Correction for servitors: The wipe phase can start before the servitors die if you take too long. The way it’ll affect you is by preventing you from using the augmentation terminals just like the first encounter.
While that is true. Unless your intentionally waiting. You'll most likely kill the servitors and have everyone in position before the wipe mechanic even starts.
My two favorite raids are the ones with final bosses that are actually unique. Oryx and Riven are great and really are the standard for a Raid boss for me.
@Scrota, Sack of Oryx I mean kinda, during the campaign you know they go to “get the body ready”, but just imagine you kill Tan and his shank ass body flies into a pile and Eramis comes out and you have to finish her off. I think it would be kinda neat but I still think the raid is amazing either way.

In Final Stand, just have the scanner switch to a trace like divinity. And have them shoot in the general area of the final stand clone. 5 people across 3 clones is more than enough.
A third way to ensure that the Operator is in space is to have the first two players go to space and the third player (a nightstalker in our case) grabs the Operator from Downstairs when it becomes available as the bottom wave usually spawns first.
Yeah I'm confused why he's suggesting 4 need to go up if someone brings the operator with them. My team had someone pick it up after the first add wave and then all 3 rush to the elevators.
@@the-annoyinator no, he is correct. This weapon is literally designed for this encounter. Didn’t you see how much damage they did when they were only 3 and damaging the copy before it vanished? If we had this sword before the raid, they would not have struggled as much as they did in Day 1
On day 1 my team and I thought we were missing a mechanic to do damage because we though we could do limited damage when we stunned him. We didn’t know that all 3 of us had to burst him. We spent like 2 hours searching for a mechanic. We even having someone holding a replication and kicking another replication into an airlock, waiting for him to spawn, then closing the door and launching an actual Atraks out instead of just the orb.

Alternate strategy for getting operator to space: all 6 people stay at the base until operator shows up, one of the space team people picks it up, then all three space team people head to space. There’s more than enough time to kill the servitors up in space so there’s little to no risk.

This night was a good night in gaming for me . Snowstorm, evening , on coms gaming doing d2 raids . This is what I call a Good Friday evening . Raid took a few hours . We wiped many times , can’t lie . I messed up twice or 3 myself .
my group assumed airlocks had a single use (also lacked lament on day 1) so we would group all four at the top then dump the debuffs all at the same time. made being an operator a little hectic shooting all four buffs to keep them refreshed but it DID spawn plenty of ammo for us up top
People now with Lament and no contest mode are gonna think this encounter was easy. Nah man, day one this was impossible. Took many teams hours upon hours and caused many to quit.
yesterday I got my Lament, I love it and today, after reset, I got a god roll Falling Guillotine from a prime engram I got before the reset, I love it too.. good times..
To keep the balance, my team did this method: up until operator spawned we did the same as you, but as soon as it spawned, the person responsible with it replaces someone in space leaving in space and 3 on base
Our team did this day1 by keeping everyone downstairs until operator spawns. 2 people on Space team go up while the 3rd grabs Operator buff, waits, resets the elevators THEN goes up. This leave 3 elevators downstairs, Operator never has to be swapped, and everyone can get upstairs at any time. We would also save the downstairs Redside Servitor until Space team was ready [or the damage wipe just starts anyways due to time]
One way my team did it was that the scanner just rides up and down the elevators constantly, it takes about the same amount of time as transferring the buff and it's really easy for them to spot atrax on the bottom the second they get out.
my team spent 12 hours and 18 minutes on this encounter day 1 without looking up any spoilers, streams, or hints. very very very very very very tough experience, but so satisfying to finally get. didn't manage to get the day 1 just because of the fatigue level of our team (made it to dps on final boss but couldn't finish), but a good experience nontheless.
Appreciate the effort that went into this. If I may offer some constructive feedback as a "never raided before" player... it can be quite overwhelming to take in all the information from those very word heavy sentences. I found the role example clips at the end to be the most beneficial - because they were in realtime. You could digest things a bit easier. When there are lots of edits back and forth between clips couple with the voice over and text on screen in can be hard to follow. How about commentating over the realtime clips at the end with pauses at key moments when the events you describe in the well written voice over take place? So we can relate the words to the actual clip on screen as it happens? I appreciate that might not make for the most efficient video and maybe that is not what you are aiming for with your channel ? Just thought I'd share how I found it from a long term Destiny player who has never raided since Crota! I'm sure there are probably other channels with more "dummy" level guides out there that may be better suited for the pace I am looking for so please don't take any offence - none was intended. 5:58 There is a third approach that my team used. As operator buff always spawns first, at the beginning of the encounter we would send only 2 players to the space, and later the third one picks up the operator buff in base and then joins the space team immediately. This way we don't bother with terminals and don't end up with 4 people in base during first phase, and the two in space should be fine for first few moments as there are no real threats prior servitors.
