Hey what’s up everyone, it’s Derek from Nerd or Die, and you’re looking at Uplink - our latest stream pack which features alerts and events lists, with overlays and more coming soon. The alerts feature 3D effects, full customization on colors and fonts, custom sounds synced to each of the 7 individual alerts, and the ability to change languages as needed. The event list let’s you change colors, fonts, and opacities to help you fit this widget to your stream’s design. Uplink is available now in the Nerd or Die shop, the event list and alerts work with Streamlabs and support Twitch, UA-cam, and Mixer.
In this video we’ll take a look at setting everything up and take a look at all the options included. Please use the timestamps in the video description to jump around the video. One thing I want to quickly mention is that if you’re using a lower end CPU, you may want to consider disabling the 3D effect, as this does tend to use more CPU. Luckily, it’s very easy to do so.
Anyways, let’s get right into it.
Let’s start with setting up the alerts. This can be done very quickly with our Streamlabs quick setup link.
Once you’ve downloaded and unzipped the files, open up the alert folder. You’ll see a few folders and links. You can use the READ ME link to get written instructions on this pack, or the support link if you have any support requests. We've included a folder with the sound files as well - please note that these sound files are named based on the Twitch versions of each alert. Let’s open up the Streamlabs - Alerts folder to get started with the installation.
Click the Alerts Quick Setup link to begin installing these alerts.
If you’d like, choose “Create Widget Theme” and name it something appropriate such as “Uplink Alerts”. The import link will only override your alert package. This means you combine these alerts with any other scene collection you’ve made in Streamlabs. If you want to save your old alerts, it’s highly recommended to do this in a new profile.
Select “Use” for the profile you want to import into.
Navigate to “Alert Box” and copy your unique URL.
Paste this URL as a “Browser Source” in your streaming software. We recommend setting the size to at least 800 wide and 800 tall (more height is recommended if using messages). If you need to scale down, you can do so directly inside of OBS Studio.
Once you’ve added this into your streaming software test the alerts to make sure they’re working properly.
If things aren’t working properly, there’s a chance that your streaming software isn’t up to date. Streamlabs OBS has an auto-updater that should work fine, but if you’re using a certain version of OBS Studio, you may need to re-download and reinstall. On their website, OBSProject.com, you can see that they mention this issue at the top of their homepage. Make sure you’re on version 21.1.2 or higher, or else look at re-downloading.
Also, I want to point out that if you run tests too quickly, it may interfere with the appearance of the alerts. This is only an issue when testing the alerts, as the live versions don’t override one another.
I think i am missing something.... i purchased the pack.... following the tutorial yet i am confused since i cant seem to find the Alerts anywhere, i am clicking the link which takes me to where i am suppose to go and the tutorial is showing me that the Alerts should be already on my stream OBS website...

I bought this pack. The alerts are sooo very loud on my stream. I've tried to turn them down on the Alert Box on Streamlabs and on the specific Alert widget on myt dashboard. Neither work to turn down the volume... Why is this?

Drayx I figured it out. When you go on your baseboard, for each alert type, you have to go down below the setting to the written code, select the “custom field” option above the code, like is shown in the video. Then, from the custom field options, turn the volume down of the alert sound about 4x for each type of alert. Ge dashboard lags like crazy so you have to turn the volume down and save it mutiple times before it actually saves at a lower volume

Hey i have a problem, after import Alert + Event list in Obs Streamlabs, its working but if i close OBS and open again they disapear...

Is there any way to lower the custom sounds that come we the package because they are pretty loud and the sound slide bar does nothing for it
voltackle9000 yes, you can find the option in the custom fields tab.
I have the opposite issue. Have the slider cranked up but can barely hear alerts.

How can you do so follow alert is on the left side and donation is on the right side?
To do a custom change like this, you'd need a bit of CSS knowledge. You would have to remove the transform: translate(-50%) for both alerts in the CSS, this would be in the #alertHolder CSS block. Then, for the follower alert you'd need to change left: 50% to left: 0 and for the donation you'd need to change left: 50% to right: 0
