Skeletons doing mundane things. A quilting shop near me has a skeleton at a Victorian sewing machine in the window and someone in my road has put out 2 skeletons sitting in lawn chairs, just chilling.
My style has been so BORING in recent years since I’ve only been buying new fast fashion. You’ve inspired me to only buy thrifted things this year! I used your thrifting tips and found some amazing stuff out of my comfort zone! Cropped things! Things with shoulder pads! Things with the intention to layer! Thanks for banging on my cage with your videos ❤
The "no, you hang up", "you stinky baby" really broke my heart 🥺 Thanks for a cool vid, the shoes are to die for! I hope your Paris trip went fabulously well✨ greetings from grey, octoberish Poland!
So cool hearing about your Creative Director Career and balancing all that you've got going on. I'm definitely inspired to stay creative from you! It's so important for the soul, the crafts and the work (jobs) and life overall. Thanks for an awesome video! Always a pleasure to watch
well, I’m obsessed with this purple dress+sporty accessories look. and I love your reflective tangents! you lead an interesting life, my dude. I’m here for it.
i was JUST in nyc and also went thrifting in brooklyn but literally every shop that was recommended to me/i could find were vintage/curated second hand shops with insane prices. thank you for the new spots i can't wait to visit next time i'm there!!
Hi Kathleen! Just wanted to say I so appreciate your vibes, aesthetics and that u really do what makes u happy when it comes to the videos u make (or so I'm assuming, to be fair!) and that you give us those nooks and cranny pockets of your time and energie!! Im very grateful
I love mixing super floofy feminine with structured (traditionally)masculine shapes. (I know how weird it is to give shapes and textures genders, but that’s the planet we live on 😂😂)
Hey Kathleen, I found your vids a week or so ago and have been on a mission to watch everrrything! I absolutely adore your videos, they remind me of the goodness of old school youtube and you always make me smile and feel like im hanging out with a friend. Thanks for blessing the internet with your creative brain and good vibes!
What do I do while waiting for my flight that leaves in 3 hours? Sit in the airport because I have to much anxiety to risk going anywhere. Not that I’ve ever been on a plane PS don’t let the bed bugs bite in Paris
I was hoping you'd go to Beacon's!!! I prefer the one in Bushwick and Manhattan. You may also find some okay things at Stella's in Williamsburg, specifically dresses and skirts
your maxi dress fit is fabulous ! i've thrifted five maxi dresses for fall and two faux fur coats (my absolute obsession !] can't wait to see what you thrift in europe 😀😀
That spicy purple ruffled piece is marvelousssss! The gucci loafers are really giving Elaine Benes vibes and I like it! Glad you found some reasonably priced goodies because I almost fainted from secondhand sticker price shock from the other shop- yeeesh.
That magenta dress with the gold heart earrings and the space buns? You already have a magical girl look but, Kathleen, THAT is your Princess Serenity look. 🌙✨
Another lovely adventure with our favorite thrift goblin! I loooooove the dress from the show try on!!!!! That color is gorgeous and i can see myself in it! ✌️✨ I can't wait to get my car back soon, I miss thrifting so much!
i just found you a few days ago & have been obsessed with your videos ever since!!!! just wanted to say thank you for being so helpful & kind! you’re amazing 🖤
missed opportunity to emphasize toe-tally while showing off your new kicks 😉❤ I love the dress too! and good thing you hung up cause I certainly didn't want to
Was in Paris this summer and this art print/art book shop stole my heart! It's called Sergeant Paper and is located on 26 Rue du Château d'Eau, 75010 Paris. So many good finds but too little time to make any decisions 😭 Also the neighborhood is super cute. There was a great natural cider bar with a tiny bit rude/sassy/understandably stressed waiter. Super french. 😘👌 10/10 would recommend both!
I’ve seen the Stuart and Arnold Knife Throwing Show!! They used to work the Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Texas in the spring, and then at Pirate’s Landing in Port Isabel, TX in the summer! I can vouch that they do, indeed, miss you, if you participate in the show. 🔪 😂
ahhh so cool that you were in NYC! hope you had a great time there :D if you ever go back again i really recommend L train vintage/no relation vintage and the goodwill in chelsea, i've had such good finds there! the goodwill is more mall-esque but they have some cool stuff
thank you!!! ahhh i've heard such good things about L train and it keeps falling through the cracks when I visit! next time :o) have a lovely weeeeeek!
i work for an estate sale company we just did a house like a 1980s full closet since i know your style now i was able to pull out all the great 80s 90s pieces to donate :) two closest full :) so many 1980s matching sets! clown style tops
This might be too late, but when you’re in Paris you have to go to Chinemachine in Montmartre and the one and only Thanx God I’m a VIP! (Weirdest name for a thrift store, I know)
i didn't know the first thrift shop you went to, but prices look good! have you gone to urban jungle in Brooklyn? (you might have gone there in another video i don't know, but it's my FAVOURITE! huge, and prices usually under $10) im also so curious about ur work / the shoot! food and dogs are the perfect combo amirite? ps: those nike tabis are SOOOOooooOOO cool
i love your content kathleen!! watching your videos got me excited to go to the thrift store on my own terms for the first time, and i got some really cool stuff!! keep crushing it you are so rad :O (i also wish i could get notifications for your videos bc the bell doesn't let me turn them on oops)
I wish I could find cool shoes in the opshop!! I only fit into v large women's shoes, and I don't really do heels for comfort reasons, and the men's section is always a bit boring..... I do have a great pair of plain chocolate brown boots that I wear all the time that I found at my local opshop though
Omg loved the mini "Ted talk"!! I had no idea you also have a full blown career beside youtube. :O It is impressive as hell that you do such quality videos along a job! I'm just starting with my youtube channel and am in the same boat with having a full time creative job as well. It meant a lot to hear your little reflection. I am also finding it to be a lot of work, but also a lot of joy and satisfaction. And as you've said, it all comes from the same pool of creativity. My biggest issue is actually with self-doubt and self-sabotage, thinking that I shouldn't be doing this silly thing on the side and that it is unrealistic and dumb. As if the video making needs some sort of official approval from someone (??) otherwise, I'm a fool for even doing it. How was it for you when you were just starting with youtube? I'd be really interested to hear more about this, and the inner workings of your "double-life". Anyway! Keep up the amazingly magical video work you do!! Been following for a couple of months and you are IT!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share! I have the tendency to think far into the future and worry about doing things right/failing. SO! When I first started making videos, I made sure that my only goals were 1. To have fun and 2. To see what I could learn. It gave me the freedom to not worry if my videos were any good or if anyone was going to watch and instead focus only on making sure I was having a good time and experimenting. I’m really glad I did it this way! Each video got better as I learned more about storytelling, editing and finding my voice. And.. people started watching! I think less because the videos were “good” (because, lovingly, they weren’t haha) and more because I was just being myself and having a fun time & they felt like they could do the same. I hope that helps! If anyone asks why you’re doing “such a silly thing”… “for fun” is a totally valid response :) Best of luck!! (Also I love your name! My bestie in college called me Katka 🥲🌸)
@@KathleenIllustrated Thank you so much for sharing more of your thinking! not bullying myself. I will copy paste your approach word for word into my brain (and also secretly start regarding you as my youtube fairy godmother 😂
Never have seen you before today but you are super cute and you totally resemble Maggie Gyllenhaal, who I love. Gonna dive back and watch some more. Have a good day! 🥰
I used to have a pair of Air Rifts...I bought them in maybe 2005? I wore them into the ground. I have been wanting another pair, but I haven't come across the right ones yet...clown style is not really my style :P
Next week we're decorating for Halloween! What's your favorite decoration this year?!
The ugliest clown ornament you ever saw. He has yellow skin and a black mouth 🤡😱
I’ve got a vintage bat decoration that looks a bit like Steve Buscemi
Skeletons doing mundane things. A quilting shop near me has a skeleton at a Victorian sewing machine in the window and someone in my road has put out 2 skeletons sitting in lawn chairs, just chilling.
Just took a walk around my hood and saw some awesome decorating. My favorite are the waving skeletons and a huge T-Rex that's bonez 🖤🎃👻🤘✨
I'm feeling ghost. But my kid is feeling spiders..
Spider ghost? Ghost spider? 😵💫

I hear you. Why do you think your style became boring to you though? And what does thrifted clothes offer you that fast fashion clothing doesn’t?
she's back!!!!!!! you seem happy, refreshed and READY for SPOOKY SEASON!!!
I love your vibe! Your videos always make me feel like I’m with a friend. And cheer me up when I’m sad! Thanks for being awsome
The "no, you hang up", "you stinky baby" really broke my heart 🥺
Thanks for a cool vid, the shoes are to die for! I hope your Paris trip went fabulously well✨ greetings from grey, octoberish Poland!
What an inspiring look into your two lives! Here for the tangents ❤
So cool hearing about your Creative Director Career and balancing all that you've got going on. I'm definitely inspired to stay creative from you! It's so important for the soul, the crafts and the work (jobs) and life overall. Thanks for an awesome video! Always a pleasure to watch

6:25 as tropical country gals I have fear a coconut from big fat coconut tree will smash my head 24/7 🥥
The way i gasped when that purple dress showed up. Its stunning. Not so sure about the tabbyshoes, mainly because the dress totally overpowers them.
i think you are so epic kathleen
I was so happy to see an upload from you. A bit of escapism from my current brutal reality in Israel. 💙💔
Thanks for sharing a bit about your day job. It must be time consuming to do both it and youtube! Enjoy Paris 🥐🥖🧀
What's up
I've recently started about a year ago and I visited new York not long ago. They have great choices as far as stores go.

Omg, I'm always such a nervous wreck before traveling anywhere, but especially by plane. How can u be so calm?
I’m IN New York!
I really would love to listen to an audio book with you as the narrator... that would be amazing. Maybe a third job 🤷♀️
I skipped out on thrifting because I had a full luggage, but I heard great things about beacon’s closet so I’ll check it out next time in in BK
