following prepared procedures. The microcomputer which provided all of the simulation aspects for each of the avionics, devices, visual, etc. performed all of the algorithm software to accomplish the desired, needed results. At that time there was still a known software code error, 'bug', which was not yet fully corrected that resulted in some severe uncontrollable conditions in which there was nothing any avionics control nor pilot control could affect the simulated flight, thus the aircraft would simply crash out of control. Then the simulation computer was reset, restarted to operate again quickly following the event. This did not occur often, but within that week it did occur at least one, may twice. The test pilots were certainly aware of this known software error. Nonetheless, when this error occurred, the pilots executed their well known, established procedures, execution such to make every attempt to control the aircraft. As stated, nothing they could or would do, could be effective, but they ignored that, and proceeded as if the condition was real, with all necessary procedures. Also, noted they performed every operation including those within that extreme situation with complete calmness, constantly following procedures, speaking between them, etc. This was very impressive to me. This also reminded me of some of the live communications transmissions during space craft flights, especially during some of the challenges, problems, issues, troubleshooting, problem solving including during Apollo 13. The media portrayals are always incorrect, improper, invalid for any level pilot, not only private pilots also commercial pilots, especially with all military and test pilots. All of the early US chosen astronauts for NASA were among the top test pilots within USAF, USN.
All The Best and Much Success in Your Quests, Health, Happiness and Well Being, Sincerely

I suspect the seller knew of the problems with the avionics. I hope I'm wrong because not disclosing that to the buyer who is flying cross country in IFR conditions could be fatal. Way to work through it and get home safely.
