I wanna thank Ken & Roberta Williams for sponsoring this Japan trip. It would not have happened without their support! Play the new Colossal Cave v2.0 on Steam: bit.ly/3PSzc3M
Thank you Ken and Roberta! Just played Phantasmagoria for the first time from GOG! A really awesome game! I am finding the puzzles difficult, but that is because I am as dumb as a rock. Luckily there are some awesome walk through's online. I did play Phantasmagoria 2, but 1 is so much better. Glad you had fun in Japan Jason! It was great to catch up with Kinzilla again!
If I had a friend like Kinsey living and working in Japan, I would study the language and visit every other year. Metal jesus is so lucky to have the friends that he does. These are awesome to watch because they are so well put together!
I got the cost of the Super Nintendo World bracelets wrong. I guess they were about $20 USD (w/ the exchange rate) and not $4...but in my defense, the Yen to USD confused me the whole trip! 😂
Also 549,000 yen would be about $3,500. Lol. I'm hoping the Adventure of Little Ralph game you got was 54,900 yen instead making it the $300 you posted 😁
The 'fitness tracker' is actually just a fun way for the parks to maximize occupancy and guest comfort. If the sensors measure crowding in 'X' location they can send out characters / events to draw some guests away from that location to a less busy area. Pretty clever and something Disney uses with their MagicBands.
I want a travelog series with you just traveling, experiencing the culture, eating their traditional cuisine, mingling with the locals and visiting the sights. You're a born presenter. Even something as unlikely as "Metal Jesus explores the Sahara" or something would be wonderful lol.
Loved that shogun era castle. Too bad lines were too long to see it. You could see how it was perfectly located for (most likely) defensive purposes in case of attack. 👍👍
Great content as always, the Mario ride is crazy cool. I will be looking forward to your next pick 'em ups video with Reggie as you are my go-to source for retro and new video games.
I have a connection that lives in Osaka. The amount of stuff he is able to get for me that is new old stock from the 80s is mind-blowing. I think my Hello Kitty Dreamcasts are my favorite items from Osaka.
Nice, saving this for "boys night" tonight. Me and my sons play games all night on Friday and Saturday nights. Next spring were heading to Japan to see this.
I have serious difficulties following videos longer more the five minutes, but I can watch your reports and reviews forever. Your voice is so relaxing and you are a so positive guy. Thanks. :)
I've been to that store in the Kobe shopping mall several times, both when I used to work in that city 20 years ago as well as during one of my most recent visits. I'm happy to see they are still around! @MetalJesus Last time I was over there in fact you were also visiting Japan and I was actually watching your videos during my trip. Still can't believe we just missed each other by day or two.
Looks like you had an awesome time. I really can't wait to visit Japan with my best friend sometime in the near future. We will defo go when it's abit colder though. Being a ginger, me and the sun/heat do not mix well! Looking forward to your next video.
If kinsey is ever looking for a side hustle, she should be a guide/translator for tourists. Me and my wife need someone like her to show us all the dope game spots and bars.
When I went to Osaka this year the best retro game find was in an adult shop! It was the 5 story one in Den Den Town, and the ground floor is disguised as a retro game shop. I was able to find a complete AV Famicom in good condition with two controllers for roughly $70 USD!
There are a plethora of video game hunting videos in Japan on UA-cam, but your content stands out like a sushi chef at a barbecue. Watching your videos, I swear I can almost smell the digital cherry blossoms and feel the pixels rustling in the virtual breeze, as if I'm right there beside you, controller in hand, ready to bag some pixelated game trophies!
I really hope that they expand Super Nintendo World to include more franchises. When I heard they were making a theme park with that title, I thought it would have a bigger variety of series represented and not just a Mario themed park.
The donkey Kong area is opening next year and it’s gonna be opening with the Orlando version of SNW in the Epic Universe park in 2025. There’s also been rumors for years about Orlando getting other Nintendo franchises in the other parks.
was waiting for second part now it's here thanks for continuing to make great content buddy best gaming channel on youtube found myself likeing game hunting and game pickups videos are allways entertaining 🔥
The castle of Hideyoshi who appears in a bunch of video games including Onimusha and Samurai Warriors. The castle was also featured in Yakuza Kiwami 2. 21:50
September was definitely hotter in Osaka than it should have been. It really only started getting cooler this week. I have lived in Osaka since 2019 and this summer was just much too long. Love your channel Metal Jesus and hope I can show you around next time you are in Osaka. I'll show you the great game store, 'Super Potato'.
For a good documentary about a ramen seller I would recommend COME BACK ANYTIME about a particular shop in Tokyo with an elderly owner (he has since retired) and his customers they follow over the year. It was a community place and some of the customers hung out there and were allowed to come in and cry.
My wife and I visited Japan just a week or so after you guys did. We did some similar activities so it's nice enjoying them again vicariously. And no shame in getting Mexican food there - it's so much fun seeing Japan's local take on foreign foods!
That Mexican restaurant you visited after Taco Bell took me back. Went to that place a few times when I was living in Japan just to get even a little taste of Mexican food. Been fun watching your adventures!
The Nintendo store in New York is incredible. I'm from the UK, so I've only visited the New York store once on a visit to America in 2017 for my birthday. I'd love to visit the Osaka Nintendo store one day.
I've been to both Nintendo NYC and Nintendo Shibuya (almost identical to Nintendo Osaka) and both have their charms. Shibuya has more floor space (so lots more merch) but the NYC store had some memorabilia like every issue of Nintendo Power and even the OG Gameboy that survived Operation Desert Storm.
Been there done that. I'm pretty sure that first Osaka store is Super Potato Osaka. I was in there August time wish I went now though it was super hot at 100f. Adventures of Ralph was on my wanted list, you got a good deal.
this is still one of the original best channels. It didn't turn into some swap meet, eBay price guide Resell channel. It's an actual video game channel with video game content
looked like a freakin' blast! Interesting to see their take on taco bell and mexican food, would definitely be interesting to try! (and I get missing the other food if you're living in Japan, sure.) and of course the obligatory game hunting seemed like some cool pickups. looking forward to part 3!!

How come Tony never talks on video ?
@kuarentakilla863 Yes, but he and Rebecca do work hard. And the Williams' couple are his old bosses and friends.
Their PC games in the 80s jump started my love for games. Have so much respect for them both ❤️
23 mins is not long enough for all this amazing stuff!!
Right!?
yeah these videos go so fast for me haha
2300 would be about right
What about 23 minutes and 42 seconds?
There are channels recording videos in JAPAN all the time... Just saying ;) *hint* *hint*!
If I had a friend like Kinsey living and working in Japan, I would study the language and visit every other year. Metal jesus is so lucky to have the friends that he does. These are awesome to watch because they are so well put together!

we are making out like bandits right now with the 150 yen to the dollar!
Suragaya! Just finished ordering from them! Surprised by the turn around time, faster than playasia (1 week from Japan to my hands).
I thought so. The bracelets are essentially an Amiibo that you wear. It even registers as an Amiibo on 3DS/WiiU/Switch.
It is 20 not 4, you are right.
Also 549,000 yen would be about $3,500. Lol. I'm hoping the Adventure of Little Ralph game you got was 54,900 yen instead making it the $300 you posted 😁

@MetalJesusRocks please do! I love your pick up videos with Regie as well as your buying guides but your travel videos are some of your best content.
I want to go to Japan after watching these videos
You should come here before all the games are gone :D
Loved that shogun era castle. Too bad lines were too long to see it. You could see how it was perfectly located for (most likely) defensive purposes in case of attack. 👍👍

Reggie and I are already talking about the next pickup videos. Probably in November 👍

Fun fact: The Sotonbori area from Yakuza/Like a Dragon is based on Dotonbori.
AND the Yokohama area too, right?
@@MetalJesusRocks Yes, the main city in Yakuza 7 (Like a Dragon), Ijincho, is based on Yokohama.
After I visited Japan I kept noticing alot of easter eggs in the Yakuza games such as donki hote
I have a connection that lives in Osaka. The amount of stuff he is able to get for me that is new old stock from the 80s is mind-blowing. I think my Hello Kitty Dreamcasts are my favorite items from Osaka.
Dude, you're an awesome documentarian! Love these travel videos. Thanks MJR!

Nice, saving this for "boys night" tonight. Me and my sons play games all night on Friday and Saturday nights. Next spring were heading to Japan to see this.
MJR hitting his stride with these types of video's....traveling, exploring with video games sprinkled in. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed!

Looks fun! Your part of the reason I got into collecting games and older tech
It rains like this in the southeast. Really hard for like 30 mins, then back to sunny. Lol

Metal Jesus is just so genuine. He doesn't try to be anybody else.
Both videos are awesome and shoutout to Kinsey showing the locations. Seeing the game stores are amazing. Looking forward to the trip to Tokyo.
I really hope that they expand Super Nintendo World to include more franchises. When I heard they were making a theme park with that title, I thought it would have a bigger variety of series represented and not just a Mario themed park.

I wish we had more stores like this in the US.
Come to the Seattle area. 22 retro gaming stores in the Puget Sound area.
Kinsey is such an asset to your videos dude. She's great and the rest of the crew too. We do nr get Rahman in Australia. Great vid man.

I'm a 48 year old man but I'm still dying to go to Nintendo World!
I'm going to be 50 and hopefully make it to Japan at 51 but first I still got to learn the language before traveling so I still got time God willing 😁

Killer videos MJR! Keep ‘em up 🎉
You sure love your cargo shorts! 😂 Not sure if I've ever seen you wear jeans or anything else.
I wear jeans starting about NOW because it's 50 degrees in Seattle...until about March when it's shorts for half the year. 👍
