- All the sound of a full jazz outfit in one case. Sizes are 8x10, 12x14, 14x18 and 6.5x14. Reenforcement hoops support the shell segments while the clamps twist lock them together. Also available in 12, 16, 20 and 13, 16, 22.
One of my favorite features of these kits are the foam pads that have a design that suspends the smaller drum from hitting the inside or heads of the larger drum. As someone who's used this kinda kit for years, I learned pretty quick that in a dark club, it can be hard to tell how things go back together. That's why you'll see two black lugs on each opening drum, around on the side that doesn't face the crowd. This trick makes the kit way faster to set up. That's the difference you find in a builder who's also a player. Design for real life.
This is an awesome idea imo and i might just go for one. Do you remember what's the height of the foam inside? also, what type of foam is that, seems durable xD great idea!
Fabulous design! Well done Kirsch! This is awesome
Thanks!
i would really love to hear how this bop kit sounds like! im way to interested in this now
Man, really, really nice. Very thoughtful design, indeed. I'll look you up online.
you are a genius, sir.
Yea those drums sound great.
Man you are the truth. I need a snare made by you
I really like this! If I already have a similar size 6 ply bop kit, would you be able to mod the shells to pack like this?
Gotta love a nesting kit. Finally the drummer doesn't have to take 300 trips to the car to the stage.
AWESOME!
Wow never seen this before and I am interested in it
This is really cool. It's sounds good...??? And what would be the price.
Ficou massa a compactação gostei da hora .
How does it sound, though?
fascinante
what's the final weight of all the drums together? Then also with the hardware and cymbals? Thanks.
What sourcery is this?!?!?! I ran into this video looking at the flat travel kits, but this is just on a whole different level!...And apparently I’m about five years late to the party smh
Sounds awesome....great for the neighbours ?
What kind of metal closure do you use to join both parts of the toms Shell?? Nice idea!
Thanks! They're a product I invented. Tried at least a dozen clamps over many years and they all failed or rattled eventually. They'll soon be available for collapsible kit builders to use. They're an indestructible alternative to all the clamps that really aren't designed for the stress and vibration. Thanks for checking it out!
Cymbal bag used as a snare bag? Now I've seen everything.
haber si subes un video de como suena la bateria saludos
nice but the bag looks like a 22inch bag for an 18 kick.If you remove the riser and the legs of the kick ,which have togo into the hardware bag anyway,it could fit into a much smaller 18inch bag.
Yeah, you're right. It does fit in a smaller bag. I made this video with what I had around at the time. This kits owner thought having the extra padding inside was worth the extra few inches of space taken up. Since the kit was being checked on a plane, he knew it would get thrown around.
Awesome!! Where can I purchase the exact set up, case and all?
I've got three available. Check out kirschdrums.com or you can email or call from the site.
Could imagine this being quite heavy once all packed into one bag
41 pounds. Not bad. Checkable on a plane
My teacher did "the same thing" with a Gretsch custom by removing the heads. Not the faster way to mount and dismount, and very very heavy. But he took the tube !
I would be curious to ear the difference between a whole tom and these shells cut in half.
This is very clever, but what is the purpose ? Take a cab, a bike ? Cause you save a lot of space but you also need cymbals, stands, seat and carpet.
call a back surgeon dragging that case into a gig
A 4 piece kit and case is under 45 pounds. I've seen bass drums alone that weigh that much. We also have a wheeled case version.
How does that affect the sound?
So... what are you supposed to do with that extra cushion at the end?
Mi piace cuesta idea, come posso avere anche io.
Where can I buy one of these?
Getting back to you three years later :) Check out kirschdrums.com
This kit weighs about 45 pounds (20 Kg) fully packed and can be checked on a plane.
How much does this cost ?
Depending on features, they start around $1400
