- I've made it clear that I don't like the FlySky G4P. I don't like the Reedy SC480X. But the Reedy 16T 5-slot 540 is the worst of the bunch by a long shot. The 550 isn't great, but it's also not awful. Nothing can redeem this motor. It's just bad. This, and other observations, coming up!

Must leave a concern/question. I thought I heard you say that the Pinseekers were the best OE tire out there! I'm shocked to hear that since I thought the Canyon Trails were king of the RTR tires! In my world the Canyon Trails rock!!😀 Good to see the Enduro SE getting more camera time!
I did say "without modification." That's an important distinction. Out of the box, the Pinseekers are borderline impressive. Before a wheel change, foam change, and cut 'n sipe, Canyon Trails are a solid basher tire, but aren't exactly blasting up the rocks. It's in their name: Trails.
I do still contend that for the money (a set of Sport takeoffs is still under 20 bucks) the Canyon Trail-- after some work-- is unbeatable. There should be a spec division where the mandated tire is Canyon Trails. I should really get around to doing that series. Like, really.

It can be done (somewhat) economically, but I would never claim that it's cheap, at least in 10th scale. It's tough to get on the rocks for less than $400, really. Well, with something upgradable, reliable, and durable, that is. I'll take this moment to say: never buy a Redcat. It's a false economy. IMO, the best "I only have one crawler" option is the TRX-4 Sport kit, and Amazon-sourced electronics (Radiolink RC4GS, HW1080WP, cheap motor, red/blue case servo. Right around that 400 mark, but absolutely durable, wildly upgradable, and a really strong performer right out of the box.
Much as I love the SE (and think it looks MUCH better than the TRX-4 Sport) the upgrade path is longer and will inevitably be more expensive. Less aftermarket options as well-- that is, less dirt cheap Amazon/Aliexpress options.

I've got the 13t 550; on 3s, my rig'll do around 9mph, and still has great low-end and decent drag brake.
The 5-slots are a bit like crawling with a torque converter. I turn my exponential down,
which provides enough throttle finesse for some wonderful control. :]
I'll be interested to see how the 3-slots work on the same setup; I might have to go for a Trailmaster, after all.
I feel a little foolish for pushing for this motor, since I knew his was a 540, and what I have is a 550 on portals :( But, in that config it's great!
It's raining plenty here too. Almost 2 weeks and more days to come of daily rain, just a little or a whole lot.
We've gotten almost half the rain we got for all of 2022, and it's January 5th. But 2022 was DRY.
Can you try a 80T motor on that 45T gear

The Reedy Crawler motors are the worst things Element (or Associated) sell by an extremely wide margin. It would honestly be better if the trucks just came with no motor at all.
I hope Element offers a Stealth XF kit.
They'd better. Not having taken it apart yet, I like it more than the regular Stealth. But at the same time, there are A LOT of bolts holding it together.
I'm kinda putting off taking it apart until I can figure out where to buy the OD gears. Amain appears to have only replacement gears.
edit: you have to buy the entire bottom end from a Stealth X-- it's basically everything except the topshaft and the case/plate. So I've put a Stealth in my Wish List on Amain to save for later. Cheaper by a good bit to buy a whole gearbox than the individual parts.
@@CrawlerCanyon I just added the Team K&K U.D. gears to my Stealth X with the 11+% fron O.D., also had to add the reverse top-shaft to run the tranny backwards to keep the tiny outrunner more forward

@@FaithSaraG yeah. It’s literally all the gears, the two lower diff halves, and the mid shaft. Definitely cheaper to just buy a whole Stealth X. So at some point I’ll have an XF with X internals, and an X with the bottom shaft from the XF.
I fed my senduro to my drozod black bird hehe I'm way happier now. Any body else have a nite mare of time with swapping bearing in the diff. I shimmed and shimmed on top of pinion an rings swap nothing worked so I fed my senduro to my black bird I'm very pleased now
My Enduro SE, the one in this video, probably has more hours on it than of the rest of the fleet combined. 300+ hours. I will be the first to tell you that the pinion gears are too small, so shimming the ring and pinion to mesh smoothly is annoying. But the platform itself is excellent.
I feel like trail guys like 5slot for the punch and wheel speed. As we're slow crawlers like myself we prefer the torque with decent ish wheel speed. I prefer 3slot over 5slot any day more ungodly slow wheel speed control with no sacrifice to torque when gripped up instead of trigger modulation just to get up a small rock you can pay more attention to tire placement and diff clearance.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't crazy about 5-slot.

You do know that the team brood rebuildable is the exact same motor as the reedy rebuildable right?
As I don't have a Reedy rebuildable (unless you count a Firehawk) I would say no. I don't buy Reedy because they're overpriced, and I know for 100% sure that they're not the OE. No reason to pay a couple more bucks just for the Reedy name.
I never said all Reedy is bad. Just that the 540 16T 5-slot is inexcusably terrible.
@@CrawlerCanyon oh I understand completely lol. The reedy sealed is still, in my opinion, one of the better RTR motors out of axial, Traxxas, element and redcat. For my use anyways. But I discovered last year, off a hunch, the Team brood, surpass hobby and Reedy rebuildable motors were literally identical. We took them apart and down to the T they were identical. So, instead of spending $50 for the reedy rebuildable, I started buying the surpass hobby rebuildable for $20 lol
I laugh every time I hear the clock in the background, particularly because it’s not the top of any hour…
It finally did shift a little. It was 7 minutes after the hour for nearly a decade, and it's now 8 minutes after the hour. I have no idea how to change it.
Immediately adjacent to the foam cuckoo clock is one of those massive school clocks-- like 24" across. It's been dead on 3:45 for at least 5 years. I have a unique relationship with clocks.
now i wanna know how fast it would be on a 45t pinion....
I thinking it would trend toward what I call "grenade fast." Nothing in that rig is built to handle that kind of speed, so I reckon it would go really fast, then ummm... "come apart."
Or go 4s on the crawler reedy 16t motor
Sad thing is I will forget all the usefull info in your videos, before(/if) I even get a crawler.
