why does this give me the impression that cleeter is making a team for the clutch kickers series thats happening at the freedom factory this year and this is your team ride? spoiler alert!!!
This will probably get lost in the comments, but just an FYI Taylor, those spacers on the alignment bolts are like that from the factory. They’re used to space the steel bolt from the magnesium cradle on the C6Z, because the dissimilar metals can have a reaction. They’re not absolutely needed, but they are recommended.

Very cool, it's the same reason to avoid aluminum and copper mixing in the presence of a common electrolyte. Another reason distilled water is important in some cooling systems.
@@KaoticFdr1 Distilled water is important in ALL cooling systems. Some of us live in areas with horrible tap water & the minerals lower the boiling point. Plus pretty much every car has some steel water fittings.
@@stevenmccauley254 the intent of my comment extends beyond most automotive cooling systems which is why I said, "most", but yes, you're correct in regards to liquid cooled automobiles.

Thank you! I’m so excited to really do it all the way the first time. I’ve learned so much from my miata and there’s still so much to be learned from this car. Just gotta get the dang thing done in time 😂 I just want to re do everything but that’s not helping the timeline. Lol

Judging by how much Cleeter beats the crap out of that kit with minimal problems, I would say it is a very good setup!!

Constructive Criticism: Hard to see the underbody shots without the extra light of being up on a lift. Just one of those camera mounted LED panels (with a diffusion layer) would be more than enough.
The video looks fine to me, nothing was hard to see. You might need to turn up the brightness on your monitor to solve the issue you are having!
Also having same issue brightness is up all the way on my sansung a12 🤷♂️
Man, this car is a testament to more money than sense. Glad you got your hands on it and can actually make it work right, but damn, do you have your work cut out for you, Taylor.
Nice to see you working on this now. About the anti roll bar, might be worth looking into adjustable blade antirollbars, as I guess you might need to tweak it in a hurry when klutch kickers gets going, if the car isn't handling the way you like.
A lot of series ban them, but it always says "in car adjustable blades" I wonder what would happen if you still had a remote lever that was like, in the trunk. 🤔
With the wilwoods and the washers and shit, you gotta be careful. Usually wilwood kits are designed to run a shim or two between the caliper and the knuckle. Obviously that may be changed with the new knuckles, especially bolt length. But double check that with the caliper bolted on (and nuts on the rotor) it's centered on the rotor. Some of the washers I see there are the wilwood cad plated shim washers.
This video brings back some of the good old vibes making videos at the apartment where you started building the Miata.

I’m rebuilding the front end of my Offroad rig. It’s funny to see how delicate your parts look.
Chris gerding yep after building rock crawlers and ultra 4 cars with massive beefy components its weird coming back to hot rods and race cars with tiny control arms and heim joints.
I will add, those are nice looking parts.
And those are pretty beefy parts
Just a fyi with some big brake kits they come with several thickness washers (shims) to make sure you have the caliper centered over the rotor. I know i have one or two shims on my wilwood kit on my s2000. Not saying that is 100% whats happening with your kit in particular but just tossing that out there to check and looking up the wilwood kit online it comes with varying shims fot just that reason.
I can’t wait to see this car. But the garage looks about perfect, once you get into the flow.
I love Corvettes, but I see so much complication I don’t want to deal with. But seems like a great platform tho

I believe that those Hiem joints for the upper control arm are being used incorrectly, ive always been told that in the horizonal position they shouldn't be used like that and should be used to its advantage spun 90 degrees to have full travel not the ability to bind on its self.
My favorite car. Not the zo6 but c2. Can't wait to see how far the Vette has come Technology at its best with the real parts it deserves.

Interesting to see you go with the nut on top. I always put the nut on bottom in case for whatever reason it backed off the bolt still has gravity to help hold it in place.

Hate buying other people's projects sometimes. My TA was that way, not a sensor hooked up and missing bolts & janky stuff all over the car. Keep scratching things off the list, need to get my winter list going myself.
Not sure if you might be interested in this knowledge or not, but the (older) bmw ran 5x120 and the 5-series (and up) had lower ET's as well.
I used to drive my E28 with old school Pontiac Firebird ET0 wheels. The American fitment converted to 5x120.6 or something like that, which made the fitment a piece of cake with some center rings to adapt the center bore.

With the angle bind at full lock and full droop. What’s your plan with that. Don’t want stuff binding full droop in drift. Maybe some limit straps?
It's my birthday just woke up because I got sick today but the front wheel hubs for the corvette look similar to my 2002 chevy silverado wheel hubs can you see if the corvette wheel hub fits on the silverado because I want to do a 5 lug conversion on my 2002 chevy silverado.

Glad you found that jacked up bolt on the steering shaft lower joint. That bolt, loose, falls out, or fails can kill you. Awesome to see you getting after the Corvette Taylor!

I work outside on a gravel driveway, don’t own where I live so I can’t build a shop. Might look into a set of those quick jacks
Talking about the AC in Florida. I’ve had my AC on here in north Ga for the last week and a half. Now winter shows up again this week.
Sick platform now with some bad ass correct suspension parts and your build skills… wonder why previous owner gave up on the project seems there was a bunch of 💰💰spend on that car specially on that drivetrain etc

If they do Chelsea D's idea at the FF will the entrance onto the track create the possibility of full droop mid-drift?
Flip the bolts on the upper control arm mounts.....if the nut ever backs itself out and falls off, the bolt will still be held in by gravity instead of falling out and causing more of an issue.....
A company called AMT motorsports makes a great kit that replaces the factory control arm eccentric adjusters with aluminum plates and new bolts. That way the adjustment cannot slip over time. If the original bolts are messed up thats a good enough reason for me to upgrade.
This is the most anticipated build I’m following. Such a sick platform. Can’t wait to the new shop either!

I don't know who need to hear this but if you leave in an areea that has winter or even if not if you ever work on suspension put copper grease on everything. Bolts, suspension adjusment threads, balljoints, lugnuts. Your future self will thank you

A set of Matco drillbits are amazing they are a little pricey but they have a lifetime warranty.
Have you ever considered getting a hardware supplier for the new shop then you could have a wall of button bolts of different sizes for whatever you need.
The next car you do an angle kit on maybe put some masking tape on the floor that lines up with the rim lock to lock
My 01 silverado work truck has more angle than my c6 stock by almost 10* lol...thats sad AF, glad to see you went with that same kit as cleetus seeing as he hasnt broke it yet

super excited to see this thing dialed in, both building a c6 at the same time. I remember you tried to tandem with me at TMS but i couldnt cause my 350z didnt have a cage, ill be ready next time lmao.
People say it's hard to get low offset wheels for the vette but they use the exact same bolt pattern as older muscle cars which regularly run zero offset and, thanks to the popularity of pro touring, there's a good number of low offset wheel options for those cars.

Think about ease of serviceability at the track and a full spares package, one for at the track work, stuff you know you can change there and another back at home for between events with the harder to do stuff.

you should buy the camber and caster lockouts from fdf, the stock eccentric bolts come loose as you probably know from your c5

You may have been outgunned but you out-drove the competition by a mile. You won one, if your car wouldn't have had troubles you would have won more. Also you were on the bad end of some really fucking bad judging more than a few times.
