CLARIFICATION: In the end we decided to not include the Wii Bag cost in my final total because I didn’t include any of the games in the challenge. That said who do YOU think had the better pickups at Portland Retro Gaming Expo?
I think I agree with your choice that Paul had the better experience. He bought things that were nostalgic for him and he met the artist of his wife’s favorite game. I think experiences like that at cons are the pinnacle and the best reason to go to a con. All the nods to the MJR crew in this video were great too. My only question is what else was in your Xbox 360 bag? Great video. I miss going to cons. Thank you and keep up all of your vlog videos.
hi MJR, thanks for taking us along with you. I live now in a small city in eastern Canada and we don’t have these type of conventions so I love coming with you along for the ride on youtube. thanks again, JB
The Burnout Series needs to be remade, they are among the best arcade racers ever made. I still play most of them today with Takedown and Revenge being my favourites.
@@MetalJesusRocksWould be cool to do a video with Pink Gorilla about the path of physical games in the upcoming year and generation. Along with what companies online are making some physical games.
One of the most professional youtubers. Must be real fun going to the expo. Here in Norway we don't have any game-shops, most shopping must happen digitally. Keep on grinding, Jason and Paul!
I always enjoy your videos so much, they continue to educate me on games. I had no idea about Rocksmith and as fate would have it, my 14 y/o son wanted an Electric Guitar for Christmas which I already bought. Guess what cool accessory I also just bought....yep Rocksmith WITH the cable! Side note, I love how you and Paul interact and have remained such good friends for so long. Its a testament to have lifelong friends that enjoy one another's company! Appreciate you guys and the videos you post!
The sad reality is that I am not really a game collector @@leemires5315 so the stuff I do buy usually winds up in the MJR Cave Of Wonders. I do have my own, admittedly neglected, channel that has mostly cocktails and building stuff. Check it out!
Once again, excellent video. I wish we had exposed like that on Jersey and the 5 boroughs. Paul had the most interesting pickup but you had the most playable pickup and quite the steal with 10 dollar game bags.
The concept of this video is super dope. All of the finds were fantastic, Paul grabbing obscure shit and MJ’s collectible finds were sick. I would love to see more of these challenges when you go to expos. Also “Metal Jesus knows games better than the back of my sister’s head” had me dying. I had to pause and rewind at that one.
Great video, I really enjoyed watching you guys go head to head on this challenge. Sorry MJR but DMP won this round, his finds were just that bit more weird and obscure...more appealing to the collector side of me...good show guys 🥳
I usually put UA-cam videos in the background while doing other stuff, but this one kept my eyes glued to the screen, it was so entertaining. Plus i love The Rocky Horror Picture Show but didnt know there is a game!
Good to know not only Paul is drunken, he's also a cheapskate.Anyways, would love to see Bioshock in VR, imagine strolling around the city of Columbia or better yet, Rapture.
I know its hard to put out quality videos, but I love your vids. we are close to the same age, and I pull up to my pc with a glass of wine and watch your vids and have so many memories. thank you for keep putting this vids out all these years. Rocky Horror game wins by a long shot, I never knew it existed.
Great video, guys! That expo looks amazing. The architecture, going in, got me all amped up. One day, I’ll visit the Pacific NW and see the world y’all are a part of.
Love your videos dude. When I see you uploaded a video I just have to watch! And I live in Seattle too so you have helped me find cool retro places so I can build my collection!
This was a really fun video to watch! Would like to see more game hunting challenges, also Burnout Legends was such a good find, I got it for my collection after having watched you recommend it in one of your PSP videos.
Anytime DMP is involved, I’m in! He makes me laugh (and that’s not easy). * Side Note: My younger son LOVES Dragster. So, a few years ago (when he was about 12) I made this really cool framed Dragster shadowbox for him with a complete Dragster in Box, the Activision Dragster patch, and another loose cart. They were all mounted vertically in this long frame. He loved it. The following year I made him one just like it with Kaboom! The funny thing is… I can’t play Dragster to save my life! As a matter of fact, I despise that game because I suck at it hahaha! But he likes it and that’s what matters. Thanks for the fun video, gentlemen!
A big part of gaming expos that I like is comparing my haul to my friends' as I'm curious to what everyone was looking for and found. In that sense, I would pick Paul as the winner here. The only part of Metal Jesus' haul that is interesting are the collectables since the games are all very common, and I don't even bother with collectables at expos. Paul on the other hand has a truly unique pick-up with the Rocky Horror Picture Show and his collectable is really cool because it's a personal gift for his wife. His haul seems less like something for a contest and more what a typical attendee would just get.
I really wanted to go to PGRE to meet you but I had some issues earlier this year that made me doubt I could so I called it off. Maybe next year. I was going to make it a full trip that planned to take me up to Seattle in the days after. Hopefully that'll happen.
Great video. In my opinion, Drunken Master Paul is the winner. His idea to buy a cassette of The Rocky Horror Picture Show for Commodore 64 is very smart!
U came in clutch last video u uploaded before this one in nyc I was saying man u should've gone to porland Oregon, then the next video was exactly that 😂😂
I have the Rocky Horror Picture Show on a USB stick for my Commodore Maxi I didn’t have a commodore back in the day and always wanted to play it It’s a really fun game and the best of the pick ups
Must be great to live in a town where all this happens in and nearby to it. I live like Chattanooga and nothing happens here. Used to. We used to see big Star Trek cons and all kinds of game stuff. Never played Dragster on 2600 but loved it in the arcade.
I’m sitting here trying to decide if Jason’s Les Paul Custom is from the 70’s with what I *think* is a Norlin-era oversized headstock or it’s just the camera angle :)

We were playing Burnout Revenge last night! Still a GREAT game!
@@MetalJesusRocks Revenge is probably the best in the series, some would say it is Takedown.
I totally agree. Crash mode is the best. Why they ever took that out I’ll never understand.
Agreed
Or even just a new one in the vein or Revenge or Paradise. They were so good.
