This video inspired me to paint my Dark Eldar Scourge wings in a realistic way. First time I've ever gotten compliments on my painting while I've been working. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Looking awesome. I watched all three of your videos and they're very informative and easy to follow. Thank you! I really hope you return with more videos!
Oh nice, that’ll look great! I like the idea of using this technique for super bright fantasy style wings as well, might have to try that at some point!
I just bought Karl Franz and I was wondering how to paint the wings on Deathclaw. This looks soooooooooo good, and the process does not require mass amounts of skill? This is amazing, thank you so much!
My first time watching one of your video's. I loved how clear and concise it was, really hope to see more from you. My only constructive suggestion would be to possibly have a banner in each stage showing the paint you're using and the hexcode of that colour, makes it easier with multi-step tutorials
Another of the Teclis and Celennar (and beginner) painters looking for some guidance, this looks amazing. I was thinking of going for a more out there color scheme, like pink/purple, but I guess the technique might be applicable there too?
Glad you like it! This would absolutely work with other colours, if you stick with darker pinks and purples where I’ve used the dark browns and blacks, and lighter ones where I’ve used the lighter browns and creams I think it’ll look really affective. Go with whatever you think looks cool, that’s what it’s all about!
@@MiniPainterMeg Thanks for the input, I'll probably give that a try. Will have to see what colors would best complement each other, but I like the idea. I just saw the inside of the wing on your IG too, that's truly amazing work.
Great video, I never get those sharp pencil like strokes when I'm painting. Anyone got any tips or tricks for those? Does the cut of tip help this as well?
Amazing, if you use this scheme for all of Magnus I really want to see the completed model. Do you think you can use alternate color schemes with this pattern to make super natural looking wings?
Thank you very much! I’m trying a cooling magma effect for his body and I think it’ll look really good next to these wings. You absolutely could use other colours to create different looks. I think even a blue undercoat slowly building through purple and red to pink would look great as a fantasy style wing.
Why did UA-cam recommend this to me literally half an hour after I finished painting Yndrasta it would have been awesome to do something like this with her wings XD
I am kinda new to mini painting and painted my 5th figure ever (a Lord Imperant from the Stormcast Eternals, who has some feathers on his coat), and this was SOOOO super helpful. My result looked kinda different, because my mini is way smaller, and because I got no skill (yet ^^), but it looks amazing. And then I saw you got only 255 subs (well, now 256), I can't believe that. Will shout out your channel on my platforms, and thx so much for the tutorial. My only suggestion for improvement: This horrible standard happy vlog music annoys the hell outta me xD
This is so lovely to read, thank you for the kind words and I’m glad you found the video helpful! Unfortunately, the music was the only royalty-free one I could find that I liked 😂
Looks so awesome!!! I'm painting at the moment a Deva from Reaper, and although is basically an angel I'm sort of painting it on the "dark side", what color scheme do you recommend to use on her wings with your technique
It took me a while to figure out the consistency of the paint I must admit! I ended up applying it with a very damp brush in the end instead of properly thinning it, that might help?
It blows my mind that the entire process is so short it looks fantastic, cant wait to try it out
Looks great
Thx for that Meg, would love to see the Griffon completed.

Amazing technique, I will definitely try it on my griffin. Thank you !
A great idea. Cheers
Looks great! A difficult look to achieve made to look so simple. Definitely going to follow you.
Followed this today. As a brand new painter I was very happy it was easy to follow and understand. Thank you
So glad you found it helpful, thank you for the comment!
Looks great and love the idea! Going to try and replicate this for my own Magnus (but with a bit more reddish tones).
Oh nice, that’ll look great! I like the idea of using this technique for super bright fantasy style wings as well, might have to try that at some point!
Yess cant wait to try this. Its so good that I have all the correct paints too!
I just bought Karl Franz and I was wondering how to paint the wings on Deathclaw. This looks soooooooooo good, and the process does not require mass amounts of skill?
This is amazing, thank you so much!
This is great, I’m looking forward to try this later!

This looks great, many thanks. I'm getting ready to paint Teclis and Celennar from Warhammer Age of Sigmar and this surely provides helpful tips.
Glad you like it! I think this would look awesome on Celennar 😁
Amazing tutorial definitely subscribing to your channel 👏
This is great. You are the best. Thank you so much
Very nice Work
Thank you so much! I learned a lot from you. I used this on some Aaracockra wings and they turned out insane!
Love it! I'll be using this technique ty. Subbed 😉👍
Thank you, I think it’s a great job. Now I dare try my griffon’s wings. Thanks again.
Amazing, i need to use this!!
Sublime ! Thanks a lot ✨

@@MiniPainterMeg I also sent you a follow over on Instagram. 'Deftwerks'
thank you so much I'm about to start a saurous army and this has given me some great idea's thank you so much
Amazing effect, thank you for the demonstration! What is that angled brush you are using for the banding of the feathers?
That's awesome. Royal pegasus will get this treatment.
this is pretty insane
Hopefully in a good way! 😅
@@MiniPainterMeg obviusly. Kinda wanted say "unreal", but... XD
Thanks for this, currently painting an Aarakocra from Nolzur’s range. I’m going to try and achieve a similar effecr but the wings are 5 times smaller?
Really gorgeous! Any advice on how to do this for white wings? I'd like to give my Magnus an almost angelic look.

That looks great. Do you do the same for the other side of the wing?
Thank you! It’s the same technique, yeah. For this paint job I swapped the colours for creams and whites with a little bit of brown.
Wich color is good, for his body, when you use this amazing sheme on the wings?

Amazing work. I'd love to see how you tackle animals skin. (IE: Gryph-hounds, squigs)
Thank you! You can find examples of that on my Instagram or Twitter if you want to check it out! I’m @minipaintermeg on both 😁
Awesome
Thank you very much! 😁

heyy i know its a little bit late, but how do you think if i replace corvus black with abaddon black?
Did you thin the agrax earth shade down or straight from the bottle? Thanks
Yours looks beautiful! I tried it and it was a spotty mess 😅. I don't think I have that skill...
