With the fact that he always comes off so happy to be performing, and the way he sometimes brings fans onstage to sing/perform along with the rest of the band AND gushes over them when they're actually great, is amazing. Foo Fighters in general, and Dave Grohl specifically, are absolute legends in my book. Plus, they fucking rock.
Dave wrote this song from a bad mental state. He was lonely and depressed, and came up with these chords and lyrics. And if you think of it, this turned from a song that came from a dark place, to a song that’s played to get out of that dark place. Now, he’s performing of upward to 300,000 people, and for millions of people, it is their happiness anthem. Crazy, went from a small band to playing stadiums.
actually...he wrote this song about his ex girlfriend...Louise Post of Veruca Salt...and it's about falling in love and it being so absolutely amazing that you can barely articulate it...according to Dave...
Absolutely outrageous statement, Foo fighters don't compare to any any of the good metal bands or best rock bands! Imagine saying Foo fighters are better than iron maiden or metallica ahaha
Felt literal chills at the end when they all ran to the front of the stage. An absolutely legendary band throwing down an absolutely legendary performance. I sincerely hope the horrifically untimely passing of Taylor doesn't spell the end of the Foos, but if it does they have thoroughly earned their position amongst the greats of rock and roll. Rest easy Taylor
I went to this presentation. a lot of lads 'n lasses who were very kind on letting a foreigner who travelled a few thousand miles to be at Glasto, to be with them... we were jamming all night to the Foos, and then, there was a couple right next to our group. At the time the Foos started to play 'Everlong' i rememeber the lad just stood on his knees and proposed his girlfriend to marry. A Glasto moment I will cherish forever in my heart
this hits harder now that taylor died on the country where I'm from, hours before their headline show on a festival that goes every year here. I hope Taylor is resting easy knowing the massive inspiration as a person he's been to a whole generation 😭
@@jaupolio Yeah, but if you go back to 1997, Taylor had learned to lead the drums in front of thousands of people in about a week, on a lot of really complex songs (drum wise). Of course it's like second nature to him now. But this stuff isn't easy. And he always nails it perfectly.
I was there that night. It was the biggest crowd I’ve ever experienced. Hundreds of thousands. Sleep well Taylor Hawkins and thank you for all the great memories.
I watch the Foo Fighters Glastonbury show often. I believe it to be how a rock show should be done. It’s just brilliant. I watch today with extreme sadness having learned that Taylor Hawkins has passed away. He played with enthusiastic energy giving each performance everything. It is such a tragic fact that today he went to his rest. A truly exceptional artist and good to his fans. Fame never got in the way of that . Of more importance he was a husband and father. Just 50 years old and gone. Christ almighty. ! He leaves us with a great legacy of music to remember him by. This is my favourite.
I've never been so terribly sad for the pass away of a musician like I am today for Hawkins... Come here today and listen to this song is so bittersweet... Thank you for your music Hawkins Goodbye, and Farewell Foo Fighters.
I still get goose bumps when I think of this set, its now a bitter sweet memory. so glad I got to be there and witness such a set. After they left the stage we all stood there for ten minutes echoing everlong! would love it if anyone had footage of it.hope you are at peace Taylor.
I was lying in bed getting over a self inflicted illness and the 2017 Glastonbury Foo Fighters concert was amazing that it brought me from an all time low to feeling good about myself and the fucking cruel world we live in. Best Band in the world since the 1990s, to me the rest are British but I am naturally biased.

Everlong; it’s one of those songs! One of those songs which, regardless of which genre it becomes, it appeals to the greatest. It’s a classic! A classic because of Taylor’s Drumming. He was the hero. There goes my hero ❤️
Learnt this song in three weeks with a band i sang with 20 years ago . Played it at the Yarty party in devon this year : ) : ) we rocked it : ) : ) bloody good song
First time i caught the Foo's was at the Phoenix Festival 1996 just a year after their debut album was released. Just got better and better with age and not many acts around that can beat them live. #BanthebloodyFlags
In my lifetime, Freddie Mercury, Randy Rhoads, David Bowie, George Michael and Taylor Hawkins guys for me that are such a loss to the world. Great musicians RIP guys
Why can’t I get the 2017 live Glastonbury Foo Fighters on You tube. Maybe I got the year wrong because I thought I was 47 last October but I was 46. Gained a year. Always a bonus yeah. This Group has kept me alive and took me out of a dark place and back into the real world. Better late than never 👍
I remember seeing this played in Manchester. Helicopter supported. Maybe 2000 people give or take. I don't know but I wish they still played it like it was a new song. I still love it but I loved it then and I wish I could hear the early live version. This is as close as it gets I guess.
Such fond memories of being there that night, and specifically thinking how difficult this song looks to play on drums. Rest in peace, Taylor
🥲legendary
My favourite song purely for Taylor's drumming. So sad man.
Been a fan of foo’s for years and years. Got a ticket to see them in London in June. So gutted. Rip Taylor x
@@simoncrowther9415 Everlong was played by Dave Grohl ;)

Dave Grohl always seems so happy to be performing, it's really refreshing to see a famous artist genuinely enjoying himself on stage

Yes yes yes

Dave has written some of the most iconic riffs and drum fills and beats. He's incredible.

If that is the complete list it's not that dramatic huh
Best band in the world. Full stop. Seen them on every tour since late 90's.
Dave Grohl knows how to command an audience. You don’t see that very often these days.
The guy could command an army no problem

Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight
I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head she sang
Come down
And waste away with me
Down with me
Slow how
You wanted it to be
I'm over my head
Out of her head she sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when she sang
Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head
Out of my head I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when she sang
And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
I dont think I've ever seen anyone attack a drum kit, in a completely controlled way, the way Taylor does. Ever.
