  • The third mountain on The Irish 100, Errigal in the Derryveagh mountains, Donegal.
In this project I attempt to take on the 100 highest mountains in Ireland.
I have climbed many of the mountains in the Mournes and a few elsewhere, but theres so much more to do. I am hoping this project inspires other to go visit their local mountains or travel around our beautiful country and explore further afield.

Fantastic video. You gave fine justice to this mountain. I am a pensioner and have done a huge amount of hill walking in the past, including all the Munro peaks of Scotland. I lived in Ireland for 3 years, and ascended Errigal on two occasions on fine days. Not particularly challenging, but so what. A truly memorable walk with a superb view. On a side note I once did a hill walk on the other side of the glen (to the south), the area around the poisoned glen. It was about the toughest terrain underfoot I have ever encountered.

My dad told me stories of how my grandaddy used to climb Errigal in all weathers barefoot.

I'm biased, being from Donegal, but I love Errigal. Your drone footage was absolutely stunning!
I wish they could put in some kind of path across that horrible bog but there are a number of routes including an approach from the North to avoid it.
    BTW it's pronounced Err-igg-al 🙂

It was stunning! Really want to back and do it via the north ridge for a bit of a scramble! 🙏

That bog really saps the strength. Makes a easy climb much harder than it should be. However, well worth it just for that view.

Errigal currently has a fantastic new path with bridges across the bog & stone steps the whole way up.. going down is a hell of a lot easier than before too.
