I got the initial version of this a few years back, and it was - still is! -the most I've paid for a watch. No bonus band with that one, either. I think overall it looks pretty good, and the floating indices are a relatively unique feature that I'm glad to have in my collection. But most configurations of 42mm are going to be pushing my limit, and it's just *such* a heavy build. I wear it only occasionally, as a result. All that said, the redesign looks cool and will probably please people with the wrists to carry it off. My other Spinnaker is the compressor-style Bradner, which has captivating interplay between the inner bezel and the domed crystal edge, and it gets way more wrist time.
I have an old diver that came the same way. I swap the bracelet / strap about every 6 months or so….and it really does make a difference on wrist. Spinnaker is not my favorite. But the concept works for me.
Nice watch, but still too pricey even with discount. I have the Tangerine Dumas which is awesome and price was more palpable with discount of 20% off the $400. If Spinnaker comes down a bit more on price, would like to get the Boettger, the floating indices are pretty cool. Thanks for the review!
I have 2 Spinnaker watches, but for the price, you get a seiko, casio, citizen, tissot, certina, hamilton... and so on. my 2 are ok, but it was an experiment and I don't buy anoter one
Steinhart, Sinn, and even Squale all have more compelling offerings for $700 than this similarly priced Spinnaker with a Miyota movement does. I'll pass on this one.

My only thing is wants to do integrated straps or bracelets are usually punch out I don’t buy any like that anymore the things are different nowadays you can find options if you do need to replace a bracelet or strap
Although not into the orange, it does have a AP Oak Offshore look and feel especially when on the rubber strap, for a fraction of the price. Wish they had this in black face and black strap on the site as the 20% off code makes a more reasonably priced watch at this level.

Anybody else notice the difficulty in separating the links after the pins were removed? 10:40 Seems this overpriced clunker has some pretty bad machining tolerances there. I've owned $70 Paganis that are about that bad, but at $70 it's no issue. At $550-700? Forget it.
Have you not tried to put the rubber strap on? Nearly impossible with the rubber almost sticky. Mine also came with a jammed screw. Maybe they should have thought more about what they are sending out. No more Spinnakers for me.
Bad logo, I don't like the handset or weirdly small indexes, it's cool that they're lifted... I guess, not the best orange I've seen, bracelet looks alright, I wouldn't use the strap though. I don't get why I would buy this over a monster for example or if I cared about straps it's definitely not as good looking as the urban tuna. I'm not gonna call it a bad value but it's not for me so I'd be a bad judge of that anyway.
Too bad there is no adapter, so we could put third-party straps on this watch. I'm sure fans of the Univerisity of Illinois football teem would love the colors.
It's a stunning colour Dave, $550 is ok for sure, however it's not worth the full price. Now I have a Spinnaker for a few years and it's a good brand but around $450 to $500 is about right. However, you can find previous Spinnaker watches at half the price on Chrono 24. I imagine that this will be the case with this one later on if one has patience. The integrated bracelet is not really a selling point, it just reduces your strap options. That's more a negative for me personally.

I just pre-ordered the new RZE for $470, and it blows this thing out of the water on specs, across the board. Funny, and worth noting, that both are borrowing noticeably from Sinn design language.
Such a shame this is a 42mm on 49mm lugs, it would just be too big for my wrist I fear. If it were a 40mm I'd get it in a heartbeat; as is I'll probably be getting the Boldr Odyssey Freediver, for about the same price as full retail.
Changed my mind, risked on this one since it was taking forever to deal with Boldr's customer service, the fact that it was on sale for like 50% off and thus cheaper than the Boldr certainly helped my decision
I like the color but I wish watch makers just stop making integrated bracelets & straps. Once that rubberized strap fails, you're now stuck with the metal bracelet. And from what I can tell, Spinnaker doesn't even offer a replacement on their website.

Scored a "second place" in the lume test because you duplicitously compared it against a prototype / non-production lume model. How is that being honest?
Maen forgot to tell me that the lume on that watch was not what would be offered on the production models. I didn't realize that until after I had filmed the review. But the whole point of the J-score system is so that you can compare the lume of any watch I review against others, just pick a review of any dive watch I've done in the last year and you'll see a score that can be compared to this one. A score of 6 is 60% as bright as a Seiko Samurai. A score of 8 is the average score across all the watches I've tested.

Stirenhart has watches in the $500 price range with Swiss movements that would compete with this one. I do like the design, however.
What I don't like about Spinnaker is the thickness of the watch. The watch is too thick.
AT 13 Mm? most of diver watches out there are gonna be huge then for you at an average of 15 Mm most of them.

Miyota has instant date change at midnight like ETA? I’ve been wondering this for months. That changes everything for me.
It's not instant like eta. He was just saying once 12 hits it's snappy. I have a 9000 series and the date turns like my nh35 not like my Eta.
