    I’ve tried quite a few Trident tackle products. Great fan of the Terma link, hangover clip and their carbon fibre baiting needles. However not such a great fan of the Aero Rota clip as I find them rather fiddly and not a patch on the Gemini splash down. I’ve ordered some of the Dynaform and am looking forward to trying them as they look a great improvement over the Aero pulley.

      Its fab to have others opinions
      If we all liked the same things it would be rather boring

    When your making pulley rigs is it not best to match the strength on snoods to mainline due to both taking the force of the cast?

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Ant thanks for taking time to comment.
      Im far from an expert but from what i am lead to believe is that the main rig body takes the most pressure during the cast as it has a direct line to the lead.
      I personally use 80lb rig body as i find this is way more than enough for the 6oz leads i cast
      For hook snoods i use 30lb on my pulley rigs and 25lb usually on my flappers
      The reason i use lighter snood lines personally is that if i get a snag usually i can take the pressure by wrapping the line over my arm and steady pulling for a break or a hook bend.
      In the smaller flapper rigs where small hooks are used i can usually pull for a hook bend or snap the line leaving minimal tackle in the sea
      Hope this helps and cheers for watching :)

      Hi Cheers for taking time to comment.
      I will openly admit im not a fan of the gemini system time and time again it has ejected leads for both myself and other anglers i know.
      I have used the roto since its release and am confident in the system
      Vary rarley i have had it not eject my hook the only times it didnt were on wider gape 7/0 hooks which i found later were too big for the roto
      Since then the trident kicker has been released to accomate the bigger hooks which is again another ace product.
      The reason i like trident parts so much is because of its unique lead locking system meaning once u lock the lead in place with your clip it will never unlock the only way u will loose the lead is if u loose your whole rig.
      But everyone is different and what works for some may not be others personal choice
      But trident is 100 percent my firm favourite

      @@TheEastbourneFisherman Just to update this convo, bought a range of trident components , great for rig building 👍.
      On the beach, excellent for quick assembly but my only problem was trying to get the hook to lock into the rota with wet hands & wet bait.

    • @George_Vargiamides
      @George_Vargiamides Рік тому +1

      As long as you don't use pyramid shaped leads, the roto will release every single time.
      Roto depends on water resistance to turn the lock and then to release the hook. The pyramid shaped leads don't let the water to have direct contact to the roto when it splashes down in the water.
      I use roto since they release in the market and never ever had a released problem. Only with pyramid leads.

    Sorry but I don’t get it. More plastic in the sea and do you think the fish give two hoots? I agree with earlier poster that it sounds more like the latest wheeze to catch anglers rather than fish.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts
      For me personally the cost of these parts were much cheaper than alternate like for like parts available. Much stronger in materials used to make and did the job better than any other items I have tried so far.
      Again its all down to personal preferences to which tackle is used and I completely agree some bits look to catch anglers than fish.
      However I think that the trident parts are much stronger and cheaper than alternate offers in the current market

    Saw another youtube video where the setup was different, the line comes in through the bottom around the metal pin area and back out through the bottom on the other side, not sure your setup is correct. Additionally why would you need to put on a terma ling when you can tie directly to the rota clip?

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Martin thanks for commenting
      These dynaform are brand new items from trident
      I think you may be refering to the aero pulley where as you said that has to be rigged as a figure of 8 going in through the bottom and up over the top and back down however this is not that item.
      The use of the terma links in this rig is needed due to the fact you can not tie directly onto the roto as you need to fully depress the top of the roto to get the lead on
      Hope this helps
      Thanks for watching :)

  • @CodWalloper
    @CodWalloper 9 місяців тому +1

    Your using the dynaform incorrectly, you need to figure 8 the line as its passed through the dynaform pulley link!...

      There are 2 types of pulley from trident
      The aero pulley which as you said you figure of 8 it
      This is the dynaform which is a free running pulley meaning you just feed the line through as normal

    • @CodWalloper
      @CodWalloper 9 місяців тому

      My apologies I understood that the whole selling point of the trident pully system was the figure 8 knot stopping the weight dropping into snags when a fish gives slack on the snood.

    You can do this (turn a pulley into a runner) with a 'normal' pulley rig without any of the expenditure or the bulkiness of the green plastic bits. I can't really see what's innovative about it. I think some of these items are desogned to catch a fish chaser rather than an angler.

      Hi Dan cheers for commenting
      Which items would you use to make your pulley / running rig? In place of the dynaform itself?
      Im not too sure on the expendature as these items are much cheaper than current like for like items currently available.

      @@TheEastbourneFisherman I'd just go simple with a gemini quick link, as I use a swivel on the end of my shockleader (age old argument of some use a link some use a swivel on for connecting from shockleader to rig, I still think of fishing near line snags a swivel is, the way to go as there, isn't a link open to snags).
      Then to turn it into a runner, do exactly what you do, lead clips on the quick link.

      @@dancrayford8725 Dan, running line directly over bare metal and have no break strength loss is only gonna work when you use heavy diameter metal, and I mean diameter. Using a power swivel as pulley is stupid. . (Hey... a power swivel is strong... but yes, it has finer wire for same pull, and a knife needs finer edge to cut more easy. A pulley needs more body and litlle friction, so Trident have listened to users, to laws of engineering, and actually produce two pulley by now. )
      Trident do offer two pulley, and the recent one is for folks using small weights.

      Hi Mike thanks for commenting
      Tbh I only ever use 20lb snoods or if I'm specifically fishing for a bigger fish I will up to 40lb then for conger use a wire trace
      I guess it depends on the indervidual and there casting style
      I typically just do overhead casts and it works alright for me
