I lived in the same neighbourhood as him and months before he was caught. Around 5 cats went missing with some being found poisoned or severely mutilated. This guy is fucked :(

I’m autistic and I have a special interest in gore type horror, but I would never ever go the length of hurting ANY living creature. It makes me feel horrible. I’ve gone to therapy because I was afraid of being a bad person because of my gruesome interests. There was a time in my life that I was worried I would somehow turn into a guy like Dollyflesh. But my therapist talked me through it. The main difference between being a good person and a bad person IS having those worries. It’s the self-awareness that thoughts are different from actions. You can have interests like this and still have empathy for real living creatures. DF did not have that empathy, and that’s purely his fault.

I, as an autistic person, feel like even if Leighton is autistic he almost definitely has experienced some type of s*xual trauma. I feel that his parents want so badly just to chalk it up to autism because may have been sa'd by a family member, possibly even a parent, and they don't want that information acknowledged. Severe k*nks and f*tishes like Leighton's often stem from trauma and his art and actions may be his (extremely unhealthy and dangerous) way of coping with that trauma.

I have high functioning autism. Never once have I thought about doing anything like this, beyond perhaps the random intrusive thoughts everyone experiences. His autism (that may or may not even exist) does not, in any way, shape, or form, excuse or explain his behaviour. It is both a failing of the justice system and of the education about autism that this monster is legally able to lead a normal life, with all the freedoms and rights given to stable, actually good human beings. Luckily, I can rest assured that he will never, ever, be able to get a job anywhere, because this issue is so publicated and relatively well known.

Yes about that last thing you brought up about authority not doing anything until it's too late. My uncle is an alcoholic and drug addict and the cops knows this. We've had to call the cops on him plenty of times due to his outbursts and verbal threats of harm to our family. We've even tried to force him into rehab. But the cops always tell us they can't really do anything until he actually does something. Meaning they are waiting until he actually physically harm one of us before the cops actually do their job. They are acting like Avengers and not like protectors

I’m autistic and I have a special interest in gore type horror, but I would never ever go the length of hurting ANY living creature. It makes me feel horrible. I’ve gone to therapy because I was afraid of being a bad person because of my gruesome interests. There was a time in my life that I was worried I would somehow turn into a guy like Dollyflesh. But my therapist talked me through it. The main difference between being a good person and a bad person IS having those worries. It’s the self-awareness that thoughts are different from actions. You can have interests like this and still have empathy for real living creatures. DF did not have that empathy, and that’s purely his fault.

I, as an autistic person, feel like even if Leighton is autistic he almost definitely has experienced some type of s*xual trauma. I feel that his parents want so badly just to chalk it up to autism because may have been sa'd by a family member, possibly even a parent, and they don't want that information acknowledged. Severe k*nks and f*tishes like Leighton's often stem from trauma and his art and actions may be his (extremely unhealthy and dangerous) way of coping with that trauma.

His autism (that may or may not even exist) does not, in any way, shape, or form, excuse or explain his behaviour. It is both a failing of the justice system and of the education about autism that this monster is legally able to lead a normal life, with all the freedoms and rights given to stable, actually good human beings.
Luckily, I can rest assured that he will never, ever, be able to get a job anywhere, because this issue is so publicated and relatively well known.

Yknow how we tend to want to separate art from the artist- as the art isn't a reflection of the intentions but rather the emotions? This is a disturbing break of that rule and I will never forget how horrific I felt the first time I heard about this guy. The justice system time and time again shows in history they do not care for the safety of the public. My uncle is an alcoholic and drug addict and the cops knows this. We've had to call the cops on him plenty of times due to his outbursts and verbal threats of harm to our family. We've even tried to force him into rehab. But the cops always tell us they can't really do anything until he actually does something.
Meaning they are waiting until he actually physically harm one of us before the cops actually do their job.

It's one of those cases where I don't know if the internet and social media was a bad or good aspect in the case. On the one hand, because he was posting the stuff online, his disturbing behavior got caught and reported. In the past, people who did things like that in early life would do it behind closed doors and eventually escalate to real life. On the the other hand, don't know if it's because of social media that he kept escalating his posts/fantasies. But one thing that is certain, he would have eventually escalated his behavior to a real life person. There's been so many instances where that has been the case.
