Let's face it. I kind of agree with your assessment of the watch, but at this point in time of my life I would love a free $600 (MSRP?) watch. It's style is good if not great and if I don't end up keeping it, it could end up being a great gift to give to someone else. Who knows? It could end-up being re-gifted until it finds its final home! My most recent favorite trait for a watch is a crown at 2, 4, 8, or 10 o’clock. 3 o’clock just digs into my left hand more than I like. I also prefer a 42 - 44mm watch on my 8 inch wrist.
Seiko “Turtle” is a favorite of mine for all of those reasons. Fellow Clutch fan also.

The Spinnaker reminds me of the Invicta 1953 (the only Invicta I've ever been interested in). Great that it fits smaller wrists as mine are pretty small!
The bare bezel is a shame but it doesn't detract from the overall look - not a dealbreaker.

I love the non marked bezel. It’s got a kind of rust finishing. Perfectly usable as a daily. Excellent value.

I agree about the price -- I was surprised a bit. The design reminds me of the Unimatic, which perhaps has a bit more brand cachet. The curvy text on the dial makes me think about the shark logo on Squales. So, the watch makes me think of other watches I would rather have! Still, I hope I win it!
I agree on the hands - I'd like more differentiation between hour and minute. Still, legibility looks good. The color of the bezel works for me, but I'd also prefer to see markings with more utility.

Not having any markings/numbers in the bezel is a pretty cool look. Not something I’d look for normally, but it’s different and I dig it.

This watch has a really good movement . Good vintage looks and specs. I would have liked to have seen indications on the bezel and a better bracelet but over all a fairly good valued timepiece.
Have the two first Spinnaker watches when they started. A Titanium with NH movement and a stainless diver with Swiss movement. They are very nice but their straps abrade easily. I Don’t wear them anymore. Hiding in the back of my closet. Kind of my early education as a watch collector. I should replace the straps and wear them.
I really like the minimalist looks of this watch.

I do like the look of the watch, but like yourself I'm not so keen on the blank look of the bezel. However, they pull off the mix of vintage and modern well, and it seems like a quality piece until you get to the bracelet, which lets the piece down and for the price should match the quality of the case and bezel.

I had a Spinnaker Hull black California dial a few years ago, great watch I really enjoyed it, I only moved it on to finance new watches but as I recall it was around $250 with an NH35. I love 28,800 vps but $600 seems a lot.

This is a decent looking watch as vintage remakes go. I am with you, even on limited edition and with the movement in mind, the retail on the watch is high. I do like the polished transitions on the case.

I like the watch, but you’re correct about the bracelet. It should be a lot better for the price, also the bezel with just a lume pip is a little odd. But Spinnaker does make great pieces!

The curved "Self-Winding" reminds me of the old Tudor Ranger watches. I agree with you on the price being out of line the the overall value.

I'm not sure if you're into older watches.But in 1913,a patent was issued to Gilomen and Cie,Lengnau.It was used in pocket watches,then a company named Gruen implemented that into it's Airflight design in the 50's.Its a one of a kind design, and you would never know it's 70 years old.Not that I could ever afford it,but I'm pretty much a history geek with everything.My grandpap,my Dad always wore a watch,I do as well,and now my son is starting to wear one

I like this Spinnaker a lot, especially the case and dial. I mod watches so I'm imagining this with some milsub-style hands... Mmm hmm.
The dial is a bit odd, but all in all it's a very cool watch!
Spinnaker makes some nice looking watches, though I prefer to make my own. I like the vintage look of the dial, though I just don't get the minimalist bezel. I might just have to do a Miyota build at some point. :)

Well, normally I don't do contests butttt given this appears quite nice and the movement seems a step or 2 above Seiko's. And yes right off before you mentioned it I noticed the bracelet sounded a tad loose. I like the subdued look. It is sort ofretro and I like that. I can handle the lack of markings on the bezel given I'd be using it for timing, but not dive timing. And any watch that doesn't have a Sapphire Crystal is not worth your money. And "if" I received it or bought one ..I can always replace the bracelet if it really gets my panties in a twist.
I have a Spinnaker in my collection. It’s a unique (to me) powder blue in color. I think it’s an awesome watch for the price I paid for it. (Not retail)
