First, I love your videos. As for sealers, in my opinion, Minwax Polyacrylic Gloss is definitely the best sealer choice for all types of diamond paintings. After four years of diamond painting and trying a bunch if sealers, my favorites are Minwax Polycrylic Gloss, Minwax Polyurethane One Coat, Varathane Polyurethane and, as you mentioned, Plaid Patricia Nimrocks.
I use Minwax too...but I use the One Coat polyurethane. I love it! I bought it for my Crystal Art but like it so much I use it on everything...including partials. It works great! Doesn't dull the sparkle at all.
Hi. From Canada. I find your videos are the best for instructions. When I seal my paintings, I use clear Elmer's glue and a sponge brush. Your idea is also worth looking at. Thanks.
I’m a artist and I used all those products for different things i works on and I use nail polish bottle and brush put it into that or used to tombo glue bottle and refilled it with poly sealer helps with applying for smaller projects don’t need to put over gems stones just around it
I use this product on every diamond painting project from eyeglass cases to large canvases. I have also experimented with adding very fine glitter (small amount) to the gloss in another container and the results were fantastic. When I apply the gloss to purses and or eyeglass cases I cover the entire top which makes the faux leather shine too.
Thank you for making this video! I'm about to seal my first set of diamond painting coasters and I'm thankful to see the results of using this sealer and how to do it. I used your link to the sealer on Amazon. 😊 Your videos are extremely helpful for newbies like me!
Mrs.Coffee, when I seal book markers, purses, journals and boxes I seal the whole top not just the gems. The purses look pretty with all the black shining. Loved video!!
I am so glad I found you you have saved me so much trouble I could have had as a brand new DP. I was going to go get mod Podge now I won’t. I finished 2 and on my 3rd. You saved me on this one with how to get the parchment paper off when it sticks to much. Love your videos. And thank you again for all you do
First off, wow it turned out gorgeous. Second, sigh... you just proved my hubby right we went to get mod podge cause everyone recommended it and he saw the stuff you're using and said I think you actually want this one and put it in the cart. I havent used either yet but when I do I'm going to admit he was right. Otherwise another great tip, another great finish. Thank you for sharing it.
You are awesome! Just finished my first diamond painting…a 38” x 27” Diamond Art Club painting called “Hawaiian Life”. It was huge for a first-timer, but I figured go big or go home! (Bought it for myself as I recovered from COVID last December) I have tested and debated how to seal it for a week. Spraying would mean going outside, and I live in dusty west Texas. Saw this video, and I am very familiar with Polycrylic, so I decided to go for it! I used a nice 2” brush, and got it done in about 20 minutes. It’s already drying, and looking very glossy! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I use this product on all of my diamond art pictures, even DAC. I know everyone else says they don't have drills falling off, but mine do. After all the time and money I put into these , I won't chance it. Great product!
Thank you for this video. Rambling Rose uses polyurethane to seal her DPs and I had gone to Walmart to buy that, but bought this product by accident. I wasn’t sure if this would work the same so I never used it. Now I can crack open that can and start sealing all my projects needing to be sealed without worry.
Wow that is a lot better than the ones I used. I used mod podge & tombow which dulls the sparkle & does peal off. Thank you I will have to get that one.💜👍
Thanks for this video. I have had this sealer in & out of my cart on Amazon for over 6 months & just could not go to checkout. Well buying it today! Great demo on a beautiful diamond painting that I know was not inexpensive. Have a great day!
I’ve used a similar product made by Varathane, have used it on all my various projects, journals, nightlights, keychains and paintings. The only tip I have for everyone is make sure it is water based so it won’t yellow over time like most polyurethane
Thank you for your suggestions. How are your items holding up after a year since you applied Varathane and what did you use (type of brush/foam) to apply it to your diamond paintings?
@@fransjourney6193 They DP’s are still holding up well. I did switch to MinWax One Coat Polyurethane water based as it’s easier to find (Walmart). I noticed my journal did crack with the MinWax so I use Liquitex High Gloss Varnish for anything pliable such as journals, purses. I used it on a purse a year ago and no cracks!
First of all, I love your videos!! Your channel is by far my favorite channel for diamond painting. I just finished my first diamond painting.. regular drills.. it is for my granddaughters room. I really want it to stay sparkley. I am torn as to which sealer to use. Any advice would be very appreciated!!! ☺
Since your video was 3 years old, I really wanted to check in and see if this is still what you are happy with. Thank you very much for responding!!@@MrsCoffee1
Thanks for posting this! I am not a fan of the Mod Podge either and I just tried the Patricia Nimrock’s spray for the first time and my diamonds lost ALL their shine and just look like dull little dots. I will have to give the Minwax a try!
This is the same thing I used on my full drill rhinestone painting of Patriotic Eagle. It’s actually the only sealant I use. If anything it made it shine even more. I used a foam brush so I didn’t get any bubbles in the sealant. Only complaints I have is full rhinestone paintings are is out of stock and I’m patiently waiting on the shipment to come in and my son keeps trying to steal the painting. Good things come to those who wait.
Thank you! I just started Diamond Painting and just finished a set of 9 Christmas keychains that I'm going to gift as Christmas ornaments. They are rhinestones and I was wondering if I should seal them or not.
Oh wow!!! Those rhinestones are absolutely gorgeous!!! I am very new to diamond painting so I haven't done a rhinestone painting yet but after seeing this one that you did I definitely need to do one of those!!! Thank you for the fantastic information on how to seal this kit!!! I just bought a couple of rhinestone handbags from Diamond Painting Bliss on Etsy and I was wondering if this sealant would work for those also? I saw that you used it on your eyeglass case but I thought I would see if you would recommend it for the rhinestone handbags as well. Thank you
Thank you so much for this! I have two questions though... Is there a certain kind of paintbrush (i.e. synthetic) you recommend using with this? What kind did you use? And then... When you seal diamond paintings... Do you typically wait until you have a couple to seal before you do it, or seal one as soon as it's done? I just finished my first and am about to start on my second, but I am trying to decide if I want to seal it now or wait until I finish my second.
Paint brush doesn't matter really, i for mine from Walmart, you can seal it whenever you want i don't deal my kits i only did the demo for this video, i typically don't seal
@@MrsCoffee1 would you recommend sealing them if you’re going to frame them? I have one more question… What do you do with your leftover drills? I have leftover drills from my first and I have no idea what to do with them. I apologize for the questions. I’m new to this and have no idea what to do sometimes. I love your videos. They are very informative.
No problem, ask away, i dont feel sealing is necessary if you’re framing unless the canvas had issues, extra drills can be saved or disgaurded some ppl save them incase they come up short on another kit ( yes that does happen sometimes)
Just found your video, thanks for the info 😁 I just finished my picture and want to seal it and sew it to a plastic placemat for a garden flag, do you think it will hold up outside?
Would either of these products work on material? I have a shirt purchased from the store that has rhinestones on it. It spells out the word "love." But the rhinestones close to the edge of the letters are falling off after one wear. I'd like to seal them on to prevent more from falling off without taking away the shine of the stones. Would either of the products you showcased work? Or what would you suggest to prevent more from falling off and that would not take away from the luster of the stones? Thank you!!💖💖
Could you please use Krylon sealant, I'm not sure hot to spell it :) and do an honest review of what you think of it? I am still waiting on my first kit and want to use something I can be sure won't dull my finished product as it is a portrait as a gift to my husband. Thank you.
You posted this video at the perfect time, thanks so much! And I have an unrelated question about something I often hear mentioned when I watch diamond painting videos... AliExpress stores having sales. How do you know when a store is going to have a sale?
Thanks for this Mrs C&C! I have a special shaped duplicate I’m using as an experiment piece and I’m gonna buy some of this sealant to add to my testing on it for comparisons. Seems to make more sense than using tombow which could get quite expensive to use on bigger pieces. Did you do one coat? And didja apply generously or just enough to cover - or somewhere in between?
Hello Mrs Coffee, I have a partial, done with special large and small rhinestones,. The painting is of a tree so all the stones are not side by side. Miniwax definitely will not and does not take the shine away
Is the Minwax not sticky when it dries. I’m doing a door hanger to be placed in a hallway. Don’t want to get dust or flies in it. Thanks
No it's not
I use patricia sealer onmine
Does this stay flexible after fully dried? Like can it be rolled up for shipping after sealed?
Yes

If you do seal it, you just need to paint over the gems not the entire canvas

Would you recommend this for sealing rhinestones on ceramic mugs?
Yes make sure the sealer is waterproof
@@MrsCoffee1 awesome! Thank you! I tried a Modge Podge Spray, but I didn't get the results I wanted.

It has been 3 years since you recommended this sealer. Is this still your top recommendation, or have you found something you like better?
This is what I use now
amzn.to/3PPDqua
Is there a reason you like this for these special paintings and the spray for the regular drilled ones?
it doesn't fog the crystals. some sprays do leave a coating that will ruin the canvas
Can I use this on a glow in the dark DP?
Yes
If your framing should you still seal?
My rule of thumb is not unless you have glue issues or Popping drills.
Can i roll a diamond painting for transport after sealing?
Yes, Just make sure it is complete dry
What is the difference between clear gloss and crystal clear?
Clear crystal i don't believe is as glossy
Please tell me the smell goes away with the Patricia nimocks!
Yes
What type of glue do you use to glue down your rhinestone
...glue? The canvas is tacky so no glue needed
But you are not applying it to rhinestones. Those are plastic diamonds
This kis is considered a full rhinestone kit. You can also apply this sealer to the resin ( plastic) diamonds as well for the same results
Can we please have a WIP & Vape Wednesday????
wip and chats are tuesday's
Oh don't ruin Kitsune!
