This looks so natural. Thanks for the video! I'm glad I'm not alone in doing the "wipe off" method when I mess up. Sometimes I feel like I wipe more paint off than I put on.
Thanks for watching! Totally not alone on that. I have a wipe off method for creating a texture/adjustment when my glazing gets too thick. I'll do a video on that sometime, too.
I watch your video on how to paint hair you did a great job on it I have learn a hole by watching your video think you for the video am going to watch your other videos you are a wonderful 👍😊 and great 😃👍 painter again think you have a wonderful 👍😊 and great 😃👍 day be safe 😊
Yes, I have it set better now. Of course, the video that's half out of focus is the only one to get over 10,000 views. Lol. Thanks for the tip and the watch!!
Really nice tutorial. We have to remember to paint what we actually see versus what we think we see. Applies to drawing 5 sausages for fingers and applies to colours for hair.
I personally use a lot of Reaper paints, and they have a triad explicitly for blonde hair - and none of them are "yellow", they're more like pale desaturated ochres. I was personally glad to see a bunch of Reaper paints on your desk, including that Sample you tried to hide the label of at the start. :D
Great tutorial and great timing as I need to sit down and start working on my Rohirrim (soonish?) and this will work well with them I think. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you very much! I adore Vince and he did a great one on Saturday. I was really pleased to hear him say a lot of the same stuff that I did.
Unfortunately for your expressed worries, the second angle also ended up out of focus sometimes but I was still able to follow. This was a fantastic tutorial and also really explained a few things about where to focus highlights as well, awesome stuff!
Great question! It's similar, but not as extreme. Nmm requires major contrast changes, and here we're not going as dark or to the absolute brightest possible. Also, the placement of where the contrast is keeps it from looking metallic, but they are similar colors for my gold nmm. I have a video on that coming soon (January or february), so look out for that. But if you want my gold nmm secrets early, let me know, and I'll get you some brief tips and colors.
Hey guys. As usually a solid and “makes sense”. Idea I have always wanted to paint darker skin tones, such as African. 😊do you have a 3d printer yet? It would be interesting to see what you would do
Thanks! I actually have a video planned on just that topic (darker skin tones). It's easier than we make it. Yes, we actually have 2 3d printers. We'll schedule a video to share our very limited knowledge on that. I mean, it works for us, but we're a far cry from experts on that topic. Lol.
My only additional comment would be that some of the paints you used were a little uncommon at best. Can you break down the colors on some kind of color chart or planning board so those of us who don’t have the exact same could find alternatives? Oh and your hands looked fine. I heard that you were concerned about that
Well, here's a bunch of them for your reference. But any yellowish browns, tans, khaki, or beige will work. Reaper Linnen White - Citadel Typhon Ash, Vallejo off-white, AK Interactive Ivory, Army Painter, Brainmatter Beige Scale75 Gobi Brown - citadel steel legion drab, Vallejo English Uniform, Reaper Rich Leather, AK Interactive, Olive Drab, Army Painter Cypress Brown AK Interactive Light Earth - Citadel Mrghast Bone, Vallejo Beige, Reaper Gnawed Bone, Army Painter Dune Sea
Gorgeous work. Never apologize for such talented fingers. Great video!
Thanks!!
This has been quite helpful. Thanks.
Glad to hear it. Thanks for watching.
Love that reaper linen white, my favorite off white from any brand, makes its way into so many highlighting mixes
Totally agree. Super versatile 👍
Holy crap, this makes way more sense than what i was doing. Thank you for the vid!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!!
That was helpful. Thanks for the How-to!

@@mandysminis I would love to see that! I've just subscribed.
Thanks! I'll get it on the schedule as soon as possible.
Thank you for this - the shortness was nice so I could watch during a quick breakfast…new sub 👍🏻
Thanks!
Good video. I am always amazed at how fast you get your figures finished even with editing
It's from commissions. The faster you get done, the sooner you get paid and the more commissions you can take. Lol.
excellent video and explanation of the layering
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Thanks, I really don't like to use yellow paint (they're harder to use for some reason). Definitely gonna try this.
Yes, yellow is really tricky. A red base coat under the yellow helps give you better coverage though. I'd love to see pics of how it goes.

I'm so glad! Thank you for watching!! I look forward to hearing about or even seeing your minis. Thanks again!
Would highly suggest not using autofocus on your cameras. Manually pull the focus to a spot you know you can hit.

Thanks for making this, I'm painting a mini right now that I'm going to try this out on.
I'd love to see photos when you're done. Thanks for watching!
This is fantastic, thanks! :)
Thanks!
Awesome colors! I used yellow on hair once and it looked like a cartoon
It seems so easy, yet ends up so wrong. Thanks for watching!

The first time I ever mixed a blonde color, I think I used Reaper Desert Sand as a base.
Yes, I don't like the triads because I prefer more contrast than they offer. But I think they are great for beginners.
I LOVE desert sand. It's one of my go to colors.
Genius!
Linen White by Reaper is such a nice color.
Yes, very versatile. Thanks for watching!
Thank you algorithm ive stimbled upon this vid/channel

Glad that works out. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the next one is way better. Sort of got the hang of the new angle more. Glad it still helped. Thanks for watching!
great tutorial. Thanks

thanks for the tip i have been trying to get blonde hair on my mins for a while now with no good luck ill try this on my next min
Thanks for watching! I hope this helps. Please send me some pics. I'd love to see the results!
Great video! Thank you. Can you tell me where you got your paint brush holder?
Thanks! I got it off Amazon. Best way to store your brushes.
What miniature and range is this from?
The one on the thumbnail is from Reaper Miniatures. The one I paint is a 3d print from dm stash.
Is this pretty close to doing gold NMM on the hair? At least as far as the colors go?

I've given up with trying to keep paint off my hands. Lol. What brand do you have? I can give you specific matches.
Well, here's a bunch of them for your reference. But any yellowish browns, tans, khaki, or beige will work.
